Bizarre Weirdness

Lovely evening, my Beautiful Big Cats, the Kougar is all yowling-talked out. It feels as though a tape has come to the end, as in the time of tape recorders... and everything is on hold, or pause.
It’s a peaceful evening on the tame prairie. The moon is close to being full, gorgeous in the sky. A small storm and some nice rain moved through in the early morning. It was needed. Yep-meow, the temps are like Fall and moi wonders if Summer will hit with a vengeance in September as it often does in the midwest.
Already, the Kougaress is thinking of winter preparations. She has a sense there could be lots of snow this year and hopes for mild temps. No frigid air need apply. Famous last purrs, though.
Bizarre weirdness... that’s how today went in subtle ways and is simply how it feels, the entire world. Shruggies and shakies of this Big Cat’s body... get away strange cooties.

A couple of late nights ago, the Coast-to-Coast am audience did what we call a mass consciousness experiment ~ to bring rain that would help stop the California fires. There was some rain, that had not been in the weather forecast, the last moi knew.

Yay! The Kougar paw-clicked over to the RWA elections’ page. She dutifully read the bios and the mission statements of all the candidates, then voted. There were several ebook friendly candidates. Let’s hope the best people are voted in and RWA changes course to reflect the current realities in romance novel publishing.

Sylva alternated between ‘playing’ with the menu and taking peeks at Zeke. So far, so good. He and Ranson seemed to be on cordial enough terms and were discussing something. “What are your favorites here?” she asked Marina. Marina grinned in a winning way. “They know my order by heart. I always have the chicken-fried steak, lots of gravy, and their vegetable plate. My darling husband usually has their special, unless it’s catfish. Zeke is partial to their steak sandwiches. The desserts, that’s where I do my choosin’. Anything on the menu you don’t understand?” Sylva’s spine tingled a warning.

Zeke pierced his gaze through Ranson and saw no falsehood. “Know anything else I need to know?” he asked. “I’ve got feelers out. Anything else shakes loose I’ll give a holler.” Ranson paused. “Someone comin’ in.” At the same time Ranson spoke, Zeke caught a shadowy glimpse in the Diner’s window, a Long Walker by the man’s gait. Simultaneously, Zeke and Ranson drew their guns, pointing with slow deliberation at the door. Zeke knew by the electric silence in his sister’s direction that she and Grant had drawn their weapons in anticipation. From the corner of his eye, he watched Sylva.
