Moi’s flash-ing ~

Flash Tattoo of the Tiger Man

I
Anger consumed her, threatening to explode with a volcano’s force. Kwaanni stared at the risen tattoo on her underarm, a supposed gift from the supernatural realm. The long sinuous tail of the black tiger began at her wrist. The head, with its terribly fierce expression, gazed at her from the swell of her arm, just before her elbow.
“I will not.” From her deepest anger, her words defied the destiny she’d been given.
“I will not!”
Kwaanni raised the tattoo toward the sun’s full morning face above the ocean’s indigo edge.
“I will not have a Tiger Man as husband.”

II
Golden, yet adorned with brilliant shades of yellow and red, the Great Sun did not answer. Kwaanni waited, her brow fierce with rebellion. Determined to change her fate, Kwaanni remained, still as a teak statue. The only movement of her body were her savage pants of breath.
“It will not alter.”
The deep timbre of the man’s voice assaulted her back.
Kwaanni whirled, her speed not slowed by the wet sand. “I will not have you.”
“Yet, I will have you.”
She did not view him fully. A patient hunter, he stood in the jungle shadows where the beach ended.

III
Fiery determination seized her flesh and Kwaanni recalled the words of her grandfather’s story.
“Combat.” She hurled the word at him like a flaming spear. “I am free of destiny by combat.”
“You will lose.”
Even the low roar of his words held patience.
“If,” she stomped closer, her insides scorching lava, “if I lose, I will know that I have fought for myself. That will be my victory.”
“Your victory will be as my wife.”
His arrogance an insult, Kwaanni shouted, “That is no victory. That is to be endured.”
He moved from the shadow, her world’s fiercest warrior.

Way, way back in the Kougar’s cubhood, she enjoyed a TV show, actually the reruns, starring Gale Storm. She played a perky and somewhat wacky woman who was a cruise director on a great big ship.
It always struck this cub odd that the actress’s name was Gale Storm, since she had that affect on the ship’s crew, and was truly a larger storm than any gale storm that could ever have hit the ship at sea.
What moi enjoyed most was Gale Storm’s irrepressible personality and her resourcefulness in gaining her way.
Yesterday, Gale Storm passed over to that great heavenly cruise she so deserves.
~~~
Wiki entry ~
The series was based on a cruise director, Susanna Pomeroy, on a ship travelling around the world. A cast of regular characters inhabited the ship and new situations were created by the ship mooring in ports.
Gale Storm, star of '50s hit TV series, dies at 87
From Associated Press
June 28, 2009 4:21 PM EDT
LOS ANGELES - Gale Storm, whose wholesome appearance and perky personality made her one of early television's biggest stars, has died at age 87.
The actress died Saturday at a convalescent hospital in Danville, said her son, Peter Bonnell. He says she died of natural causes.
Storm was a Texas high schooler named Josephine Owaissa Cottle when she won a talent contest for a radio show called "Gateway to Hollywood" on New Year's Day 1940.
Soon she was in Los Angeles, making movies with Jackie Cooper, Eddie Albert and Audie Murphy.
In 1952 she landed the starring role in "My Little Margie," which quickly became an audience favorite and ran until 1955.
Just for the cowboy lovin’ big cats ~ a sneaky peekie dialogue-snippet from BRANDED BY THE TEXANS...
“It was like being in an old western movie.” Her tiny miserable voice squeezed his heart. Hard.
“You’re a tough little thang. I’d want you watchin’ my back.”
“Watching or washing?” She gurgled a small sound that wanted to be a chuckle.
Dillon paused as her meaning became clear. “Both. Watchin’ and washin’.” He continued stroking her back making lazy circles with his palm.
“What if I don’t like your brothers?”
Figuring it wouldn’t help matters if he told her his brothers were very well liked by women, usually, he tried to think of a response that would reassure her.
X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues....
Part 183 ~
Sylva almost didn’t believe her ears. “He’s after you over a mud brawl?” She blinked, then nervously picked up the morning drink and sipped. Her cowboy quirked a grin. “It was a mighty big brawl with lots of mud-slinging. Went on for two days.” Sylva clanked the glass down. “Two days!” She gathered in a deep breath. “How did that happen?” His gaze deepened with the memory. “We were always challengin’ each other over something. Up till then, it was about fifty-fifty as to which one of us came out on top. We were both drinkin’ that night... playin’ cards.”
Zeke tried to sort out just how much he should tell his beautiful bride. “Was it over a woman?” she asked, her eyes wide and sky-bright. “Yep.” His insides twisted at the admission. “Sort of.” Her expression demanded answers. “Sort of?” Zeke swallowed, plunging ahead with the story. “The winner of the poker game got to spend the night...” Zeke clamped his lips together for a moment. “Ranson won the last hand, or so it appeared. I accused him of cheating. Turned out he had been. The next moment our fists were flying at each other. Furniture crashed. Whoops and hollering began.”
Men on EarthII are as silly as men on Earth I evidently. Fight over anything for the joy of combat, and to hell with everything else.
I hope Zeke has outgrown this.
Hello There,
I just wanted to see if you were currently interested in additional guest bloggers for your blog site.
I see that you've accepted some guest posters in the past - are there any specific guidelines you need me to follow while making submissions?
If you're open to submissions, whom would I need to send them to?
I'm eager to send some contributions to your blog and think that I can cover some interesting topics.
Thanks for your time,
Tess
Hi Tess, thanks for your question. This is my personal author blog, where I ramble and rumble, and do some promo-ing of my books. I don't have guest bloggers. However, I belong to other romance author blogs that do have guest posts. If that is your subject matter.
