Eartha Kitt... Heaven Bound

Good Christmas evening, my Beautiful KitKats...we have lost one of our own. Singer, actress, dancer and catwoman extraordinaire, Eartha Kitt ~ 1927 - 2008 ~ is heaven bound. She was born in a ONE year and leaves us in a year of ONE. She is Number One. Because there is no other like her. And there will never be anyone quite like her...unless she chooses to reincarnate as that persona.
The woman was and remains pure sultry magic. She was, in her own unique style, personified sex...before the word, sex, became the generic use-all term it is today.
The Kougar first became absolutely enamored watching Eartha Kitt as catwoman on the old campy TV Batman show. Who could ever forget that outrageously sexy purr? Her every move was feline and ferociously alluring. Secretly, moi always hoped the two would have a romance, more than was depicted.
And in every movie role, Eartha Kitt always stole the scene in this Big Cat’s humble opinion as the seductress with the biggest and most enticing claws.
And that voice, singing or speaking, raw and lyrical and passionate.
Needless to meow, Eartha Kitt as catwoman was one of the inspirations for the Kougar’s ‘coming soon novella’, Black Cat Beauty. And, most recently, Eartha Kitt singing Santa Baby, was a major inspiration for moi’s Holiday Flash in Five Hundred ~ Santa Baby, Waitin’ just for you... ~
What strange synchronicity ~ the passing of Eartha Kitt as the Kougar ended her Santa Baby flash yesterday, and for right now. However, the story remains a work in progress, since Kaily and Dillon have a whole story to tell.
Tonight on the local news was a short scene of Eartha Kitt, as an older woman, singing Santa Baby in a production that included a traditional Santa Clause. She had lost nothing of her slinky sexy cattitude. Nor her ability to captivate an audience.
The Kougar already misses her unique light in this world.
Consider ~ Eartha Kitt and Mae West ~ you don’t get that kind of iconic sex appeal anymore, roaring-sad to say.

Just for the Big Cool Cats ~ the lyrics to Santa Baby as sung by Eartha Kitt ~

Santa Baby, slip a sable under the tree, For me.
been an awful good girl, Santa baby,
so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, a 54 convertible too,
Light blue.
I'll wait up for you dear,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the fun I've missed,
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed,
Next year I could be just as good,
If you'll check off my Christmas list,

Santa baby, I wanna yacht,
And really that's not a lot,
Been an angel all year,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa honey, there's one thing I really do need,
The deed
To a platinum mine,
Santa honey, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa cutie, and fill my stocking with a duplex,
And checks.
Sign your 'X' on the line,
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Christmas tree,
With some decorations bought at Tiffany's,
I really do believe in you,
Let's see if you believe in me,

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing,
A ring.
I don't mean on the phone,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry, tonight.

Goodbye smooches to Eartha Kitt from the Kougar...

So sad about Eartha Kitt, Savanna. One very classy, talented lady. I still recall her wonderful hymn of praise to my countrymen - about lovers. The refrain was 'And the Englishman takes his time.' Then at the end, she said directly to her audience: 'But ladies, do you not want to be with someone who takes his time?'
She put it far more graciously, but it was wonderful!
Thanks, Savanna.
Best wishes, Lindsay
