Unfairness... it's in the wind...

Oh, lovelerly Big Kittens, it stormed cats and dogs for awhile today... and another patch of nice rain just moved through. Big sadness, though, the Kougar’s beautiful, perfectly shaped Bradford Pear tree, lost a major limb, which ripped down the side of the tree. Fortunately the forty foot limb didn’t hit anything... thank you, Angels of the Divine. Hopefully, the tree will be okay. The rest of it appears fine. Moi tried to look for tree salve to slather over the raw wound, but didn’t really find anything on the world wide webbie, except that tree paint isn’t recommended.

Unfairness, darling Big Cats, it must be in the wind or in the stars. All of a sudden examples are cropping up like super weeds around the Kougar. Acts of unfairness are being highlighted in an obscure manner, yet highlighted all the same ~ the most recent example, how DA handled the review of one author’s book.
Why not make it a private matter rather than a public hanging, meow-metaphorically, that is? Who is it serving, really? The author, not in this Big Cat’s opinion. The publisher, well, maybe, because a correction can be made. Yet, wouldn’t that correction have taken place if the publisher was simply notified of the mistake?
So, does that act of extreme unkindness help DA ~ gee, moi wouldn’t want that karma. Yep and yowl, she also thinks there are professional and positive ways to reject an author’s mss that really do assist toward making a story better, rather than some slap up side the head that does nothing but cause confusion, depression and ill will.
So, a purr of great big thanks to those editors who are professional and helpful.
Perhaps with the number of manuscripts submitted, some publishers don’t have a concern about losing out on good authors and feel free to improve the strength of their personal snark muscle. Even if that is the case, that situation could turn around on a dime. So far, small print publishing is a wide open business. A lot of authors will go where they are wanted and treated fairly instead of enduring the ‘slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’ via un-professionalism.
Fairness being the key... no, the Kougar does not equate fairness with some automatic path to being published. Not at all.
To all those in the publishing biz who are truly professional and fair, kitteny smooches and hugs.
Of course, what isn’t unfair these days? GM is bailed out to the tune of some astronomical amount while secretly planning to move most of its operations to other countries. Gee, that will help us all out. And what’s up? Why are we as citizens paying to send an American company overseas?
Unfairness is epidemic. In fact, it’s a pandemic. Far more than the swine flu currently.

Just for the cowboy lovin’ big cats ~ a sneaky peekie X-snippet from BRANDED BY THE TEXANS...

He altered nothing, slowly lunging his brute of a cock inside her. “God, you fill me.” Kylie let go of his hair sliding her hands onto his shoulders. The bulging strain of his muscles thrilled her and she felt ultra feminine. He’d probably caused every woman to feel this way, given his beefcake strength and the overwhelming stature of his body.
“I’m going to keep filling you, darlin’.”

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues....

Part 164 ~

Sylva smiled. Everything still seemed unreal. And yet, all too real. Mentally, she shook her head. She would simply have to learn how to deal with what was now her life. Of course, her cowboy husband might be well worth it. “Zeke.” She stroked up his arm. “I am feeling tired. This has been the most wonderful evening.” She smiled again, moving closer. “This whole night has been a dream come true. Thank you.” Sylva meant every word she spoke, down to her deepest soul. Yet, she waited for the other shoe to drop, as had happened so often before.

Zeke tenderly claimed his woman’s elbows drawing her closer. “It is time to leave, isn’t it?” Enfolding her in his embrace, he hugged her and felt his heart embrace her. “Come on, darlin’.” Turning her, he draped his arm around her shoulders. “I’ll let them know we’re departing. Then we’ll stroll on back.” In moments he strapped on his gun belt and placed his hat. He offered his arm to his wife, noticing the signs of weariness on her face. Sidling next to him, she twined her dainty arm around his. “I almost hate to leave, it’s all been so dreamy.”

Weekly Angelic Forecast from Volcano

Straight from the Carnal Cherub himself...

Angelic Forecast ~ #40

This week will be one of confusion. Often it will feel like you’re walking through a heavy fog. Use caution as you proceed with any project. And use your best discernment in dealing with others. For their confusion could mislead you as well as them. Your best bet is to use your intuition like radar to guide your steps. Also, look for the beams of light shining through. You will recognize them by the feeling of divineness that overwhelms you.
This is also a week for fun, those precious intimate moments you most enjoy with those you love. Expand on those moments and your life will take on a new dimension of joy.

~Kitteny pout~ Your poor tree! I hate when they lose the battle with the weather.

~Kitteny hiss~ Yesterdays DA was horrible! No one deserves to be treated that way. I would be willing to bet it was published before it was ready by mistake and those happen. Sadly, the author took an terrible beating... :(

I haven't read the DA article but will.

Love the snippet from Branded. Leaves me wanting more *pout*

Sylva and Zeke are about to begin the rest of their lives...together...YES?

Hi Savanna,
Sorry to hear about your beautiful pear tree. I do hope it can recover.

I agree utterly about DA. Unkind and unfounded. They could have had a quiet word. No compassion at all. And the ghastly scrap that followed was vile. Kudos to you for speaking up, but in that bear-pit company the voice of reason and restraint does not seem to be heard.

Serena, Yeah, my poor tree. I sure hope the rest of it survives. So far, so good. I'm crossing the claws and hoping.

I'm not certain where the mistake was made, however it was...
That doesn't justify what followed for the author or for Siren. And this isn't the first time for DA's unfairness toward a publisher or and author.

Gem, Zeke will make certain of that, but life on Earth II has its definite adventure and marital pleasures.

Lindsay, on top of that poor Trinity got a dressing out on her own loop. Yeah, a lot of what the person had to say was true. But again, why make it public? She could have e-mailed privately. I tried to point out another version of the truth, as well. And took a stand against DA as being favorable to e-publishing. If they are, they have a funny way of showing it. They don't have to ignore problems in the biz, but they could be fair in their comments and research out the whole truth, first.
