HAPPY THANKSGIVING ... Bright Afternoon Moon

Pic from ~ ~ May wild turkeys everywhere enjoy life, mate and raise their young.

ALL blessings to you and yours, Big Cat Beauties... so, what is the Kougaress grateful for? Beyond the obvious, she's not certain. It feels like trying to grab hold of mist. Trying to understand the 'not' understandable. Maybe, it's such a state of transition that the past has been ripped from underfoot, and the future hasn't fully formed. Little remains certain in these times.

As well, the Kougaress has come to realize we live in such an unnatural, trauma-based society -- way beyond what she understood before, and much more brutal... a thousand times more cruel that she could have conceived of... to that realization: healing, love, compassion become even more essential to creating a good future.

Bringing forth our inner power is also crucial. Another ah-ha moment hit deeper today. That is, the human race is so powerful, so unique in good ways, there are THOSE who can't stand the competition -- psychopaths who are doing everything in their dark-side power to crush us, keep us down, and keep convincing us we're powerless. For a very simple analogy-example, look to the fairytale, Cinderella.

Bright Afternoon Moon ... it used to be that when this Big Cat observed the moon during the day, it was faint, and appeared to be mist-like, and she would always conjure up some magical fantasy of a fairy world, or think about the mist-hidden realms Avalon and Camelot.

Nowadays, the moon, at three in the afternoon, is so bright it's more a heralding beacon into the celestial realms. Because her inquiring mind wants to know, this Big Cat has to wonder WHY???

The sun has become so bright it's often unbearable to try even a glimpse. Is this because the sun is brighter and thus, the moon is brighter? Is it a lessening, changing atmosphere?  Someone has the answers, and the Kougaress wants them.

Sweet Potatoes and Maple Syrup: A Healthy Pairing

Green Med Info - According to a researcher at the University of Rhode Island maple syrup has more than 20 antioxidant compounds that may have anti-cancer, anti-bacterial and anti-diabetic properties. The researchers believe that because the sap is just under the bark which is exposed to sunlight, maple syrup contains phenolics, the anti-oxidants also found in olive oil and berries. It has long been understood that pure maple syrup is rich in minerals and an excellent source of manganese and zinc. Manganese is a trace mineral with a long list of health benefits, including maintaining healthy bones and nerves, synthesizing cholesterol, maintaining normal blood sugar levels and promoting healthy thyroid function.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
by Rebecca Gillan

No flash fiction today. I'm driving down to my Mom's house after work today and I spent all last night packing getting everything ready, and making sure my furballs wouldn't grive my dad up the wall while I am away. (They will anyway, but I made sure there were lots of treats for him to give them.) In honor of furballs and the joy they bring, I'm posting furball pictures. Have a great holiday!

Manlove or M/M...

Darling kittens, sometimes the Kougar is ridiculously naive. She's always been this way -- recalling incidents that took place in kindergarten. So, here's what she realized. She's been using the term, manlove, for M/M romance novels simply because she saw the term being used and thought it was a much better descriptor than simply M/M.

However, she recently heard this used in reference to a pedophile group, in that this group called manlove wants to legalize raping children. So, apologies to anyone who thought the word was being used as support for this anti-human, immoral, totally disgusting and inexcusably evil 'group'. This is one area where this Big Cat HAS NO TOLERANCE!!! Whatsoever.

On the other paw, there are now many who have been imprisoned and labeled 'sex offenders' by the thug-system, who ARE NOT in fact sex offenders at all, but were merely targeted and/or framed by THOSE who are corrupt. Also, when two sixteen year olds have consensual sex, NO, that is not sexual assault, deserving of imprisonment. That's normal Romeo and Juliet  behavior. Check out the ages of Romeo and Juliet, if you don't understand that reference.

Don't Like Vegetables? Let Them Eat Cake!
Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Dessert is evolving from the traditional to the unexpected: Now it's often a good way to get your vegetables.

Today's pastry chefs are going beyond carrot cake, zucchini bread, and sweet potato pie when it comes to making desserts with vegetables.

Corn, tomatoes, cucumber, squash, eggplant, celery, beets, carrots, and mushrooms are all showing up in desserts such as tomato sorbet, corn crème brulée, and chocolate-beet baked goods. Some vegetables cook in similar ways to fruits. For example, eggplant can be a substitute in many recipes for apple or pear.

Chef Michael Laiskonis says, "Incorporating vegetables in dessert recipes is more about creating a flavorful dish and realizing that vegetables have various functionalities rather than using a particular one for 'shock value' alone."

Vegetables can also be substitutes for high fat ingredients; the creamy texture and fat content of avocados make them a great substitute for fat in ice creams, gelato, and mousse. In addition, vegetables can be a colorful natural alternative to artificial colorings due to their pigments.

Homeland Security Wants to More Than Double Its Predator Drone Fleet Inside the US, Despite Safety and Privacy Concerns EFF - Despite renewed criticism from both parties in Congress that domestic drones pose a privacy danger to US citizens-and a report from its own Inspector General recommending to stop buying them-the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has indicated it wants to more than double its fleet of Predator drones used to fly surveillance missions inside the United States. Yesterday, California Watch reported that DHS signed a contract that could be worth as much as $443 million with General Atomics for the purchase up to fourteen additional Predator drones to fly near the border of Mexico and Canada. Congress would still need to appropriate the funds, but if they did, DHS' drone fleet would increase to twenty-four.

Cancer Victim Forced To Go Through TSA Body Scanner Despite Opting Out Paul Joseph Watson - Infowars has received multiple accounts of travelers saying they were told by TSA screeners that they were mandated to go through the body scanners, despite the fact that Americans have a legal right to opt out and be subjected to an "enhanced pat down" instead. "I was in the New Orleans airport and asked to opt-out. They made me go through the x-ray AND I had to go through a pat-down. I'm sure that is in violation of the TSA policy. I was reduced to tears," writes Lynn Baker.

Exceptionally grave damage: NSA refuses to declassify Obama's cybersecurity directive  RT - The National Security Agency has shot down a Freedom of Information Act request for details about an elusive presidential order that may allow the government to deploy the military within the United States for the supposed sake of cybersecurity. The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) reports on Tuesday that their recent FOIA request for information about a top-secret memo signed last month by US President Barack Obama has been rejected [PDF]. Now attorneys for EPIC say they plan to file an appeal to get to the bottom of Presidential Policy Directive 20.

Doctors billing Medicare for patients' unneeded, expensive tests
(NaturalNews) A new study just published in Online First by Archives of Internal Medicine, a JAMA Network publication, concludes that diagnostic tests are frequently repeated on Medicare beneficiaries when there's absolutely no compelling medical reason. It seems obvious the only other explanation is for physicians to make more money by billing Medicare numerous times for repeated tests for the same patients.
