Sylva floated her palm over the sexy roped strength of Zeke’s shoulder. “Possessive. I like that.” She hesitated, but since her cowboy seemed to speaking frankly. “Unless it... it goes too far.” Claiming her hand, her husband planted a kiss in the center of her palm, definitely warming up her sexiest parts. “What you do to me, cowboy mine.” Realizing what she’d said, while not in the throes of passion, Sylva trembled. “Cowboy mine,” she murmured again. “You see, all that cowpoke magic of yours is working on me... on my heart.” Raising his head, he smiled with his eyes. “Cowboy mine.”

Zeke fairly burst inside. Certainly his heart wanted to bust right out of his chest and embrace her tight, his Sylva. “You know what, darlin’ mine.” She arched her brows. “What?” Zeke lounged back a bit, but remained propped on his elbow. “I feel a joke coming on. Want to hear it?” His woman blinked in surprise, then nodded. “I do.” She settled back, her bright-sky gaze fastened on his face. “Now, this comes direct from my grandfather,” he qualified, “from the olden times.” She quirked her brow. “Okay... shoot.” Zeke smiled, aglow like the full moon inside. “Once upon a time...”
