What Price Liberty...

A hit and run thunderstorm tonight, my Big Lovely Kittens... now it’s nicely raining ~ a good thing for the tame prairie. Oops, another humongous downpour.
It’s a strange, strange life for the Kougar... moi has had a front row seat to the misuse of power by those paid to protect us from the criminals. More and more, those kind of stories are in the news. Corruption often rules in this day and age, sadly. And this Big Cat’s heart bleeds for the innocent who are victims of the system, for those who have a high-powered gun’s red laser light pointed at their hearts for not one wrong done, just on the complaint of a neighbor ~ a lie. No, this isn’t an isolated case or incident. This abuse of the innocent has become epidemic in our beloved nation. And, like *most* in our country, now, they are denied true justice for the wrongs done to them.
Today, in one of those moments the Kougaress calls a flash of knowing or insight, she realized that for every liberty denied to the innocent, all those who have wrongly denied liberty to the innocent will have their liberty taken... because that’s just how our Universe works. You take someone’s liberty and yours will be taken. That’s the price.
Still, living in a culture where liberty is no longer valued, as it once was, is crushing to the Kougar’s heart and soul. Whatever happened to ‘Born Free’ for humanity as well as for that magnificent lioness.

Guess what, my Spontaneous Kittens, romance author, Lindsay Townsend, has created a new blog ~ http://lindsaysromantics.blogspot.com ~ it’s a free-wheeling format which promises author news, blurbs, excerpts and all things romance.

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 72 ~

Sylva figured she should never have asked the question. Although, the question had asked itself. After all, she had no freakin’ desire to be stuck in a marriage that went sour. Worse, if she was truly happy for awhile, then everything went to hell in a handbasket... well, that was a nightmare waiting to ambush her. How many couples had she seen, madly in love, then hating each other to the point of using their own children against each other? It just wasn’t worth it. Since, he hadn’t answered, she burst out, “A job. I could get a job here.”

Zeke blinked. “A job?” He watched her glance down at her clenched hands. “Don’t women work here?” she asked, her voice too small. “Sylva, you’re my wife. You’ll have my full attention because I am your husband.” She kept her gaze on her lap. “The men in my family,” he continued, “don’t ever tire of their wives.” She still didn’t look at him. “My father and mother are friskier than rabbits during spring mating.” He didn’t add their celebration cake was filled with sexual-enhancing nutrients, as were many dishes prepared at the ranch. His mother always made certain of it.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER blog ~
This is the beginning of Monday’s blog ~
An author and her pet...
By Lindsay Townsend
Pets are good for you and that's official. Owning a pet one can stroke and pet can help to reduce stress and lower blood pressure. The unswerving support and adoration of a faithful dog or house rabbit can sweeten those rejections and make the lonley life of the writer less lonely. An author can take inspiration from the haughty self-contained grace and self-belief of a cat to keep going and keep faith in her work. A writer can talk to her pets about character and read out dialogue, secure that she will be appreciated.

Sadly I have no pets. If I were to have a pet, I would like...

...a dragon.

Last Friday, Jude blogged about why she’s a romance writer. It has all to do with living in South Africa ~ this is moi’s mew-sings ~
Jude, I've always wanted to visit Africa, see the animals, the lands, the cultures.
That dream, most likely, will never occur. However, you've given me a bit of that dream. And, I thank you.
Gorgeous, stunning blog.

Volcano’s Angelic Forecast for this week ~

Angelic Forecast ~ XXVII

“It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced such a ferocious hailstorm,” I say to the Heavenly One.
Pretending to be a leprechaun he jigs along the row of crushed daffodils perking them up with a point of his finger. I feel relief and smile at him
“First they endure 5 degree temps and snow,” I continue. “Now they’ve been beaten down by iceballs and slashing rain.” I shake my head at the wonder of Mother Nature, the Cherub kicking up his heels ~ and my brave daffodils, who seem to smile at me.
Wrapping his arm around my waist, the Heavenly One whirls me into a lively dance over the greening grasses. Our feet barely touch the ground, and I feel a lovely headiness I’ve never known.
