Billy Jack ~ An Apt Metaphor

Billy Jack, played by Tom Laughlin, creater of the 1971 eponymous film, wasn't above using violence to get the bad guys and protect the innocent.
~ sptimes.com/2007/08/19/Features/Is_it_time_for_Billy_.shtml ~

Nighttime snarls of frustration, my Valentine lovely Pussycats... yes, frustration has a grip on this Big Cat, right now... at least, the frigid temps didn’t last all day on the tame prairie... oh, and the sunset was absolutely color-spectacular... early on, though, the sun appeared to be enormous in size and brightness... the sun is changing in major ways currently... how much are those changes and what’s in the atmosphere... well, who the heck-yowls know... yet, the Kougaress has never seen the sun looking as large as it does these days.

Be careful out there, darling Big Cats. If you’re using natural gas in your home, or are close to older lines, many of those have not been maintained correctly over the decades.

Billy Jack ~ An Apt Metaphor... Billy Jack, the movie, is an almost perfect metaphor for our times... for some reason known only to the universe, and this Big Cat’s higher self, she recalled the movie... and began contemplating her experience of it, lo those many decades ago. That’s when it clicked, the metaphor. The heroine represents how Americans are being treated by the government. *Thugs* brutalized her and violated her innocence as a human being. And the gov is thug central these days. Gosh, that came home in a sad way. Watching folks filled with fear, and run like scared rabbits over taxes, and filing taxes. It’s so pathetic to see people that scared of the gov and the IRS thugs. And, not just them. This Big Cat lives in total fear, ‘not’ because she’s done anything wrong, but because it’s no longer a matter of ‘doing’ anything wrong... it’s whether THEY want to get you for whatever reason THEY want to get you... the law be damned. In fact, there is no way to follow the law when it comes to taxes because the codes often contradict or conflict with each other, to such a degree, no one can correctly interpret them. Not the CPAs, not the IRS agents. True experts will tell you that. This means THEY can get you for doing something wrong that you had no idea was wrong.

But, what about Billy Jack himself? There aren’t enough Billy Jacks to go around to save all of us. Not in these times. Somehow we have to become the hero in our own story, and join with each other as heroes, as heroines. The more we stand with each other, the more we all win. It’s time to rebuild our republic.

~~~ IT’S ALMOST HERE! THE VALENTINE’S SPREAD THE LOVE BLOG HOP ~~~
~~~

In response to the latest review of BRANDED BY THE TEXANS at My Earnest Reviews. The reader obviously did not like the way the dialogue was done ~ to quote: *the dialogue was so trite and so off-putting*... yep, all of us have different preferences as far as dialogue, and as the author, this Big Cat understands that. However, she intentionally created the more archaic and poetic cowboy lingo, used by Dillon, Dono and Dash, for her alternate world. Why? Because the Kougar adores language, the sound of words and phrases... because she adores how language is used to emote, to express feelings, to make love with mere sound, and as a natural foreplay between women and men. The English language as commonly used in today’s world [except for music, song lyrics, poetry, prose, some novels] is *off-putting* to the Kougar’s ear and her sensibilities. There’s nothing sexy about it, for the most part, to her ear. There’s nothing romantic, erotic and passionate about the way phrases are used and words are used, or how those words ‘sound’ when spoken. In the Kougar’s opinion, the English language as spoken during these times DOES NOT woo a woman’s senses, or a man’s libido... does not tantalize a woman’s ear, or her desires... and does nothing to enhance a woman’s sense of herself as beautiful and desirable. A man’s man culture, that cherishes women, would naturally and organically create a way of speaking and expressing that appeals to women. In general, that is. Obviously, this way of speaking and using language would not appeal to this particular reader, should a man use it in her presence. That is ‘not’ meant as a snarky remark. Because we are all individuals and we all have different love-passionate-sex turn ons. To be brutally honest, while an erotic love scene will tantalize and excite, much of the dialogue used in erotic romance is ‘not’ a turn-on to the Kougar. So, she doesn’t and won’t write dialogue that way. And, given a reader, who lives in Texas, ‘loved’ Branded, and made no complaint about the dialogue... well, a real Texan outweighs someone who wants a differently written dialogue anywhere, anytime. And, THANK YOU, to the reader who said what she likes about the Kougar’s books most, is the dialogue.

And, yeah, if you’re ‘not’ a dialogue-lover don’t read the Kougar’s books because you probably won’t like them.

Thursday Thirteen - 13 Mistakes Women Make in Bed
by Mary Quast

I've invited Erick McAlister here to post today's Thursday Thirteen. He is the sexy hero in Tormented Soul and has lots of sexual experience from which to base his post upon. Erick...

Thank you, Mary... I think. I don't consider myself a hero, (heh, heh), but I do have a... let's say, colorful past.

Today I decided make a list of 13 mistakes women make in bed.

EPIRACY ~

The Astatalk users have found a new home. Viprasys. This place isn't new, by any means. It's just suddenly more popular.

This is the link to the ebook section: http://www.viprasys.org/vb/f67/

Since Monday (the day Astatalk took down their fiction section) Viprasys has added to their ebook section 27 pages of releases (20 posts per page). They have over 600+ pages, as well as an audio book section. Looks like the usual updates is 5 pages of releases in any given day, so this is a definite increase.

We knew they would migrate, so this is no huge surprise. As usual, create a dummy account so you can locate the file host and get your books taken down. Remember Vipyrasys is only where they share the links to the file, not the file itself.

I personally don't know how Viprasys reacts to takedown notices, but I'm sure it won't be anything nice. So if you plan to send them a DMCA use a public computer, like at a library so they tag that IP address rather than your actual one at home.

According to Quarkbase -- http://www.quarkbase.com/viprasys.org -- the ISP provider for Viprasys is Ecatel -- http://www.ecatel.info/?p=contact_us – based out of the Netherlands (again).

NOTE - This is all genres of fiction, not just romance, but their romance titles make up the majority. Pass this info along.

STRANGE DAYS
ENTOMBED PTERODACTYL

On February 9, 1856, The Illustrated London News carried the sensational story of some French railroad workers who accidentally freed a live pterodactyl from a gigantic boulder of Jurassic limestone. The crew had been carving out a tunnel between the St. Dizier and Nancy rail lines when a shockingly large shape with a long sharp beak and leathery wings staggered toward them, silhouetted in the tunnel's dim light. The flying reptile opened its wings, which spanned nearly eleven feet. It flapped them briefly, gave out a dry gasping sound, and toppled at their feet, dead. Its skin was black, thick, and oily, it had talons where feet should have been, and its mouth was bursting with pointed teeth. The rock it had escaped from held a cavity containing an exact mold of the creature's form. Scientists had supposed that the last pterodactyl died 100 million years ago, but apparently the creature had been locked inside the boulder for millions of years.

Rain Making
Tuesday, February 8, 2011

A new, detailed record of rainfall fluctuations in ancient Mexico that spans more than 12 centuries will help us understand the role drought played in the rise and fall of pre-Hispanic civilizations. If there's a drought in OUR future, we'd better learn how to make it rain. The Middle Eastern country of Abu Dhabi is doing just that, causing 50 rain storms in the desert during that past year.

A new tree ring study reveals that there was a large ancient drought in the Southwest United States that extended into central Mexico in the first century AD, where it may have devastated the local maize crops, giving a fatal blow to the declining Toltec culture. This knowledge also provides new insights into the Aztecs's rise to power, and into the spread of exotic diseases that Spanish Conquistadores brought to America. Paleoclimatologist David Stahle says, "Certainly these cultural changes were very complicated-- probably not one single explanation can account for the collapse of the Mayan civilization."

So how does Abu Dhabi plan to solve this problem? They have erected huge fields of giant ionizers that generate waves of negative ions which rise into the lower atmosphere and attract dust particles. The dust particles then attract condensation from the air, and when enough of this is achieved and the clouds are "seeded" and can't hold any more water, the rain comes down in a downpour. The Natural News website says, "So for those who raise their eyebrows when you say 'weather control,' just answer them with 'Abu Dhabi.' Fifty thunderstorms prove it already works."

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 773 ~

Sylva had never felt so complete. There was no denying this deep sense of completion. But, what did it really mean? That question niggled at her. Was this a spiritual connection, two becoming one? Did it mean she was losing herself? Or, had she found herself? “Sylva,” he cut through her mental gymnastics. Almost as if he knew. “Cowboy, you sure do feel good. And what bronc ride.” She nestled her cheek against his chest. “Oh, Zeke.” The words had simply popped out. Unbidden. “Darlin’, you’re right as rain. Don’t ever forget that. Never forget.” He stroked over her hair.

Zeke felt his woman’s uncertainty about what they shared, despite how she lovingly kept herself draped on him. Despite the flow of goodness between them. The natural closeness of a husband and wife after carnally loving each other. Still, it was a matter of time and adjustment for his bride. Of her trusting him more and more to care for her, to know her. “Never forget,” she murmured. “It’s so strong. What I feel for you. I... I...” Zeke pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “No worries... well, that is, except for the family dinner,” he teased.

SNARL AND SNARK ~

This Big Cat never had much fondness for the bloody ‘off with their heads’ French Revolution. However, with the current corrupt aristocratic behavior of Barry Soetoro, the administration in general, plus the legislative and judicial branches of the government... well, they get to wine, dine, burn energy like its going out of style, jetset around the world... all the while saying hey, we’re cutting energy allowances and food allowances, and taxing you to death.

OMGosh... How cool, but kinda sad about the Pterodactyl story. Incredibly amazing that it could have lasted that long, but boy the pain of a long, lonely death entombed in rock is aweful to contemplate.

Serena, that is one bizarre and sad story! However, there have been rare Pterodactyl sightings during these times. So, I wonder how long it was entombed?
