Four Blue Ribbons ~ Thank you, Noelle

Purr-greetings, my summer sizzling KitKats, a small storm moved through and saved the Kougar a 97 degree day. Thank you, O divine weather beings. Smoochies, all around.
~~~
Roaring-wow, another storm blew through a couple of hours ago. The winds were horrendous at one point, and moi wondered if a tornado was close.
Nope, the Kougar may not need to concern herself with her non-tomatoes... oh-sad-meow.
Yep, here it is ~
Romance Junkies Review
Her Insatiable Dark Heroes
Author: Savanna Kougar
Publisher: Siren Publishing
Release Date: May 2009
Blue Ribbon Rating: 4
~ I loved the names of the different characters, and the banter... Wendra was very well done as the heroine, and I really liked how she was always pushing to be allowed to use her powers, and was not content to just sit there and be protected. ~
Curses Were Strange Beasts
CHAPTER TWO ~ Mr. Dead Man
Keziah stepped into her strappy evening high heels, shiny and black as onyx. Pointing her forefinger she buckled them perfectly, then zapped them with miniature lightning bolts to add extra strength. “No use breaking a heel over you.”
Authoress News ~
Serena Shay, author of the coming release from Liquid Silver Books, THE CHALLENGE, posted a link on her blog,
The Mind Wanders , to an article at ~ bookseller.com ~ addressing the giant schism in the RWA. The article was based on Deirdre Knight’s ESPN blog, about the unfair and out-of-date policy for small print/e-authors, and the response of Ms. Pershing, president of Romantic Writers of America.
Nope, moi couldn’t resist leaving a comment ~
There are many nasty dynamics at work in the RWA. I can say that since I've been a member for YEARS.
While it's true that authors, romance authors, unless you're on the top tier, are often treated poorly in terms of payment, the RWA's solution is completely unrealistic in today's cyber world. Furthermore, the current policy is not only 'unfair' to most of their members, in the endgame it serves no one. Not authors, not readers, not publishers and not booksellers.
Why is this? The digital age offers a whole new way for authors to earn a living and build a career. It offers readers romance stories they wouldn't find anywhere else. Niche reading is more and more the trend. Mass market has had it's day as the only way to market and offer good reads.
RWA's policies inhibit the growth of this viable market, not only denying talented authors, but sadly denying readers the books they most want. Fortunately, several of the small print ebook publishers are trailblazers and certainly don't want to give up the profits they are enjoying, or give up the reader's market they are serving and growing.
Happy Courtship on another Earth
X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues....
Part 179 ~
Sylva straightened as a bolt of energy surged through her. “Wow. What’s in those winterberries? Or was it the morning drink? I’ve never felt this energized. I mean, I feel like taking the world on.” Sylva scrutinized his face while he studied her face. “I’m not certain, darlin’, which one. Or both. Your body is starved for nutrition. Take another sip of the drink. If you feel tingly with more energy that could be it.” Deciding it wouldn’t hurt, Sylva took a tentative sip. Setting the glass down, she luxuriously tossed back her hair. “What exactly do you mean ‘starved for nutrition’?”
Zeke sought a way to explain. Dang, and tie him to the chair... if she wasn’t more entrancing, her fiery beauty making his loins hunger as if he were starved for nutrition. Zeke wondered if he’d always be starved for her, his wife. “Sylva, I could tell by the way your body responded to the food here and the health elixirs.” She blinked slowly, her eyes wide as pansies. “Oh,” she murmured. “I mean, there’s nothing artificial that hypes someone up.” Zeke cocked his head. “Artificial? What do you mean?” After swigging another sip, she answered, “Like MSG, aspartame, ritalin, prozac.”
I'm still wondering about all those wonderful foods with no additives. Sad that Earth I still doesn't get it.
O, Serena, kitteny squishy hugs of thanks.
I do hope you like Curses... my goddess girl and her hero were/are notoriously fun to write about.
