Orange and Blue... WTF?

Daniel, an absolutely stunning photo! ~ http://flickr.com/photos/danielcheong/ ~

Pardone, moi Kittehs, for the opening bad-word acronym. Let the Kougaress make it clear she adores the color blue and the color orange. Icy pale blue is one of her favorite shades... and well, she did pen the aristocratic fantasy ~ ALL SHADES OF BLUE PARADISE. Just as she also wrote ~ TANGERINE CARNAL DREAMS ~ yep, tangerine and orange were featured as vibrant sensual colors in her sci fi world story.
But what the hell is going on? Why is light blue and orange becoming a ubiquitous combination of colors... almost everywhere moi looks. Credit Card companies, Wal-Mart... orange and blue... blue and orange. It’s enough to make this Big Cat puke. Being an absolute lover of color, the Kougaress enjoys a kaleidoscope of all colors, all shades, all hues... a palette of color ranging from blush rose to florescent green.
Come on, who wants to live in a pale blue and orange world, exclusively? Nasty headache ensuing now... and eyes crossing painfully for this KitKat girl...
What? Is everyone so enamored with light orange and blue that we as a culture must display it everywhere like some sort of unconscious sign that we’re all united?
If there must be blue and orange, why not turquoise and peach? Why not cornflower blue and a blazing shade of orange-yellow?
Color like everything else is a frequency. As such it influences us all at both subliminal and conscious levels. Color is used for healing. A certain shade of pink is used to calm inmates. Color can affect us all at a deep level depending on our individual natures and the experiences we’ve had in life.
So, what is this orange and blue crap? Some sort of corporate pablum for the masses? Created by the warped minds of Fifth Avenue to guarantee allegiance to all forms of TOO BIG TO FAIL commercialism?
This inquiring Big Cat mind wants to know. Before it mentally makes her throw up every time she’s faced with THOSE TWO COLORS COHABITING. Get a room, corporate blue and orange, and stay there! Merge, if you know what moi means, and make the color black, so we all know your true color. Black as Darth Vader.

CURSES WERE STRANGE BEASTS
~ Chronicles of an Earth-bound Goddess ~

CHAPTER TEN ~ Big Shot Damn Detective

Down, goddess girl, she cautioned herself. Her fingertips threatened to blaze like a monster-movie torch and ignite his precious SUV-thing.
“Don’t say that,” he snapped. Barked, actually.
Keziah balled her fists and thought of them as snow cones. She had a weakness for the grape ones, especially. “Don’t say what!? Mr. Copper... condom...”
“Fucking. Don’t say that.”
His gravelly voice interrupted her, unyielding as granite. Keziah snuck a peek at him and hoped he didn’t notice. Even his profile looked like the hardest stone in the solar system found in the mountains of Titan, one of Saturn’s moons.
“Don’t men just luv that crude lewd rude ‘word’?” she sarcastically sang...

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues....

Part 234 ~

Sylva scanned the woman who had halted Zeke in his tracks. She was slender, beautiful in a girl-next-door sort of way. Her forearms gleamed with a lovely tan, as if she spent summers on the beach. “Another woman you were supposed to marry?” Sylva whispered. “Zeke!” The happy excited shriek bounced from wall to wall while the woman rushed Zeke like a skinny linebacker. “I’m married, Sally,” he firmly uttered the instant she skid to a halt. Sylva doubted she’d even been seen. “Meet my bride, Sylva.” Cornflower blue eyes stared at her as if she was an imaginary object.

Zeke figured he must have used up a goodly portion of his luck finding his Sylva. Merlinda, and now Sally. What were the odds? Actually, downright favorable, given Merlinda had been waitin’ to marry him. And Sally could easily have found out he’d come to Two Springs. She’d sworn more than once she wasn’t lettin’ any other man’s lasso settle around her shoulders. Only his. “Parents in town with you, Sally?” he neighborly asked, then tucked Sylva’s arm beneath his deliberately. “No,” Sally muttered, her answer a struggle. “Where did she come from?” Hands planted her hips, she faced Sylva.

Tuesday ~ Lindsay’s Heroines
Moi’s comment mew-sings ~
Lindsay, everyone has beautifully expressed what's true about your heroines and your skillful brilliant writing.
One reason I find your heroines so appealing is because they represent their times in the sense that they overcome and live, not merely exist. And they are tough, physically and mentally, or they learn to be.
Thanks for sharing Ahhotpe. She's a wonderful anti-heroine! And she's so Egyptian. You must have lived during that time.
As women why shouldn't we write what we know... ourselves.
I have to agree with Linda. It's really tiresome when the focus of a story or a movie is solely on the man or men... which occurs all too often, imho.
Oh, big deal, who cares about fiction that constantly makes the male sex the center of the universe. Why isn't woman and man, as portrayed together, the center of their universe?

Mr. BDD will not let Keziah save his life for anything! aah to be wanted that badly! I hope she can enjoy it a little bit at least! ;)

Colors are an amazing thing. There is such a fine line between hate, hate, hating a certain color and lOOOOOOOving it! For me it's purple. I love almost all of the shades of purple, but there are a few that have no business being anywhere but outside. hehe

Gem ~ Zeke is honey to some queen bees, even if he isn't interested in them.

Serena ~ OH, Keziah does get to enjoy... later! Dalton is a persistent man.

Purple is a color I adore and can't refuse, most every shade like you say, except for some of the muddy dull muted shades.
