Meteorite Micrographs

I have shared meteorite micrographs with the Coast to Coast web site viewers in the past. These have included samples from the Moon and Mars. Well, how about some Mercurian? That's right, planet Mercury! While no meteorite is officially accepted to be from Mercury, a class of meteorite called Angrites are thought to be the most likely candidates.

This set of images are from the meteorite D'Orbigny. One of the most beautiful meteorites I have examined. This thin section was imaged in transmitted cross polarized light. The field of view is 0.40 mm. (which works out to approximately 160X depending on your monitor size)

These skeletal crystal structures are an example of the some of the features that indicated formation processes that lead to Angrites being considered as possibly Mercurian. Keep in mind these are just a few pleasant to look at examples. Much more is involved, most of which exceeds my knowledge or ability to explain.

Meow too cool and extraordinarily beautiful too. Don’t you think, my Gorgeous KitKats? For all the pics head on over to the Coast-to-Coast web site.
Warm winds today on the tame prairie...since the Kougar is making good progress on her revisions, she won’t claw-type much of a bloggie.

And the Blogger drama continues with no resolution as of this afternoon. Nope, just the suggestion that it is moi’s IP address. If that were true, sucky hecky yowl ~ what about everyone else’s IP address, everyone else who is having the same problem? And since, this Big Mad Cat can still access Yahoo chat loops with adult content warnings...nope, I don’t ROARING-think so...

Now ~ FIRST! just for the big cool cats ~

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 42 ~

Sylva ignored her fast intake of breath. Now the freakin’ hell what? Instinctively, she reached back, snagging the bedspread, then covering herself...like it actually made one damn’s worth of difference. “Lovely. Your family.” She tried a small smile and figured it looked more like a grimace. “They’ll take to you right off, honey.” He gave her a reassuring cocky grin. “Wine, please,” she prompted. Now might actually be a good time to get drunk, a condition she hated feeling, thus had rarely experienced. But then, there was always the exception. Pivoting slightly, he reached for a pinky-peach dressing gown.

Zeke unhooked the dressing gown he had chosen for his bride from the clothing stand. “You’ll look beautiful in this, Sylva.” He draped the gown beside her, hoping she would be pleased. “Besides this champagne, what other wines do you hanker for?” Tipping her face up to him, she eyed him like a bold mare. “Any whiskey, handsome?” Her need for relief shone in the depths of her turquoise eyes. “No, whiskey, darlin’. Not yet. We’ll eat first.” Zeke touched a kiss to her rose-tender mouth. “I’ll be right back.” He departed before he jumped astride her for another ride.
