A Cauldron of Research

Thanks to Shara Lanel for this witch-magnificent pic...

Sun in Scorpio yowls, my gorgeous and Halloween-alluring Kittens... yep, we have entered the mysterious and subterranean zone of Scorpio... time to prepare your lair for winter and get comfortable... oh, KitKats... the sunset was blazing-splendid... swathes of intense spectacular color covered the western sky on the tame prairie... earlier, the Kougaress got caught in a short rainstorm... what is this? Two days in a row, the only time it rains, moi gets it... ~shrug~

A Cauldron of Research ~ good lord and lady!!! What a wacky weird day of research... from Spock to Vulcan, the god of fire and volcanoes... to the episode of Star Trek where Spock goes insane with the need to mate... to looking up what his wife was wearing [she rejects him] during that episode... to Remington Steele to find out the name of the lead woman character, Laura Holt, btw... and all because the Kougar’s heroine is hungry and depleted, and in need of good nutrition... okay, Kandy, Zol and Zin are traveling from Flagstaff, Arizona... not much magick allowed for several reasons... and none of them are dressed to dine... Kandy is only wearing a pale blue t-shirt... if this Big Cat author explains why, it will be a spoiler for the story... anyway, it’s Halloween day... so, pumpkin pies, apple orchards... a Fall festival... the Kougar researched all sorts of related terms and found a wealth of info, none of it useful for her story, however... and, in fact, it could be included in another story about Seneca and Trail, her heroine and hero in STALLION OF ASH AND FLAME... did you know there are all sorts of fantastic organic orchards and farms, plus Fall Festival fun places near Wilcox, Arizona? Moi had to quit reading because her eyes began to hurt, and she got dizzy... anyway, here’s one simple recipe she found:

Apple Cider Syrup

1C. sugar

2 T. cornstarch

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. nutmeg

2 C. Apple Annie’s cider

2 T. lemon juice

1/4 C. butter

Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium saucepan. Add cider and lemon juice; stir well. Cook over medium heat until think; boil for 1 minute. Add butter, stirring syrup until butter melts. Serve hot over pancakes.

4:44 am... 5:55 am... 10:10 pm... 11:11 pm... the Kougaress has to maow, she only wishes her life was as orderly as the numbers... yeee-ooowwws... 12:12 am... at the last minute.

Driving to Work Under A Full Moon
by Solara

From my kitchen window, I can watch the moon rise on one side of the house and watch the sunset from the library/den window on the front of the house. Odd feeling happened this morning as I opened the garage door and headed out to the car. I looked out over the neighbor's house that sits diagonally across the street.

Full Moon Delight

Patches of frost crested the few tufts of uncut grass sticking out across the field. Crystalline beauty danced as flickers of car headlights flashed across them and faded as they passed. Noise rushed by and silence regained its upper hand.

James waited in the shadows, watching and yearning. Would she come again? Sit and listen to his lonely howl, smiling as though she understood him. Her odor graced his palate with each breath, making him wonder why her. What made her different?

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 664 ~

Sylva shook her hair back, then smiled at her cowboy husband as he handed her a half glass of foamy milk. “Raw, darlin’. Fresh this mornin’.” He took a healthy swig while she took a sip. Remembering a time when she’d tasted raw milk before, at an exclusive, bed and breakfast restaurant a friend had treated her to, Sylva didn’t hesitate. “Even better,” she murmured, then drained the glass. Somewhat embarrassed by chug-a-lugging it down, she peered at him. “Guess I was thirsty.” After drinking his milk with gusto, he took her glass. “Nope, you’re just nutritionally deprived, sweet darlin’.”

Zeke debated whether to offer his bride more food, since she needed the nutrients, or simply put them both to bed. He surely needed rest and he knew she did. Placing the glasses in one hand, he offered his arm. “Might be time to get some shut eye. We both require some recuperatin’ time.” Giving him a little nod, she rose and took his arm. He moved them toward the side table and set the glasses down. “I’ll get the hang of how things work around here.” His Sylva stroked his forearm affectionately and with passion. “No rush, darlin’ mine.”

Fabulous syrup recipe, I bet it would taste wonderful on pancakes or even french toast. :)

Serena, me too! Which is why my hellhounds, Zol and Zin, are carrying on some of that legacy.
Zol has a Remington Steel costume. And Zin has a Spock costume.

Yeah, I like that recipe. I'm going to give it a try.
