Not a happy camper... grrrrrrrrrrr....

Pic from Coast to Coast am ~ Vietnam's 'Lost World'

Home to a vast array of spectacular caverns, Vietnam now boasts the world's largest cave passage, dubbed 'Hang Son Doong.' It is so massive that a block of 40-story buildings or a Boeing 747 could easily fit inside and an arduous five day trek into the cave only allows explorers to investigate half of the enormous subterranean world. An in-depth look at Hang Son Doong can be found at National Geographic.

Evening greetings, my Happy Snappy Big Cats... peaceful on the tame prairie...

Omygosh, the rip-off cons are in full play these days by supposedly respectable companies... in this case, the Kougaress is referring to the sinister operations of an insurance company that is attempting to make her mother sign an agreement to insure her house for, at least, twice its worth... which is most likely considered fraud, since you’re not supposed to insure a house for more than its actual worth... so take care, dearest felines... not to mention, Divine Forbid and *knock on wood*... that if the house were blown away by a tornado, it’s likely the company wouldn’t pay out the full amount... furthermore, they would likely claim that due to the housing market, the house is no longer worth the insured amount... and, getting one red cent out of them would likely involve lawyers... not to mention that since the dollar is now being flushed down the proverbial toilet, what would those dollars be worth anyway? At that point time... and, not to mention, the company could simply declare bankruptcy at any time, and not pay out anything... oh, unless, they got bailed out by the bankster-ruled congress... and then, hey, it’s back to the lawyers again.

No, the Kougaress is not a happy cat camper... right now...

Yes, she was going to meow muse about a whole other topic... a couple of deep insights... that blog may be written tomorrow. Maybe... grrrrrrrrrrrrr...

In the Moment of Creation
Please welcome guest blogger Savanna Kougar

Creation is both an act of magic, and magical. I’ve experienced that since I began writing stories. No, not as young as some authors, but when I was a young teenager.

Holy Cows!
by Rebecca Murray

Hi and welcome to your Wednesday fix of Shapeshifter Seductions. Rebecca here hoping your New Years was fun and uneventfull. This was not the case for some folks. As you may know from watching the news, fireworks in one Arkansas town managed to scared a flock of four thousand blackbirds literally to death. Australia had a flood that was literally bigger than Texas. And cows literally became a focal point for the news outlets. Yes, I said cows.

It's Never Too Late
by Kayelle Allen

It's never too late to live your dream. No matter how old you are, or how long it will take you. But you do have to start. Do yourself a favor, and start now.

You see this book cover? This book was released when I was fifty-three, and has been completely re-edited, new scenes added, and came out again when I was fifty-eight. The hero is barely out of his teens, and his heroine is older than he is. He discovers that age doesn't matter.

Snakebite Scenes: A Key to Romance
Please welcome guest blogger Carrie Lofty

Thanks to the FF&P chapter for letting me stop by today!

I'm here to talk about what I've come to call snakebite scenes. It's not a coincidence that I'll be presenting a workshop entitled “Snakebite Scenes and Hollywood Plots” through FF&P beginning on January 17. You can read more about that here.

But in the meantime, what exactly do I mean by snakebite scenes? I cut my teeth on romances during the late 80s and early 90s, which happily coincided with my fascination with the Old West. Back then, when every author and her sister decided to write Westerns, the snakebite scene became common fare. A man and a woman, thrown together in the wilds of the frontier, denying every last romantic feeling they might ever have for one another, find themselves confronted by the height of awesome, kitschy drama: a snake.

Happy Courtship on another Earth

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 738 ~

Sylva tilted her head. “But, pyramids here... on the ranch? Zeke and Marina,” she nodded toward her, “talked about the ancient pyramids being restored here... on this Earth.” Marina hopped up, about to head toward the freshly made coffee. “Yep, that’s right, Sylva, when we first met in town. I remember.” Looking thoughtful, Grant continued, “Yup, we gabbed about how the ancient pyramids could be creatin’ portals, or could be used as time travel portals. And, how it might be possible to have a portal between Earths.” The conversation flooded back into Sylva’s mind. “Time and dimensional portals,” Ginger murmured.

Zeke kept sweeping the land below with his gaze for any kind of problem or anomaly.
“Van, that’s a damn fine idea. I’ll talk it over with dad, and we’ll increase our weapons’ prowess with more frequent training.” Van skirted one of their Longhorn herds. Even so, they whirled and galloped a short distance before halting, the bulls snorting and pawing. “Used to have contests,” Van reminded. “We surely did. Then cookouts with square dancin’ afterwards. My bride might just enjoy that.” As memories swamped, Zeke, he envisioned him and Sylva dancing together, her sky bright eyes shining with happiness.

Geez, how sneaky and underhanded of that insurance company! It's a good thing your mom has you to look out for her. :)

Isn't that an amazing cave find!

Serena, yeah, I got ticked off. And, part of it was the insurance company's approach and lack of helpful info. However, I also made a mistake in understanding the situation, which is thankfully resolved.

Wouldn't you love to go on the adventure of that cave? Oh, the amazing discoveries. ~sigh~
