Nearing midnight meows, my moon-sultry strolling Big Cats... another wind-whipping day on the tame prairie... currently the glorious, golden-delicate moon is rising in the eastern sky and has waned to nearly half... oh, the colder temps are here again... still, the Kougaress rescued the most beautiful red rose bud from her bush... oh, the divine scent and the rose is slowly blooming... what a heavenly gift.

Today, as the Kougar wrote her post for the HAPPILY EVER AFTER blog, she realized the impact Sybil Leek had on her life in regards to the stories this Big Cat is currently penning. Sybil Leek is a white witch who came to prominence during the latter half of the 1960's. Not only did this grand dame influence moi in the most positive of ways back then, but now the witchy seeds she planted in the Kougaress are coming into a greater fruition, as far as moi’s heroines.

Yes, the Kougaress has never forgot Sybil Leek. She, and her books, were a blazing light in the wilderness at the time. One this Big Cat is entirely and everlastingly grateful for. THANK YOU, Sybil Leek. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Wherever you are residing in this grand, multi-dimensional universe of ours.

Awakening to my inner witch is an ongoing process. Recently, I’ve realized, at a deeper level, how disconnected my generation is from nature, from natural practices and from the shamanic practices that are part of every world culture. Even though, significant inroads have been made, with a return to that wisdom and practice, still, what have we lost?

And, why?

Paranormal romances address those two questions often, and speak to it through a fictional, happily ever after story. I believe that is ONE huge reason why paranormal romance remains a significant trend.

Sylva didn’t awaken. Yet, she surfaced enough to feel her cowboy husband’s weight on the bed. When he spooned around her and gently brought her close, she was able to snuggle closer. His big gun lodged against her ass cheeks and he spoke something she didn’t hear. Then she felt him place a kiss on the top of her head. Embraced against him, warm, and feeling cherished, she slipped deeper. Her dream images faded and the peaceful darkness arrived. When her eyes blinked open, the blazing colors of sunset slanted through a large window, and Zeke no longer held her.

Zeke watched his wife awaken. He’d been slowly savoring a cup of joe. His gaze switched from his view of the ranch to her, his Sylva. At first, he’d worried about how deep she slept. Not moving, looking almost lifeless. Only her steady heartbeat and the pink flush of her skin let him know she remained alright. When he’d woke up, he’d stayed close, moving about the room, straightening and changing some of the furnishings so that they would be set up for the two of them. He had a wife. Every part of him wanted her to be happy.

Conway Coverup: Rand Paul Opponent Involved in Obstruction of Justice

Forget the corporate media dust-up over a Rand Paul supporter attacking a MoveOn.org activist. That incident pales in comparison to a story about the brother of Paul’s opponent in the race for Kentucky’s Senate seat, Jack Conway.

On Saturday, the Louisville Courier-Journal published a story about Conway’s brother, Matthew, who resigned from the Jefferson County, Kentucky, attorney’s office to enter private practice after he was tipped off by Louisville narcotics detectives twice in the past two years that he was under investigation for possible drug use or trafficking. Matthew C. Conway was an assistant commonwealth’s attorney, a position he still holds, when detectives tipped him off on a second drug-related investigation.

In a clear case of preferential treatment and a cover-up to protect Jack Conway, the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office decided in August that no charges would be filed against Matthew Conway or the narcotics detectives involved in tipping him off.

In addition, Jack Conway became involved in criminal behavior. According to R. G. Dunlap of the Louisville Courier-Journal, the Conway brothers conferred with an attorney about the investigation. “The lawyer, Bart Adams of Louisville, then met with Police Chief Robert White to discuss [narcotics detective] Carthan’s conduct, according to the records,” writes Dunlap.

Commonwealth’s Attorney David Stengel told the newspaper that he had reviewed all of the evidence gathered by police and was convinced that Conway was neither a drug user nor trafficker. Stengel told the newspaper that he concluded that Conway had done nothing wrong except to make a “well-intended but boneheaded statement” when he denied to police that he had been tipped off by narcotics detectives. Stengel said he decided not to discipline Conway for lying because “he went back and corrected that immediately,” in other words he was allowed to change his story.

Stengel accepted Conway’s “corrected account four days later, and after another witness advised him that he had told investigators a different story.”
