Connectedness...

Now there's a connection this Big Cat would like to make... me-ow.

Late night purrs and shivers, my Springtime surviving KitKats... did the cold and winds ever hit the tame prairie again... and the seesaw weather continues... but lordy, lordy meows, my darlings, the epic flooding of the Mississippi... all those precious folks losing their homes... also our beloved country is losing an *enormous* amount of farmland... stock up on food, plant gardens, grow whatever you can, learn how to sprout if you don’t know how... form bulk-buying clubs... now is the time to become farmers and ranchers.

Also, more earthquakes have struck... there was one off the Indonesian Coast and a big one in Costa Rica... all this weather, the storms, the earthquakes will get bigger and badder.

Connectedness... in that lightbulb-knowing moment, the Kougaress realized how dysfunctional [for lack of a better term]... maybe ‘unskilled’ is better... how unskilled most of us humans are at connecting with each other... it’s a weird phenomena because as a species we want to be with each other... we’re lonely for other humans... we want to love others and share ourselves, share the good times... work through the challenging times. Together. Yet, with the exception of those individuals who just naturally know how to connect... and, with the exception of those who spend a lifetime learning how to connect in good and satisfying ways... well, we’re darn inept at connecting on any kind of deep and meaningful level. Most of this is because of the social engineering that has taken place for, at least, the last century. If you’re a psychopathic group, and you want control of the world... well, you do what any good war tactician does... ‘divide and conquer’. A human community, and human families who are strongly connected with each other is your worst enemy. They’ll stand together and fight until their enemies are no more. But, if the human connection is weakened by subtle and not-so-subtle social-engineering methods over generations, then chances are, the next generation won’t recognize the different landscape as destructive to their connectedness with each other. Plus, there are the natural evolutionary changes taking place in humanity. However, if these movements, these new ways of being, are coopted by devious psychological fifth-avenue methods... well... then, you have the current state of humanity... trying to connect, wanting to connect, but not really knowing how, despite all the tech ways to keep in touch.

Friday the Thirteenth Strikes Again - Those Dang Tunnels
by Serena Shay

Friday the Thirteenth, Fri May 13th, 5/13/11 … anyway you phrase it, and it all comes down to a date most folks think of as bad. “Bad things happen on this day.” “It’s a day of murders.” “Jason’s gonna get ya.”

Mumbo Jumbo or truth? Who knows. Mostly I think it’s a state of mind, but even some of my characters are leery of the day.

Ugh, the weather has been terrible here as well...cold and rainy. :(

I read about the flooding Mississippi and the folks in Louisiana having to open a long closed spillway. It's terrible that one group has to suffer to save another.

Oooh, I'm glad to hear you've had lots of great ideas for your new WIP! :)

Hope it was warmer in your neck of the woods today.

So true about the current situation with the Mississippi flooding... I so feel for those folks, and the long-term ramifications won't be good, in terms of food production, etc.

Yep, got some good research done that backup my percolating ideas. ~smiles~

Any news on the release date for A MAGICAL RETURN?

Yep, the long-term ramifications will not be good. We as a people need to change up the way we do things.

Nope, no date yet, but I'm anxiously awaiting... ~wink~
