A brief Turkey encounter today, my eager Big Kittens. Moi was traveling back from her mailbox, which the postperson cannot be bothered to close correctly, when she glimpsed a large gray shape from the corner of her eye. At first, the Kougaress thought it was a large rabbit. However, the critter veered in front her van... it was a wild turkey hen, very muted in color and young. Girl Turkle zigzagged a bit, halted at the fence, then decided to run on through the strands of wire to the pasture.

No, I’ve never met Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander, up close and personal, except in my fantasies. Nor, have I ever met Adrian Paul, except in my dreams, the dreams in slumber-landia, which are usually the type that feel utterly real, even once I’m fully awake.
For today, I thought I’d try something new for me, writing a sort of fanfic piece. I’ve never done it before, except as a young teenager for the Beatles way before fanfic was a term. And, nope, I’m not a reader of fanfic, so I have no clue if this will meet anyone’s expectations.
I’m going free-form. I’m just going to let this written fantasy rip or pull the rip cord on my imagination and see what happens. I have no preconceived ideas, no plot... only the Highlander and me...

April 2024 ~
Night swelters around me as I wait, hidden in the shadow of the fallen Statue of Liberty, a recent victim of laser strikes. Two of the teenaged Privileged flying in their sport jets battled over prostitute territory. In prior times they would have been labeled juvenile delinquents. I know I lived in those times. However, not as I am now.

Part 117 ~

Sylva scrutinized her cowboy husband’s handsome face, feeling out of time and out of place. Still part of her felt desperate to rush into his arms. She also burned with uncertainty. “Sylva, darlin’.” He held out his hand, his palm inviting her hand. She stepped forward giving him possession of her hand, of her. She’d moved without volition. Now a painful sense vulnerability cut through her and she wanted to shrink back. “It’s okay, my beautiful bride. I can explain.” He drew her into his embrace slowly. The strong circle of his arms comforted her, yet also boldly claimed her.

Zeke studied his Sylva’s face carefully. She was more skittish than a range-running filly inside her first corral. “I’m not certain I want you to explain.” She paused, her gaze immersing in his. “I’m not certain I know what I want.” Zeke witnessed her pain, the isolation she felt even held in his arms. Slipping his splayed hands up her small back, he gently grasped her shoulders, and soothingly stroked his thumbs over her soft curves. He decided more words between them right now wouldn’t help her. Easing his fingertips on top of her tense shoulder muscles, he gently massaged.
