Kougar Accomplishment and Anniversary...

March 3 marked the one year anniversary of the Kougar’s first e-pubbed book ~ RED LIONESS TAMED from Liquid Silver Books. The date passed by without the celebration it deserved simply because moi has been under the weather and terrifically busy, as we all are. And, because our world is in the middle of the Quickening, where time and everything else accelerates. Yep, meow, tighten your seatbelts, it’s going to be an even bumpier and lumpier roller coaster ride as we plummet toward 2012, and beyond.
Today, March 10, as the moi paw-pens this bloggie edition, is the one year anniversary of
ALL SHADES OF BLUE PARADISE from Siren-BookStrand Publishing. This is the Kougar’s first contracted book.
Yes, this Big Cat girl is proud of herself and her accomplishments in the world of small print publishing. And she is grateful to Siren Publishing and Liquid Silver Books for taking a chance on a new author.

Moi had thought to present the blurbs and an excerpt from her first two, out of six now, published erotic paranormal romances. However, a change in plans since the Kougar’s publishers have presented her stories beautifully, the titles link to their respective pages.

It is soul-satisfying and just darn cool, my Big Beautiful Cats, to see my friend, Lindsay’s Townsend’s
BRONZE LIGHTNING ~ from Siren-BookStrand, released on March 10, the Kougar’s anniversary date.

Evonne what a wonderful and thoughtful blog.
Recently at the Happily Ever After blog we a mini discussion about the lack of description and the fast pacing of today's reads.
The pendulum may be ready to swing back where description is more valued by readers, especially since there are so many world-building romance novels now, as opposed to suspense.
The editor on Murder by Hair Spray wanted me to turn it into straight suspense and take out the character of Gardenia, New Atlantis, plus scenes where the heroine and hero bond... I didn't do it. For what that's worth to anyone.
As for Flash Fiction, yes, it can be seen as writing in sound bites. However, I've found in writing my serial Flash Fiction stories, it allows for more description and for more snapshots of life, rather like photo images.
My current serial flash, done two hundred words at a time and each day, so far, is at 14,400 words... who knows, for some people, maybe they only have a limited amount of time for reading, given the sheer business of our culture.

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 73 ~

Sylva heard his words, as if he branded them inside her. Hell, she was already thinking in ‘western movie’ terms. She met his intense gaze, sucked in a large breath and answered. “So, you’re saying the sexual passion endures. What about love?” Oh no, why had she asked that? Crap, where was the shovel? Maybe she could dig her way to China, since she doubted God would be so kind as to give her an earthquake. Not that she would want anyone harmed. Damnit to hell. She hunched her shoulders forward, watching the bemused glints in his gorgeous brandy-colored eyes.

Zeke flipped his fork, following it until it landed perfectly beside his plate. He grinned with an easy manner. “How important is love to you, my Sylva?” A flash-flood of red took over her beautiful face, and she swiftly looked down again. He had his answer. Jutting her chin, she raised her face, yet didn’t look at him. “Maybe, wooing is more important than love,” she softly mused. “I always thought love meant loving attention. Wooing.” She sighed deeply, despondently. “But maybe it doesn’t.” She faced him fully, her eyes bright as candle flames. “How long does the wooing last?”

HAPPILY EVER AFTER blog ~
This is the beginning of Monday’s blog ~
An author and her pet...
By Lindsay Townsend
Pets are good for you and that's official. Owning a pet one can stroke and pet can help to reduce stress and lower blood pressure. The unswerving support and adoration of a faithful dog or house rabbit can sweeten those rejections and make the lonley life of the writer less lonely. An author can take inspiration from the haughty self-contained grace and self-belief of a cat to keep going and keep faith in her work. A writer can talk to her pets about character and read out dialogue, secure that she will be appreciated.

Sadly I have no pets. If I were to have a pet, I would like...

...a dragon.
