Oh, the Seductive Glamor ~ moi adores such, but, no yowls-darn it, the Kougaress has not seen this vintage film. Yet. But, question: why is it Veronica Lake, starring as a witch, far outshines the male lead, Fredric March? At least, in the photos. Why is it Kim Novak outshone Jack Lemon in Bell, Book and Candle? And, why did Samantha in BEWITCHED shine like a beautiful, brilliant full moon, her light merely cast on Darren? Now, in contrast, the witchy women in CHARMED, while going through a number of lovers and would-be lovers... did have some lesser male leads when compared to their starry-luminous power... however, some of the men were deliciously boldly powerful. Is this merely because of their paranormal natures, the fact that many of them were only partly human???
Note: The Kougar found this tidbit fascinating. Evidently there is a scene in I MARRIED A WITCH where Veronica Lake is sliding down and up the stairway rail, or bannister [gee, how blatantly suggestive is that?]. Anyhoo-boo, my witch heroine, Kandy Apple, slides part way down a long bannister after stealing a painting. She’s made herself invisible to make a perfect getaway. However, hellhounds being what they are, she’s not invisible to them. Neither is her butt, covered only by her sheer black pantyhose.
So, is sliding on a stairway rail or bannister simply irresistible to a witch? Or simply irresistible?

Oh I love witch shows! Charmed is a favorite for Darling Diva and I. You know I have to wonder if the past shows were made with men in mind whereas the newer ones were focused on both men and women?
Serena, good point. That could be. Although, many shows were supposed to be for women and men. And certainly, they reflected the relationship dynamic of the times. The man as the head of the household, and the woman being dependent on him.
I do think that men have been made gradually weaker and stupider, especially as portrayed in the sitcoms... one reason I gave up watching.
There is an old slave-training technique, one used on many of the black slaves that were brought over. The strongest man was beaten and often killed as a show of power. Then, the women were told they had to keep their men in line, be the boss, or their husbands, sons would be killed. That technique effectively emasculated men.
