Discovered, One Brave Tomato Plant

Evening purrs and rumbles... my sweet and sizzling Felines... cooler temps on the tame prairie... thank goodness, Summer is not arriving with a vengeance, yet... after a long period of storms and rain these past several weeks, the Kougaress hasn’t been out to check on the little pumpkins she buried... so, there were some small vines venturing forth, found once moi pulled up the bounty of growth around them... and, as she was clearing away another area, she discovered one brave tomato plant, one that had obviously grown from a seed from last year’s tomatoes... once this Big Cat had a bad injury last summer, she didn’t get out to do anything with her tomatoes... so the critters got whatever was there... who knows if tomato plantly will survive, or even produce anything edible... still, moi placed plastic jugs of water around it to shield and warm it further... and she’ll tend it as she can... and, who knows, miracles do occur.

Yep, it happened, a lovely synchronicity. As the Kougar penned her witch and hellhound story, this song came on as bumper music for Coast to Coast am. Here are the lyrics, which may very well become a part of Kandy, Zin and Zol’s love story... yes, her hellhounds love crooning to her.

Witchcraft ~ Frank Sinatra lyrics

Those fingers in my hair
That sly come-hither stare
That strips my conscience bare
It's witchcraft

And I've got no defense for it
The heat is too intense for it
What good would common sense for it do?

'cause it's witchcraft, wicked witchcraft
And although I know it's strictly taboo
When you arouse the need in me
My heart says "Yes, indeed" in me
"Proceed with what you're leadin' me to"

It's such an ancient pitch
But one I wouldn't switch
'cause there's no nicer witch than you

Taglines and Book Trailers - The Similarities

Taglines are used for many reasons, but what is their purpose?
A person's time and attention span these days is so short that you have to get their attention and then hold it.

Guest blogger & GIVEAWAY: Jessica Freely, Author of Amaranth & Ash

Good morning and welcome. I'm thrilled to be here on Romance Writers Behaving Badly today!
One question I hear a lot as an author is "Where do your stories come from?"

Moi’s mew-sings ~

Hi Jessica, congrats on your release. It is fascinating how a story takes on a life of its own and you've described it brilliantly.

There have been a lot of actor's performances that have inspired me. Adrian Paul is at the top of the list. He's a virtuoso at playing heroes in every era of history.

What makes a man sexy? Writers must answer that question every time a new hero steps into the spotlight.
Beware of E-mail Scams

RWA has received a report of a new e-mail scam making the rounds. The e-mail asks you to place a phrase and link on your website, with HTML code provided by the scammer, that supposedly links to your book on The scammer also alleges to pay authors $20 per month to link to Borders’s Sue Grimshaw has confirmed with RWA that this e-mail is not legitimate.
Also, be careful Mother KitKats, the Office of Inspector General has issued a report saying the meat served in schools is contaminated with veterinary drugs and other very nasty stuff no one should consume. No, the problem IS NOT being corrected. Nor, will it be corrected. The government, at the high levels, DO NOT care about you and your children. They only care about getting healthy foods for their families and friends. Not you!!!
Did you know that Mexico is allowed to ship disease-riddled tuberculosis-sick cattle into the US for the meat supply also?
No, this Big Cat is not a vegan, though she rarely eats meat, in part, because she can’t find a good organic supply she can afford. There are some folks who do well on the various vegan diets, and then, there are those folks with a different constitution who don’t. It is individual. To each his own.

Happy Courtship on another Earth

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 521 ~

Sylva snapped awake. “BP,” she burst out, rising to her elbow. “I have to remember.” Turning in her cowboy’s embrace, she gazed into his troubled eyes. “Sylva, darlin’, what’s going on?” Brushing back strands of her hair, he stroked her cheek with the heel of his hand. “I looked at... well, I think it was Snake’s dream. He was hooked up to a contraption... and there was this room ... I saw, I think, his remembrance of the Secret Circle. BP,” she took a breath, “I saw the BP logo, it looks the same... I mean, the Secret Circle logo looks the same.”

Zeke took a few seconds to consider his approach. “You said British Petroleum when you were dreaming. Is that BP?” His Sylva nodded, her eyes pools of dark concern. “They’re a huge oil company on my Earth. Drilling for oil, oil pipelines. They own gas stations.” All Zeke really wanted to do was ease his bride’s obvious upset. But there was too much at stake. “Gas station?” he asked. “A place to fuel cars, automobiles.” Zeke nodded, recalling their previous discussion about petroleum. “How odd is it that a *want to take over the world* company has the Secret Circle’s emblem?”

Oooh, come on little tomato can do it!! ;)

Ugh, bad meat in the school lunches...might be time to go back to bag lunches!

Serena, I think it's definitely time to be very careful about what your darling diva eats. The food supply just isn't what it used to be, in terms, of being safe and uncontaminated.
