Scouting for New Directions

Time for some tropical heatin' up... don't you think?

Oh-maow-goodness, my ever-lovin’ Big Felines, it’s still frigid temps on the tame prairie, despite the supposed weather warm-up... the snow was falling steadily... and long enough to fill in all the tracks and put a fresh layer on... even so, the Kougaress spun her tires a bit to get unstuck... nope, there hasn’t been this type of winter for a few decades... with the constant cold temps and the snow.
Dang and yowls, looks like Great Britain is also in the grip of the Arctic cold and snow...sympathies... sympathies to everyone in the deep freeze.
~~~
Yep and wishing for some more pep, the Kougar is scouting for new directions in how to promo her bookies so that the readers who are interested find them. Truth to meow, something feels off kilter, as if she’s missing a good opportunity. Since so much is fluid these days, with the transition toward ebooks and POD. Also, the old way of marketing print books by the Big Publishers has become an expense they can no longer bear as much as in the past, especially with the current state of the economy... so, what are the new opportunities for communicating with readers?
Moi will be keeping an eye out. Sure purrs, there are those ways she hasn’t tried or done, for example, the book vids. This Big Cat author only has dial-up, which is a killer when it comes viewing vids. Of course, owning enough time to accomplish every promo method out there... it ain’t going to happen.
Still roars, this is the year of communication. New opportunities and ways of marketing will emerge and moi will be on the lookout for what truly works, or could develop as a good way with time.
~~~
Meow of course, scouting for new directions in your life, at this time, is a damn good thing too.

At THE PINK BLOG ~ Carrie Lofty: A Scoundrel's Kiss

Here’s the blurb, but you have to read the excerpt! Race on over for a sensual, poignant and extra-heat applied scene.

A SCOUNDREL'S KISS

Blurb:

Turning his back on his old life as a rogue, Gavriel de Marqueda has joined a monastic order in Spain and taken a vow of chastity. Before he becomes a monk, he must pass one final test: help a woman who has lost her way. But when he lays eyes on Ada of Keyworth, he is tempted beyond measure by her sultry beauty and dangerous curves...

Far from her home in England, Ada has been battling inner demons for more than a year. When she discovers that her only friend has abandoned her, she has no choice but to grudgingly accept Gavriel's help. But Ada is not fooled. Though Gavriel wears the robes of a monk, Ada sees that he is a virile man who looks at her with a hunger that matches her own--one that begs to be satisfied again and again....

The Kougar added to her latest 1,000 word flashie, The Ice God Cometh, to her FLASH FICTION COLLECTION at TextNovel ~
Comment ~ while there doesn’t seem to be a large amount of interest by those readers, there is enough to continue... besides, it feels kinda cool, so far.
There is a new contest with a $1,000 prize.

NOVEL SISTERHOOD, the yahoo chat loop for romance authors, has undergone some recent changes in leadership, and is in the process of looking at new directions. The Kougar will be scouting out this group as a way to participate more on the chat loops, since Lindsay Townsend, historical romance author extraordinaire, is one of the new moderators.

Happy Courtship on another Earth

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 374 ~

Sylva emerged from her slumbers, a soft lovely trip that felt as if she floated on clouds. Bacon, was that the smell of bacon? Yet, it didn’t quite smell the same as she remembered. Smokier. Sharper. The fragrance was somehow more delicious. Sylva decided she wanted to keep dreaming. That fantastic tantalizing odor was probably only part of her dream. Not her real life. Rousing herself a bit, she rolled and writhed sensuously on the amazing sheets, on this wonderful bed. God, everything felt so good. If only she could keep dreaming that her life actually felt this wonderfully good.

Zeke uncovered one of the breakfast dishes. The delicious smell of prime bacon filled the dining room. Hungrier than a bull after breeding season, he scooped food onto his plate, then moved to the window overlooking the town’s park. A mist-like rain continued and he swore he’d never seen the land lookin’ so water-saturated. Letting his appetite rule, he ate heartily. Soon, though, he craned his neck for a sight of the sun. Silvery, but brighter than before, the sun owned the sky’s midpoint, and moved on the other side of high noon. Was an Ice Age on the horizon?

RANDOM RANTS AND ROARS... OR, GET IT OFF HER FURRY CHEST...
Or, the food you put on your table is fast becoming an endangered species.

Wouldn’t the Kougaress just love to see what’s she calling the Pickup Brigade. In Canada there is a group that stops foreclosures of family farms, an extremely endangered species here in the US, and in Canada, right now... by getting in their pickups and surrounding the property so law enforcement can’t enter and throw the people out.
Wouldn’t that be nice if we were all doing that for each other now?
With the rampant and hideous corruption... with the horrible cruel burden of taxation these days... and with the BIG FACTORY FARMS out to intentionally destroy ALL competition by hook or crook... yep, wouldn’t it be nice if we were all doing that for each other?
Besides, if we don’t, we won’t be eating very well, or very much in the future. The Factory Farms are notorious for producing crappy food with little nutritional value. They want slaves who are forced to buy their nasty stuff. Even worse, the way the animals are treated is, overall, beyond any cruelty committed by any individual.
Why are individuals prosecuted while the BIG FACTORY FARMS are allowed to continue inhumane treatment of animals on a massive unbelievable scale?
For the big picture of what has truly been done to your food... as in now there’s no Vitamin A left in potatoes and tomatoes don’t have the Vitamin C content they once did, compared to 1963 potatoes and tomatoes... check out ~

Ooh, looking for promo ideas. Me too. PI is doing a Promo workshop in Feb...I'm checking it out, that's for sure. :)

Serena ~ hmmm... I wonder if it'll be the same ole, same ole... or, if there'll actually be some viable new directions for me?
Since I'm restricted by dial-up, I have to look at what will work for that too.
I dunno. I'm beginning to wonder what's really out there, or what can be created that isn't already out there.

I hear ya. You already seem to do a lot of great promo! I on the other hand struggle with it...LOL Probably because I'm shy ~bats my kitteny eyes~

Something brand new would be wonderful to figure out for sure. I'll put my thinking cap on! ;)

Serena, I can relate. Maybe, if we both put our thinking caps on, we'll come up with some winning ways.
