Meow-Happy First Day of Summer

A perfect deep blue sky, my Beautiful Big Cats, with a scattering of perfect puffy clouds. No humidity and oh-so perfectly on the cool side. A small ocean of out-of-control prairie grass with native flower blooms. Butterflies flitting hither and thither on the first black-eyed susans. Gloriously red cardinals on the branch outside the kitchen window. Early season crickets as evening arrives...
Happy First Day of Summer from the middle of tame cattle-landia...
Before the blistering heat of summer, before the tensions of our time builds up to non-stop, remember Big Kitties all, the Kougar loves you...
Moi has two happy little surprises to share. First, her author's page at Siren Publishing tickles her tummy delightfully. Thank you so much, Diana and Stella. Take a stroll on over to ~ sirenpublishing.com/savannakougar ~
And two! the Kougaress, while stalking the wildlands of the cyber world with Google, found an absolutely lovely page devoted to her aristocratic fantasy, All Shades of Blue Paradise, at ParaNormal Romance ~ paranormalromance.org/reviews/book ~ glimpse the titles under 'A'.
Last Wednesday Lunabelle was full and in her apricot golden splendor near the horizon. What would we do without her, my Kitties all? For she helps to keep our beloved Earth on a more even keel while we whirl around Sol, Father Sun.
Ah...and the world of the romance author does spin with trends and twists, with women's fantasies new and old. Xandra Gregory at Star-crossed Romance ~ star-crossedromance.blogspot. com ~ has done an exceptional blog and furthered the terrific discussion begun at Title Magic with Monica Burn's blog ~ Sex, Language and Readers. The title of Xandra's blog, Erotic Romance's Slutty Reputation (moi quirky and kinky luvs this title) should be enough to get your paws fast-loping in that direction.
Today. ah today and through the weekend, Fantabulous Cats all, romance author, Diane Whiteside ~ with all those delicious cowboy stories and the cover art to match ~ is with us at Title Magic ~ titlemagic.blogspot.com ~. Her subject is the Sure-Fire Six Point Pitch, wonderful info for authors and aspiring authors. Think six gun held at the ready as an attention getter, but then, it's your story that peacefully sells to the right publisher. Moi's mew-sings below.
Diane, thank you so much for being with us today. That's an excellent approach for pitching, as I understand it so far. Also, it looks like a good way to organize your own thoughts around your novel. And out of that the 'sucky' middle gets going under its own steam.
Actually, I just hit that middle in my current WIP.
Powerful cover art. 'Course I always have a soft spot for cowboys. Who is your cover artist?
And, silver bullets for vampires ~ or the Lone Ranger's silver bullets ~ on the Liquid Silver Sexpressions blog ~ liquidsilverbooks.com/blog ~ romance author, Jeanne Barrack, is talking food and hot food romance. Just for a purr-tease, moi's comment below.
Well, cucumbers are always good for a laugh or a salad. But, the hero was more into plucking her berries than having his banana peeled.
If ya know what I mean...

Reviews by Cindy & Werewolfen Secrets

Big Adorable Kittens all, today the Kougar will post Cindy's reviews of moi's two e-novels. Cindy is a reader who participates on the Siren-BookStrand Yahoo loop, and loves reading erotic romances. She also likes writing reviews. So the Kougar is purring-glad to present ~

Reviews by Cindy ~

All Shades of Blue Paradise by Savanna Kougar is a great story. I especially liked that the hero was aggressive and the heroine was a very strong woman. The out of control passion they felt for each other was sizzling .The clash between the aggressive hero and the equally strong heroine creates a tension that keeps the reader wondering how they'll reconcile their past mistakes.
Even though I enjoyed this book, the writing style is unique and it makes it somewhat challenging book to read.
Cindy

All Shades of Blue Paradise ~ Siren Publishing ~ sirenpublishing.com

Author's note: Like a historical romance this novel is written in the culture of the World of the Blue Pearl Moon, and thus, all good and dear readers are advised the writing style is unique.

Red Lioness Tamed
By: Savanna Kougar

This is an awesome story, it caught me from page one. I loved the way the hero wasted no time in telling the heroine exactly what he wanted from her. Their interaction and the fact that he found her beautiful, regardless of what form she was in, kept me involved to the last page. This is a fast paced story , that I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope to read more of this series in the future.

Now, just because the Kougaress loves you, here is Part Trois of Chapter One ~ Secret Lives of Fortunate Wolves ~

"Human is not a real good thing to be right now, is it?" she asked, unfreezing enough to sink down in the seat. "Planning on a meal?"
"Only if you join me. – And not as dinner, Keira." He paused, the wolfen magic continued. "My beautiful, fairy-delicate, Venus-lush Keira."
"My Goddess," she murmured, sinking lower – and noticing, through the lessening rain, they approached a quaint town of lovely old architecture.
"Dinner, Keira?" he asked, as if the balance of the world depended on her answer – yet also, as if the balance already belonged to him. The arrogant all-knowing male. Male wolf.
"Why not?" She tried to breathe more normally. Tried to unclutch her bag. Even though she realized she didn’t have any silver bullets – or a gun – or a silver-tipped anything. And maybe none of that would protect her. Anyway.
Silver forks at dinner?"

The Half Moon is on the outskirts, the other side of town," he spoke as if all was completely normal. The world hadn’t just switched to ferociously bizarre.
"Would Rob have been anyone’s dinner?" she tentatively inquired, sneaking a peek at him.
"A bear maybe. Spotted a few new ones lately."
"Running as a wolf?" she asked, figuring she might as well take the wolf by the furry dangerous – if gorgeous tail.
"Yes. – And on night rounds. Had some reports. Wanted to check it out. – Silver bullets won’t kill me, Keira. Or a silver fork," he amused offered, then waited – enjoying, enjoying tremendously.
"Oh, this just gets better and better. Werewolf and mind reader. Do you ‘mind’ letting me know what does work?"
"There’s only one way to kill me, Keira."
Sadness filled her like an empty well. She saw him wolf howl mournfully – the full mammoth moon, radiant behind him – but that was all.
"Half Moon is just up ahead. Stay close, Keira. Let me do the asking."
"Part of the wolf brethren?" she inquired, curious and thinking escape.
"Escape, Keira?" he teased. He pulled in, stopped.
Before she knew it, he captured her hand. His lips grazed just above her thumb, so sensuously she nearly swooned. And felt entirely shocked. Nothing like that had ever happened to her. She didn’t even own the willpower to reclaim her hand.
"Battle me later, my beautiful Keira. Stay. I will open your door."
Werewolf! It bounced through her, pinballs ringing, zigzagging. Beating against her insides.
He opened her door, presented his hand – reminding her of the regency movies she had seen. She gazed up at him, then placed her hand in his. A strange sense of belonging whispered through her – vanished, as they moved through the steady rain, side-by-side, to the Half Moon’s office.
"Marshall Vhulfe," the twenties-something woman greeted, her eyes flashing flirtation.
"Mara, we’re looking for a guest. Mr. Robert Bateman."
"He was here, Marshall. Checked out yesterday about 2:00 in the afternoon. Seemed real enthusiastic about something. Paid his bill. – Everything seemed okay."
"See anybody with him, Mara?"
"I know he’s been talking with Trista. Seen them together. When I went to lunch. At Bev’s place. – But I didn’t see Trista with him when he left – or anyone else."
"Make any calls?"
"One to Trista that I know about. Overhead him on his cell. – Didn’t use the room phone."
"He leave any information about were he was headed?"
Marshall Vhulf leaned on her counter – forward, on one elbow – eye to wolf-penetrating eye with Mara.
"He didn’t speak it, Marshall." Mara cast a speculative cold eye over Keira. "But I think he may have headed north. Recent wolf trails up there. Good swimming place too – if you know what I mean."
"I do, Mara. Thank you. If he you see Mr. Bateman, or hear anything else, I need to know – talk to me quick."
"Yes, Marshall. You want his room key. No one’s checked in yet."
"Thanks, Mara. Say hello to your mother and father for me. Plan to be at the Sunday picnic."
Mara smiled then – beautiful, yet somehow voracious.
Taking Keira’s elbow, in a commanding manner, and not to her taste, the Marshall escorted her outside. "The car," he stated, releasing her.
Obeying him, only because he was a werewolf, and only because she wanted to find Rob – and because she was stranded – Keira quickly strode to the passenger door, sliding in when he opened it.
"Keira, my fierce one," he spoke once he was beside her. He handed her the room key.
"Fierce!" she challenged. "How fierce could I be compared to you?"
"You will be fierce enough," he enigmatic spoke, switching on the car.
Slowly he drove along the row of rooms, until they were before room 216.
"For the sake of expediency, my Keira, I will forego your door. This time."
"Fine!" She quickly shoved open the door. Her foot landed in a pool of water. "That’s why!" she shouted at him, once she’d jumped out.
"Wolves like water, Keira," he absently spoke, his focus on the motel room. "Next time, however, I will lift you out."
She stared at the back of him, until she handed him the key. Her insides were gooey and stunned – because she knew he meant it.

Back to the Future and Beyond

Hello-purr, my Kittens, the Kougar is worn down to a hunting-shopping frazzle...not to yowl-mention moi accidentally angered an elderly citizen, by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and then offering the wrong kind of assistance. Indeed, Big Cats, the Kougaress has only seen pure hatred and evil blazing from the eyes of two humans *focused directly at moi* twice in her lifetime, both of them elderly women. The Kougar must wonder if demons have a special fondness for possessing these particular human bodies.

Back to the future and beyond, my Big Beautiful Cats. The Kougar has an enduring fondness for all three Back to the Future movies. What's not to love about that *Dorlean ` the car*, that time travel adventuring in that offbeat fun way? Often, when writing one of moi's stories, meow-however, that's what it feels like, since past events make the heroine and hero who they are, no matter what part of their sizzle romance adventure the Kougar is writing. And the moi also flicking-tail happily adores writing futuristics, which always mean knowing the past as well, regardless of culture the novel set in ~ the space of Red Lioness Tamed or another dimension like World of the Blue Pearl Moon.

To tell Lady Sheridan and Baron Zaggry's story in All Shades of Blue Paradise, the past was often referenced since the novel began ten years after Sher broke their engagement. And that is where backstory enters the story picture. And for that craft topic visit Title Magic and soak up today's Guest Blogger, Terry Odell's words of writerly wisdom.

Moi's opening and intro...

Happy Summer All. Grab those special books you love to escape with, and head out to the pool or to your backyard lounging chair, and indulge your reader's appetite. Terry Odell's romantic suspense novels are a perfect fit for summer. Her clear descriptive writing style will carry you away effortlessly into a story packed with hang-onto-your-teeth twists and turns. But, most importantly, ends with the triumph of love. For all of us authors and aspiring authors Terry discusses a topic that is vitally important to a successful novel, how to use backstory. What does your reader need and want to know about the main characters? How much is too much? And when is there too little backstory?Welcome Terry, thanks for joining us today.

Meow-then, a snippet from Starting Over by Terry Odell ~ just because moi loves it.

In the steamy cocoon of the shower, Colleen’s fingers found the dimpled scar the bullet had left on her thigh and the long, straight one where they’d repaired her femoral artery. She knew they were no longer a garish red, but she refused to look at them. Thankfully, the exit wound on the back of her leg was out of sight unless she really worked at seeing it. The ugly reminders that screamed "failure" remained, long after the physical pain had gone.
She watched the sudsy water swirl down the drain, willing it to take her memories along.
Get a grip. It’s over. Forget Pine Hills. You made your choice, so get on with your life.
She declared yesterday a do-over. Hell, as long as she was changing the rules of time, the last three months never happened. But then, she’d still be a cop in Pine Hills, Oregon, instead of a basket case in Orlando, Florida.

Love Romances Cafe' ~ Open the Door to Blue Paradise

Kitty Kat Kougar is deep in edits and for a break, National Treasure. Thus, here is moi's first excerpt on the Yahoo Loop ~ Love Romances Cafe' ~

Open the door to Blue Paradise ~ where every erotic dream comes true ~

Excerpt:
"Lady Sheridan Kayla Woadeir," Clarence intoned in his best aristocratic voice. A broad smile broke over his face, brightening his countenance to near jolly. He widened the door, inviting her entrance.
She stepped into the cobalt and pearl foyer, smiling in return. "How are you, Clarence?"
"Sunny azure days ahead now, Lady Sheridan. He’s up in the grand office. Go on. I’ll ring up your arrival."
Her high heels clicking on the alabaster brilliant floor, Sheridan watched her image in the nouveau shimmer panels. The panels reflected the immense entry room’s light creating a crystalline ambiance.
Sheridan had resorted to dressing in the way he used to passion smolder over. She had no idea if that was still true.
Sapphire blue, gleaming sapphire. The luxury satin dress fit her curves, bared her arms, bared her legs from the knee down to her matching high heels. The pearls around her throat matched the moon’s color of last evening and provided a tiny touch of comfort.
Sliding her fingers along her pearls, Sheridan moved up the long curving sweep of stairs, low steps designed for a woman. Butterflies battled to escape her stomach once she stood at the top on the wine red carpet.
Keeping her feet moving, she glided toward the open office door, as if she moved inside a pocket of air. Reality seemed a horizon away.
He didn’t speak when she entered. He casually leaned back on his chair, one foot propped up on the dark shining wood of his enormous desk. Potent power and grace, he stood, silently moving to one side.
He motioned to a swivel cushioned chair before his desk. His presence had always made her feel sultry. Once his sultry woman. It was no different now. Her whole body was a sultry sizzle rhythm. She felt it to her core as she approached the chair and sat.
Her legs crossed, she steepled her fingers, watching him pivot. Lithe, powerful as a cougar, he returned to his chair. She’d seen the media’s view of him, unavoidable in her ‘horse show’ circle. Confronted with him, her breath demanded freedom from her body.
Like a cougar, the way he moved, his fierce intense nature, that was how she’d always seen him. Cougar in male beautiful form. Cougar spirit incarnated to man.
Goddess behold! She had loved him.
Sheridan didn’t blame the women who wanted him, not just for his status or his wealth but for the primal and the aristocratic blend he was as a man, as a lover, the way he made a woman feel.
Pure sensual desire. Pure sensual need. Pure ferocious passion for him.
She waited, knowing that was his cougar-and-prey game with her. She waited, her gaze fondling the burnished waves of his dark mahogany hair, streaked with wild sunlight.
"Sheridan."
The rough grazing purr of his voice made her shiver inside. She met his gaze boldly. Never flee before a cougar. Always stand your ground, even if faced with the most gorgeous eyes she’d ever seen.
Pale emerald, so ice crystalline, his eyes were always startling, always stunning.
"Baron Vettura," she returned, her tone icy cordiality. Sheridan knew her eyes glowed hot. She felt it. She shook back her hair. "It has been a while." ~

Rites of Romance & the Century Plant

Ah, Big Kitties, today was chat day for Siren authors on the Rites of Romance chat loop. The Kougar thoroughly enjoyed being with Bekki ~ author of Psychic Hitch (getting rave reviews), Jenny ~ a new BookStrand author, Lindsay ~ author of Flavia's Secret (coming soon) -- and, also a meow shout-out to Luxie and Amber, and whoever else the brain-dizzied Kougar may have forgotten. Indeed, purring-apologies.
Roaring-fun, it was a lovely discussion about food, chefs, bread! oatmeal cookie-eating squirrels, chocolate marshmallows ~ and the marshallow herb plant before the puffy thingies popular as campfire fun fare. And so much, much, much more!
The Kougaress is darn worn out! from all this chatting. Never having been a Chatty Kathy kind of kitty girl.
Now, moi is tail-busily working on her current writing project. A shot of caffeine in moi's cocoa may be necessary, in very short order.
Meanwhile, Big Cats, please enjoy the Century plant pictured. !t was just e-sent from the Kougar's dear friend, who resides in Texas on her 45 acres with her horses, her goats, her chickens, also with her greenhouse and gardens. Moi's friend, along with her twin sis, has created a self-sufficient lifestyle, which is greatly admired by this Big Cat! Giant Texas-sized kudos to your accomplishment, my friend.
And yesterday...yesterday...through no mistake of the Kougar's, Shapeshifter Kisses, was created...but not launched...that is still pending on the moi's over-loaded plate. With the background story to be told later...
Oh, how does the Kougar get herself into this impossible situations? Meow...yowl...how???
Over and kisses out, my Beautiful Big Cats...

Pow! Bam! Smack it...

Hello, my darling Big Kitties, the Kougar did some paw-improvements to her blog. Now the covers of moi's novels actually link to Siren Publishing, Liquid Silver Books and Siren-BookStrand. A big rolling rumbling purr of satisfaction. For now.
Meow-sigh hopefully, the Kougaress will gain enough time to include the new Siren-BookStrand blog ~ http://blog.sirenbookstrand.com/ ~ and Aspen Mountain Press soon. Moi is tail-twitching working hard on her edits for Tangerine Carnal Dreams. Oh where yowling-where is the Kougar's very own handsome hero, who is a tech wizard, a handy man extraordinaire, who can bring home the bacon...moi will bake him brownies, and other tasty goodies...if he could only install snafu-free editing program...wish, wish...oh a huge heart wish...
Plus ~ no, not the plus size of fashion ~ the Kougar would adore designing a snazzy razzy feline header for her blog...ideas are only in the fuzzy stage of the moi's dreaming mind, however. Perhaps, as Helen suggests in her Title Magic blog today, the Kougaress should be on the prowl for that eye-delicious hunk of man to virile-grace her blog with his sexy I-want-you picture. Cat-woman purring yum - Clark Gable. Does Rhett want Scarlett or what?
Also, happy-roaring news, the Kougar will be participating in Celia Kyle's summer scavenger hunt, which begins the first of June. Pssst...hint, the treasure link for winning a whole bunch o' books is below...way below...
And! All Shades of Blue Paradise, Siren Publishing, will be offered by The Romance Studio as the book giveaway on May 24, 2008. If any Big Cat wants a novel-taste of the Kougar's writing. And an escape into the World of Blue Pearl Moon.
Pow! Bam! Smack it into the next dimension, Big Kitties ~ lope rapidly over to Title Magic. Helen's blog today ~ what the American Title V finalists should know ~ is chock full of vote-getting strategies. And is also a titillating insight into how Helen won with her entry, The Magic Knot ~ sorta like a behind-the-scenes of American Idol for romance writers. Mew-sings below.
Wowza, what you learn! Thanks, everyone, since the advice can be carried over to 'hopefully' a career as an author. And should assist the American Title V finalists.
Now, I'm even definitely more glad I didn't fully know what I was up against. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, or, at least, it keeps you going despite the odds.
Hey, I know I got ONE vote. 'Cause I voted for myself. Who knows? Maybe my entry was the lowest vote getter ever?
I can laugh now, which I'm doing...lol.

The Kougar's Wild Turkey

Yesterday, during the late morning hours, Big Beautiful Cats, the Kougar noticed through her back window, this giant dark-colored bird standing on her un-mowed lawn. At first, moi could not determine despite her stalking scrutiny if it was a hawk or a wild turkey. When she grabbed her driving spectacles and the bird finally moved -- a great rejoicing occurred inside the Kougaress's breast. A single wild turkey, not more than thirty feet away. Either a hen or a young male. In prior blogs moi has waxed long and poetic over her love for these incredible majestic birds roaming around her cattle country neighborhood.
Fascinated for far longer than moi would have believed...because the turkey didn't leave quickly as the Kougar would have thought...no, Turkle hung out for close to an hour, leisurely and carefully moving about. Always close to the cover of a tree, Turkle checked the surroundings for any sign of a predator, then took a time of peacking, feeding on the ground and stripping off the dandelion seeds. Turkle also preened quite a bit. Let me meow, that long neck comes in handy when cleaning back and breast feathers, and the feathers beneath those large, large wings. Once, Turkle spread those wings, absolutely delighting moi.
It was the most amazing experience, Big Kitties. The Kougar hopes Turkle will return soon for eye-devouring only.
The shaman message? If there is one? Certainly, Turkle was an absolute gift to the Kougaress's soul. Thank you, Divine Bast.
Today was Siren author chat day on the Two Lips Review chat loop. What moi learns about her fellow authors ~ enough to scorch the whiskers off her scrunchy face! Meow-wow! One mew-sing below, Big Kitties.
To answer one of Tina's questions, my current release with Siren, All Shades of Blue Paradise, began as a semi-dream I had of the heroine, Lady Sheridan, as she sultry-walked to the meet with the hero, Baron Zaggry, her fiancee' from ten years past. I knew he was still in love with her and had never discovered why she ended their engagement. I also knew he intended to punish her with pleasure, given his dominant ruling nature.

"5 Stars: Gryphiz is a world two dimensions from Earth. The people evolved differently from those on Earth. Their stamina and sexual ability increased. When Lady Sheridan saw her betrothed, Baron Zaggy, betray her, she ended the relationship without ever telling anyone why. Ten years later her brother, Brad, begged her help. He owed money to the Baron and needed more time. Regardless of her feelings she agreed to approach him on the subject of the loan. Zag agreed to forgive the debt if she would be his slave lover for one year. He would also help her with her project of a riding stable for children. She agreed. He needed her help to stop a corporation from possessing the Vettura lands and destroying the world as they knew it. Zag hoped to win back her love during that year. All Shades of Blue Paradise is part one of this series. Savanna Kougar is a talented author. The plot is extremely steamy. I would not mind being a slave lover for a year or maybe 20. Kougar has created a completely new world and culture. The characters are well-matched. Sheridan is strong and very sensual. Zag is incredibly sexy, dominating, and loving. Fans of erotic romance will enjoy All Shades of Blue Paradise: World of the Blue Pearl Moon." --Debra, Review Your Book

The Chimera effect ~ introducing Blu Cougar Cub. This cute little alien kitty kat was featured on Coast-to-Coastam with George Noory. How perfect is this little out-of-this world minx? The perfect synchronicity-blending of mois two e-novels, All Shades of Blue Paradise (Siren Publishing) & Red Lioness Tamed (Liquid Silver Books). Does Someone Up There love the Kougar or what?

Thought I would share a picture of my own little alien. Nothing like having her crawl up on you when you are sleeping, and awakening to those large green eyes staring at you. I think she is trying to telepathically communicate with me, but I guess I am not advanced enough yet. In all seriousness, this is my adorable hairless Sphynx cat called Blu Cougar Cub. She's a little menace, and the most talkative little thing. --Morassa Mohseni Morassa@jhmi.edu ~ http://www.coasttocoastam.com/gen/page2540.html?theme=light

Today! Big Lovely Cats, Destiny Blaine is the guest blogger at Title Magic. For the entire scoop on gambling casinos and lucky vampires transform into your bat-winged form and soar on over.

THE KOUGAR'S INTRO: A mighty big welcome to my fellow Siren and Bookstrand author, Destiny Blaine. This little lady is so high energy I just cain't keep up with her.
Seriously, Destiny is an impressive multi-published author and has an absolutely amazing hand with promo. Her Yahoo group, Just Another Paranoromal Monday is fun, and a great opportunity for readers to find the books they want, and a great way for authors to show off their books with blurbs and excerpts, and, of course, the chance to answer any questions. While my loop cyber-social skills aren't too impressive, hey, I'm learning and having a good time. And getting a chance to, maybe, find readers interested in my e-novels.
If we're all really nice to Destiny, she may even offer us a gambling tip or two. Personally, I'm absolutely intrigued with her casino knowledge and background as a gambler. Not to mention the rest of her colorful life. Wow! Thanks for being with us today, Destiny.
I want to first thank Title Magic and Savanna Kougar for allowing me to join in and blog here today. I’m glad to have the opportunity to spend the first day of May with all of you! Savanna and I are fellow authors at Siren Publishing and we’ll both be published by BookStrand too!
I’m really excited to blog with you today because I have some phenomenal news to share. Winning Virgin Blood just released from Siren Publishing on April 28th
(http://www.sirenpublishing.com/destinyblaine/). Winning Virgin Blood, for those of you out there who like paranormal, actually motivated and initially inspired the concept of a new paranormal loop author Ann Cory and I just started. Just Another Paranormal Monday operates as a Monday-only chat loop for readers, writers, and pretty much anyone who loves paranormal.

The Mad Carousel or Whirligig Kougar

Heavens to Mergatroid! The Kougar is on the mad carousel of busy. Too bad there are no actual horsies, snorting and ready for a wild-dashing ride. Back to the Kougaress' whirligig brain, spinning with everything that needs to be done today.
Big Cats, meow about a headspin and tailspin ~ today the Kougar can't find her tail to chase it.
The first order of kitty business ~ and no, that does not involve a trip to the litter box ~ with a juvenile cub teehee added.
Yowl! Not potty humor! The Kougaress is already off on the terribly wrong hunt.
O Great Bast help! Renee Knowles ~ reneeknowles.com ~ GOING TOPLESS, my fellow Siren author, does not deserve this! For she has kindly featured moi's first Siren Publishing release in her newsletter. The purrs below.
I wrote this novel because Sheridan , as she appeared in my twilight state before sleep, was irresistible. Not to mention her Baron ex-fiancee', who was still in love with her. Their World of the Blue Pearl Moon intrigued me, and I had to write their love story.
This is the shortest blurb available:
All Shades of Blue Paradise by Savanna Kougar
Blurb: [Erotic Paranormal Romance] Beneath the blue pearl moon, Lady Sheridan's fiance, Baron Zaggry, broke her heart into unbearable pieces. Ten years later, she becomes his slave lover. Baron Zaggry never discovered why his Sher broke their engagement. Now, he has ten years worth of denied pleasures to enjoy her however he chooses.
Review Snippet: All Shades of Blue Paradise: World of the Blue Pearl Moon is part one of this series. Savanna Kougar is a talented author. The plot is extremely steamy. I would not mind being a slave lover for a year or maybe 20. Kougar has created a completely new world and culture. The characters are well-matched. Sheridan is a strong and very sensual. Zag is incredibly sexy, dominating, and loving. Fans of erotic romance will enjoy All Shades of Blue Paradise: World of the Blue Pearl Moon.
Second big roar! If you catnip-adore those paranormal romances paw on over to Just Another Paranormal Monday, a Monday Yahoo group which features all sorts of salmon-delicious excerpts of print and e-books, new releases and the novels you may want to indulge in ~ plus it's just fun and fascinating.
And my oh my! Those shifty beasties are pouring out of the forest woods and from every conceivable wild world, from futuristic to urban fantasy. These ferocious, yet tender-hearted beastie shifters are growl-fiercely demanding their own stories to the delight of many readers. If you dare doubt moi's huntress-intensive investigation, sleekly lope on over to ~ shapeshifterromance.wordpress.com ~ where readers and authors have their purring-to-roaring say ~ not to meow-mention the great beastie-subject blogs already up at this new wylde blog place.
Thirdly, and pass the dark chocolate bonbons, the Kougar hopes to finish polishing her wolfie shifter novella tonight, and claw-hit send...?
And we have a Big Cat Winner...which the Kougar will announce tomorrow.

Smooch for Coffee Time Romance

Yep, Big Kitties, it's here. Here!...here!....here! Another review for moi's All Shades of Blue Paradise, Siren Publishing. And meow-no, the Kougar is not telling how many steaming coffee cups she received. However, the review snippet is purr-featured below.
ALL SHADES OF BLUE PARADISE: WORLD OF THE BLUE PEARL MOON
SAVANNA KOUGAR
ISBN#: 1606010131
March 2008
Siren Publishing ~ www.SirenPublishing.com
E-Book ~ $3.99 ~ 148 Pages ~ Fantasy Romance
"This story is very erotic and sensual, with a ferocious carnal appetite that can never be appeased. The syntax is extraordinary, and flows with an almost poetic feel. I do feel, however, that the constant sexual pleasures are somewhat overpowering to the plot line of the story. This being said, I very much want to read Part II, the continuation of Sheridan and Zag’s story. Ms. Kougar has an amazing way with words that very few authors could pull off, and she does so brilliantly."
Lototy ~ Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance

Rumble-psssst...Big Beautiful Cats, the Kougaress is feverishly improving her contemporary wolfie shifter novella with the wish...wish, hope...hope it will find a contracted home soon. Paw-toesies crossed.

Purr ~ Unruffled Fur

Ah, Big Kitties, the great and mouse-hiding mysteries of the internet world. Or the mysterious functions of the Kougar's e-mailbox, which has now been adjusted to her 'unblocked' preferences. Mew-Whew, a swipe of moi's furry forehead. It's an unknown dangerous jungle out there for us tech disadvantaged types.
Purr, unruffled fur for now, Big Cats.
Given the droopy state of the Kougaress's eyelids ~ at least, heaven forbid or is that yowling heavens to mergatroid ~ she was not slaughtered on the mean terrifying streets of Chicago, as that other poor-soul cougar, who is now residing happily on the Other Side, idly lounging on a huge comfortable tree limb with the vast open prairie before him, filled with every delightful creature.
However, given moi's state of sleepiness, an unedited paragraph snippet from her WIP Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil (for Siren Publishing).
"O do open your evening jacket to me, master," she crooned, a wicked slice to her tone. "That I may so ease your little pains with the fervent licking of my lusting tongue. Or, would you prefer my tongue as I applied it to your raised and mighty ‘sword’ during Tarimudhi?"

Journey Tree Obstacles

Journeying down to her mailbox after the torrential Spring rains ~ thank you, weather goddesses and gods ~ first a gorgeous adorable cardinal lands in front of the Kougar, then *blast the eye* a major humongous dead limb across most of moi's gravel drive, branches scattered everywhere. Most sacred fortunately, the limb was dried and dead, therefore not as heavy, and the Kougaress could leverage it out of the way. Quite a large undertaking to clear away all the limbs and branches, meow-moi can tell you. So now, the weariness has taken over for the day.
The good rumbling news, on the trip back the Kougar saw another large-girth tree had fallen into the neighbor's pasture from water saturation and the winds. Roaring-yay! It would have been too large for moi to manhandle out of the way. And no guilt required since Dead Tree is on their side of the fence, and no damage caused.
Journey tree obstacles ~ a sacred message? All other obstacles in the Kougar's life path may be removed with this level of effort? Wish, wish...hope, hope...yowling-please, please...
More mewing-smiling news, the Kougar's horse drawing has been incorporated into the cover art of Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil, as a small silhouette ~ so tingly cool, Big Cats. And the candle-erotic scene continues with our heroine and hero's turn for extreme pleasures...
Lovely Big Cats take a swift stroll over to Title Magic. Renee Knowles, fellow Siren author, is our guest blogger. With a background in small business, she offers great tips for networking. Purrs below.
Renee, it is kinda strange in a way, always forming stories in your head as you're grocery shopping, etc. and trying to keep aware enough while paying, so you don't end up losing a credit card.
Thanks for joining us today. I so luv that your career is taking off!

Monday Madness

Monday mad brain, Beautiful Big Cats, and the Kougar can't keep a claw in every dish of promo out there. Not to meow-mention she had every pen-plan to continue the erotic scene in Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil, the agreement which delivers the sacred oil to Baron Zaggry. Instead, she has completed a sorta silhouette blue drawing, which may or may not be used, since it seems there is no stock pick of Lady Sheridan on a Braverth racing horse. Yowling-comments, Big Kitties?
Growl-okay, Just Paranormal Mondays is a new Yahoo group courtesy of Destiny Blaine, multi-published author with Siren Publishing. Good roaring opportunity for all, and great paranormal genre fun. Take a kitty run on over.

The Kougar did promo with review snippets. Then, moi did ask for feedback on her fang-spoof scene for Red Lioness Tailspin...should she, or shouldn't she? Include this scene in book II of Adventures of the Red Lioness.

Meow! Howling! Help! Back to writing!!!

Kiss to the Winged Messenger

Kiss to the winged messenger, Big Kitties. Upon awakening the Kougar stuck her head out the window, admiring the emerald green grass growing like weeds on her prairie, and enjoying the air, warm with Spring's arrival, and bright with the overhead sun. From the corner of her eye, the Kougaress spied a brown bird arrowing toward a tree branch. Even perched for a bit, moi could not tell what kind of birdie it was, so she sent a little message asking the bird to come closer, yet not expecting that outcome.
Yep, the deep brown birdie, medium-sized, with a pale orangey breast coloring, flew right before the Kougar, landing on top of the dried up stalk, one from last year's milkweed forest. Ready to be praised and admired, brown birdie preened handsomely, yet kept a careful watch for predators. The Kougaress cooed, speaking lovingly, using both thought and her voice. Amazingly, brown birdie boy, remained a long while, then hopping-flew from stalk to stalk, staying close.
It was a wondrous experience, Big Beautiful Cats, and the Kougar does not know if it was simply a lovely inter-species contact or a shamanic message...or both. However, the birdies are trilling and feeding, winging and swooping...probably building their nests.
Just outside moi's writing area, two itsy bitsy birdies quickly peck, concentrating on nourishing themselves.
O Winged Messenger, a message for moi?
Perhaps, the winging of her novels into the hands of those readers who would enjoy them...hope, hope.
For now, back to writing...Lady Sheridan and Baron Zaggry are winging inside his flight limo toward a carnal appointment neither one of them desires...yet one which will offer them a sacred prize toward victory in the Braverth ~ All Shades of Blue Paradise ~ Book II, Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil ~ Siren Publishing.

Smooch for Debra Gaynor ~ 5-Stars

From out of the blue ~ It's Big Kitty smile-on-my-squinchy face day for the Kougar. Yep, moi is thrilled over the moon, and body-shaky...and reclining on a lovely floating cloud.
And, she does have a huge ole' paw on the ground...finish current WIP...finish...finish...
However, with further meowing-adieu:

Gryphiz is a world two dimensions from Earth. The people evolved differently from those on Earth. Their stamina and sexual ability increased.

When Lady Sheridan saw her betrothed, Baron Zaggry, betray her, she ended the relationship without ever telling anyone why.

Psssst...any of your Coast Cats out there...it was the night of Project Blue Light.
Lazy bed kitties, check out Mel's fab post on Title Magic about e-book or print book. Long purrs below:
Illuminating, even backlit post, Mel. Adobe PDF works fine for me. Although, you can't beat the feel and smell of a paper book! Especially curled up in bed, if you don't have a light sensitive spouse.
I think both 'e' and print will be around for a long, long time to come.We humans like texture, the feel and look of print. We like the design, the moods evoked.
Whereas, e-publishing is a different experience, yet wonderful in convenience and it's own digital artistic expression, IMH.
Personally, I believe there's a lot of room for both. Look at the growth of graphic novels on the side of print. At the same time it could go digital, almost a video version of the story. There's a lot of exciting possibilities, which I hope will serve the preferences of all readers and authors.
I have to say, it is exciting to see my novels go digital. I think as exciting as it would be see them in print. Who knows, though? Until I actually hold one, the paper book in my hot little ole' hand.

The Art of Blue Pleasures

Good Evening, my patient Big Cats, today the prairie greens nicely, rising from it's winter death beneath the gray-pearl skies. The Kougar has been focused on filling out her cover art questionnaire for Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil, Book II in the World of the Blue Pearl Moon series, Siren Publishing. Under contract agreement, nada can be meow-revealed for now. Suffice it to purring-say, the process was creatively intense, a combination of fun and hard work.
Yowl-well, the Kougaress finally took the prize plunge. In the coming month The Romance Studio will give away one book a day to their readers. One of them will be Red Lioness Tamed, Liquid Silver Books, the winner being chosen by moi.

The Kougar's Dare-the-Claw Contest ~

Now, roar-announcement, for any Big Cat who reads the Kougar's blogs and cares to leave a comment, a 100 word description (or less) of a cameo character suited for either the World of the Blue Pearl Moon or Adventures of the Red Lioness series -- yowling-yes, that lucky kitty will receive a free .pdf copy of either All Shades of Blue Paradise or Red Lioness Tamed.
The claw-selection of any winners will be purely smug-persnickety subjective (with no promises made! *slash, slash of the Kougar's long tail*), and chosen only by the Kougar (it's all about the Kougar here).
As to guidelines, only your individual imagination is the limit, and some amount of decency in presentation. Your character may be one you create, or it may be you in character, one you would like to play in the story. And, if your character is used, then you will receive an e-copy of the book where the character appears, plus a tiny, wee (we're talking nano-blink here)acknowledgement. By entering this whim-cat-aloof and absolutely unfair contest, you agree to yield all ownership of your character, as it appears in the Kougar's novel.
So, if you dare, entice the Kougar's imagination...but, beware! The Kougaress adores rough and tumble play, fangs and claws included.

Happy Birthday Kiss

When it March Rains – it pours magically, sort of....
Happy Birthday kiss to moi...kisses to all my Big Cats. Here's my Title Magic Blog just for your sphynx eyes...
Today is my birthday, so I’m giving myself permission to let loose on the title of this blog and anything else. I don’t know why I’ve always held birthdays as a sacred event. It wasn’t something I was taught, or even experienced – except that in my ancient fifties’ era, birthday parties for us kids had come into suburban vogue. The fun, silly stuff. Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, playing fish for dime toys, running around, the girls all in skirt-swinging dresses, until the grownups rounded us up for the grand gift opening ceremony, where the birthday princess or prince reigned, and deigned which gifts were their favorites. Then it was the off-key, loudly sung, Happy Birthday, the occasional ‘you belong in a zoo’ version. The great mystical test of blowing out all those candles. Okay, sometimes an uncle would sneak on one of those candles that couldn’t be blown out. And always cake and ice cream afterwards, marshmallow frosting mixed with ice cream, and cake – what could be better?
Fortunately for you, dear Title Magicians and precious readers, I won’t provide a running history of my past birthdays, the good, bad, beautiful and ugly. We’ll leave that to Hollywood, when they come knocking, begging for my autobiographical screen play, perfect for the hi-def silver screen – yeah (is there a bridge I can sell ya?)...just a sarcasm-funny against myself.
No, this is a look back over the past year – before being e-published and now, as a newbie author – a giant whirlwind of a journey. So, I enter American Title IV, and to my disbelief, actually final. In the meantime, I have submitted When a Good Angel Falls to Siren Publishing, which they wanted to contract, but it wasn’t heat-sizzle enough for their line. After that angst of decision, I offer them All Shades of Blue Paradise instead, now e-pubbed, and I’m writing Book II. Also, I’ve written Red Lioness Tamed to enter into a Samhain cat-prowl contest. Which doesn’t make it, however, after several long months, Liquid Silver Books offers a contract, if I make some changes – no problem, will do. And did, and the lioness lives in cyber novel space. Meow-yay!

Exact timeline aside now, but eventually I was facing my first cover art and blurb requests. Okay, basically lots of fun for me, if a highly intense process – but, being an artist type person does have it’s advantages. Then, play the theme for Darth Vader...the edits. My heart-tripping fear is engaged. Edits were not a process I had ever done before. And, at one point, after intensely slaving over the revisions for ‘Blue Paradise’, I thought I’d lost them – hair-pulling time!!! Scream at the universe!
Happily, just my ignorance about all this tech-penning stuff. Okay, being an ancient baby boomer, it’s often been trial by learning-the-computer fire – no! don’t burn up my lovely, desperately needed computer...please, I luv you. How else do I run the gamut of slashing rain and wind toward that perfect promo opportunity, always lurking somewhere up ahead? Yep, my nerves are taking a serious beating, at times, on this side of publishing business. I have made several rookie mistakes. Sheesh, just attempting to figure it all out, is a head-dizzying wild ride. Because, bottom line, how do I connect with those readers who would enjoy my stories?
So, back to the sorta timeline. Now I’m out in the first round of the American Title...and after tons o’ chocolate, and the deep down blues, after the support of my great Title Magician friends, I come up swinging, submitting to other e-pubs. All who shall remain nameless, except for Aspen Mountain Press (contracted Tangerine Carnal Dreams) – because I’ve been writing for years and years, and have full manuscripts available – especially since my health, for the last couple of years, demands I do nothing else, except write.
And then, my release days, the first two mondays of March. Yep, magic pours through me as if I did stand beneath a pounding pouring rain. My gratitude floods through me. Not just because I am officially e-published, but also because the folks at Siren and Liquid Silver have been wonderful to work with, and, gee, I tingly adore my cover art.
The other side of the happy-dance coin. Reviews. The heart trembles with trepidation, and is there a handy rock I can hide under?
Meanwhile, Siren Publishing creates Bookstrand for book distribution and for accepting manuscripts which are not in the erotic romance genre. So now, yay-yay! When a Good Angel Falls has a new home and is due out late in 2008.
Not to mention the up and down, fast and furious winds of my daily blogging efforts at Kougar Kisses, and my forum participation with Passionate Ink, a chapter with RWA – and with the author loops. Plus, all that I have not included...this is not my diary...thank heavens, for you all.
Yep, it’s all good, but time-wise, overwhelming ~ as though constantly caught in a pouring thunderstorm.
Proudly, I will say have an article in the current Passionate Ink newsletter – just really cool to see it presented there, and the pics are incredible (thank you, Francesca).
Yesterday, in the e-mail box. The cover art request form from Aspen Mountain Press for Tangerine Carnal Dreams...yay! And help! Since Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil, book II is going so well. And who wants to interrupt the writing-flow?
To some of you, this blog may have looked like just a long promo. Nope. This is a snippet of my journey from ATIV finalist to where I am now as a newbie e-author. Offered because, ya know, it’s my birthday, a sacred time for review and a time to look forward to the future. And because it might offer insights to anyone else on this particular journey, or someone who is about to embark on this type of writer’s journey.
Yup, it’s pouring magically...sort of...and I’m standing out in it getting drenched...the good, the bad, the ugly...mostly, the beautiful.
Wowza congrats to Helen for being a Golden Heart finalist with her manuscript, The Magic Knot.
Some of the best birthday presents ever!

The Whirlwind Kisses of March

Oh, Big Kitties! The whirlwinds of March surge and whip around the Kougar, figuratively.
Moi admired her article in the current Passionate Ink e-newsletter with it's accompanying passion-exciting pics. Sign up to enjoy all the writer-helpful articles.
Then. Contracts read, signed and sent to Siren-Bookstrand Publishing. Also, a promo presentation of All Shades of Blue Paradise on the Rites of Romance yahoo group ~ thank you for the opportunity. Plus the cover art request needs to be completed for Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil. Yes, the Kougaress has her ideas spinning around in her frenzied-wild mind.
Plus, the Kougar has written her March 28 blog, The Red Lioness and Mars, for Ariana Dupre's blog site (click on listed links). Ms. Dupre is a paranormal author with Cerridwen, and her current novel, the Talgorian Prophecy, is receiving outstanding reviews.
And, the silly Kougaress blithely scheduled herself to blog on her birthday, a Sun in Aries yowl. Tomorrow. No blog inspiration, at first, of meowing-course. However, the Kougar roared through, and did a snippet-review of her whirlwind year from aspiring writer to e-published author. Which will be purring-presented tomorrow...Beautiful Big Cats.
And, wowza! In today's e-mail, finally contact from Aspen Mountain Press. A cover art request form. Hey, the Kougar is paw-tap dancing and claw-penning as fast she can. Here, on the gray-sky prairie with her daffodils blooming their gorgeous yellow heads off. And a siberian huskey looking dog digging in her pasture...hope he/she's not lost.
And...there's tons more to get done, and has been done in this e-publishing venture, this business...wowza, powza! Rumble and roar. What a whirlwind ride.
Hey, Big Cats, Helen announces her Golden Heart finalist status on Title Magic. Take a peek and congratulate her.
Helen, Good Luck! And, I've had to learn to get out of that corner too (it's a family dynamic thing). And I'm still learning, as we all do. Since it's a growth process. To toot my own horn. Congrats again. We Title Magicians are doing darn well! And I'm proud of all us.
I checked out the RT e-newsletter. American Title is kaput as a contest. But, like they say, something new on the horizon.
So, we're all the last of a breed, so to speak.
Whirlwind kisses from the Kougar...

A Day of March Miracles

A March miracle has occurred, Beautiful Big Kitties. Indeed, the Kougar was faced with a major/minor repair situation of her beloved gravel drive. A giant cave in...meow-well, it was about a foot and a half foot deep and about two feet long (lots of rain) where the tiny full stream passes beneath. Bravely, the Kougar filled her two buckets with scrap bricks, then took to her van. After dumping one pail inside with minimal filling result, she discovered where the gargantuan hole drained, down to an immense yawn of ground. *Beware! Exaggeration used for effect here.* With Spirit guidance the Kougaress discovered a big ole' slab of old concrete to block off the drainage, then filled up and got 'er done.
The miracle? Moi's strength was taxed, but yowl-amazingly, not as severely as in the past two years. Gradually, one paw-step at a time, the Kougaress is regaining her health. A grateful bow to Bast. Because this is a true healing miracle.
Moi's other miracles ~ she received her formal contracts from Siren-Bookstrand for Pleasures of Blue Lotus Oil and When a Good Angel Falls. Yay! Happy-roar! Yay!
And purring loudly about March miracles, the miracle of Easter and Spring is upon us. The froggie woggies are lustily singing to beat the birdie band on moi's tame prairie pond. Early this morning the full Mother Moon was the most glorious miracle of orange ~ not peach, not fruit orange, not sherbet orange ~ ethereal brilliant delectable orange ~ with trails of midnight blue clouds on her shining face. The Kougaress watched Lunabelle sink into the turquoise teal blanket of clouds on the horizon, before closing her squinchy eyes in slumber.
Rumble-in-awe, miracles abound this day. For, a gorgeous male cardinal preened himself, remaining on his branch as moi cooed at him through her kitchen window. Long moments later, he and his mate fed on the seed-rich un-mowed lawn.
The shamanic message? Perhaps, a trail the Kougaress should sniff out.
Most blessed Easter celebrations to all. May Resurrection live within you and your loved ones, as it lived within Christ, the holy One.
Big Cats, the miracle of tenacity and being published on Title Magic today by Guest Blogger, Susan Macatee. Moi's rumble-ramblings and Susan's comment below:
Hi Susan, late again to the party. Had to fix a big gaping hole in my gravel drive. Luv that cover too for Eternity Waits.
Congrats on your perseverance and your publishing success. Sharing your story helps and inspires us all. And way cool that your editor joined us. The Wild Rose Press is another notch up in my estimation. And I've already had a good experience with one of the other editors.
The Civil War has always been one of my favorite eras of American History. Will look forward to your novel. Mucho success!

Susan Macatee has left a new comment on the post "Guest Blogger Susan Macatee": Thanks, Savanna!I love the Civil War period and am grateful The Wild Rose Press is actually looking for romances set there.

March miracle kisses from the Kougar...
