...hunks of cowboy goodness...

One hunky cowboy, anyway...

Sunday into Monday, New Year meowsers, my jive and jumpin' Hep Cats... a colder, blustery day on the tame prairie... yeppers, that wind was kicking up a storm, except no storm came in... tonight the half-moon is hanging high above with Jupiter as a companion, a splendid sight... last night, the dog star, Sirius, ruled the inky sky in spectacular fashion... there was a strange oblong-shaped cloud in an otherwise cloudless sky that hung over the barn during the afternoon... it was there for a few minutes that this Big Cat observed, then was simply gone... Mr. Strange Cloud should have been seen floating away or dissipating...

Authoress news and mews ~

The Kougar has made some good writing progress on her latest WIP ~ Her Midnight Stardust Cowboys. And is she ever hoping to continue!!!

From the Kougar’s Writing Den ~ Her Midnight Stardust Cowboys

The last six sentences written from Chapter Ten:

She whipped her gaze back and forth nailing them both. "You two may be hunks of cowboy goodness, but I'm not in the market...damn! I'm hungry." Sherilyn devoured the rest of her cookie, and snatched up another one.

"Tell you what," Dontoya unfolded his tall frame, standing, "I'll go get your room ready and let Zance-dog explain why you'll be needin' it real soon."

With a knowing twinkle in his eye, Dontoya gave Zance a grin, then strode toward the archway that led back to their bedrooms.

"And why will I be needing it real soon, Zance-dog?" she asked around a mouthful of cookie.

A special claw attack by the Kougar. So, today, the first day of 2012, this Big Cat author was notified about a review at Smashwords for SANTA BABY, SEVERAL STARS AWAY. Given her thin-skinned nature, she clicked over with trepidation, never expecting to find what she did. The very individual who illegally put Santa Baby up as a *free* download... and thank you to Josh Jones for removing the Kougar's book... had the absolute unmitigated gall to then leave a so-so review. The Kougar notified Smashwords about this individual's e-piracy, so stay tuned for an update on that situation.

AUTHORS/ASPIRING AUTHORS ~ A most excellent and wise blog!

Why We Should All Hug a Self-Published & Indie Author

On Wednesday’s blog, Why Traditional Marketing Doesn’t Sell Books, there was some really cool discussion about self-publishing–why it was horrible, would bring the doom and destruction the Mayans foretold, or even why it was the greatest invention since Pop Rocks. Today I am going to be a tad controversial and share my thoughts and opinions about the developments in our industry and why I, personally, want to hug the self-published author.

Clash Between Mercury and Mars!

With Mercury and Mars butting heads on the very first day of the year, the new year will be off to a feisty start!

On January 1, Mercury in Sagittarius sits in a challenging 90-degree angle to Mars in Virgo. Under the Mercury-Sagittarius influence, you'll find yourself blurting out whatever's on your mind -- not with the intent of hurting anyone, but simply because the impulse will get the better of you. Mars in Virgo adds to the fiasco with its own hypercritical, tactless approach to people and problems.

There isn't much of a chance that you'll get through the day without ruffling at least a few feathers?and it's likely that your own feathers will be equally ruffled by others. The thing to keep in mind is that, while all this is definitely frustrating, it does have an upside!

This is your chance to get certain issues out in the open. Once everyone is aware of any problems at hand, you can all work together to fix them. And once that's happened, you'll be able to move forward so much more smoothly.

Initially, this may feel like a challenging way to start to the year. But it's actually a terrific way to kick it off!

Moon in Aries squares Sun in Capricorn: Impulse Versus Caution

The theme of tempering potentially reckless behavior continues as we move into this brand-new year. Indeed, a pioneering spirit is welcome as long as humility and caution are factored into the equation. A delicate balance between action and patience is required as 2012 comes into focus. Honor the radical warrior within, but be sure all your actions are steeped in integrity.

Oh mercy, that takes some nerve to pirate a book, then leave a so-so review on it...

What an intriguing article about self/indie publishing!

Yeah, it was an intriguing article, and I appreciate her writing it.

Yep, and there was her picture bold as you please on her Smashwords page. Not to mention Smashwords puts a statement upfront about NOT epirating their books.
