Oh, my darling-est Big Kittens, the Kougar is supposed to be napping... nope, she’s been dealing with a stupid unstable wordperfect program... yowls of complete misery!...~~~
Anyhoo and mew... the sad quandry of this Big Cat romance author... whether to remain a member of the RWA, Romance Writers of America, or not... it seems like the authorly biz smart thing to do, yet it goes against the Kougar’s conscience because of the many policies she disagrees with, regarding how small print/e-authors are treated... often, as if they are second class.
While the Kougar realizes transition from the current Big Boy print model takes time, still, so many of the policies are truly deplorable and not even defendable, in moi’s opinion, of course.
The sad quandary, if she doesn’t renew her membership, that means she will no longer be eligible to be a member of Passionate Ink or FF&P... and there are probably other benefits the Kougar isn’t recalling at the moment.
Truth is, this Big Cat author doesn’t know what to do. Going against her conscience... not a good thing. It’s also not a good thing to lose things that are important to the Kougar like Passionate Ink.
What to do...??? oh, sad, sad Kougar girl...

I know at one time, I thought it would be all-too-cool to have my vision of a nightclub. I had it planned out, designed... and, damn, if it wouldn't have been dancing-grand.
My concept has changed over the years... but, it would still be ultra cool. Right now, I think a supperclub would be fun to design and bring into being.

With her hips swaying to an imagined tempo, she moved closer and closer, finally settling herself on her cowboy husband’s lap. “A slow taste,” she drawled provocatively, raising an eyebrow. “A slow taste, darlin’.” Gently capturing her breast, he fondled the side fullness, his touch lazy and perfectly seductive. Sylva burned, dizzy with the heat.
Zeke filled his palm with the bountiful swell of his Sylva’s breast, and caressed to a molasses-slow rhythm. Everything inside him throbbed with excruciating pleasure, and with excruciating ache. The abandoned expression that shaped his wife’s exquisite features held him enthralled, just the way she held his soul. His gaze fastened on her ripe, deep pink lips, slightly stained by the strawberry juice. “Darlin’ mine,” he whispered. She moaned, a sultry low song of passion. “Keep doing what you’re doing, cowboy. It’s driving me absolutely crazy.” Her hands stroking his forearm, she leaned back against his arm, offering her breasts.

Aah, should I stay or should I go. I've had the same internal battle with myself as well. I can tell you that what I finally decided was that I had to be in it to win it, or in this case to make change happen. Unfortunately, it is slow going, but I'm trying to keep hope alive. :)
I too would miss PI, I've learned so much there. There is also Romance Diva's which is another awesome group and they are free with no need to be a part of RWA.
Good luck making your decision.
Serena, I did rescue the file... thank god! I haven't had that much trouble with wordperfect, but when it does happen, it's a b-i-t-c-h. And I'm not that savvy about all that stuff anyway.
There might have been a much easier way to deal with it... shrug.
Romance Divas is awesome, what I've seen of it... it's also hard on my little dial-up... plus, I find it overwhelming. My nature doesn't operate that well in that kind of social network... just me.
Yeah, I understand your decision. I don't think there's actually a wrong or right here. It's whatever individually works. And that I don't know.
