Gumby, a Desperate Sign of the Times

In this surveillance video taken Sept. 5, 2011 and released by the San Diego Police Department showing a suspect dressed like Gumby telling a convenience store clerk he is being robbed, fumbling inside the costume as if to pull a gun, dropping 27 cents and leaving. Police say the attempted robbery took place Monday Sept. .5, 2011 at a 7-Eleven in Rancho Penasquitos, Calif. (AP/Photo/Siego Police Department)

Big Cat Note: Blessings to this obviously very desperate individual. And, yes, the Kougaress cackled like a hyena for awhile because the pics tickled her funny bone big time. BTW, if you have a Gumby costume, burn it. Also, being Gumby for Halloween might not be the best idea this year. Knowing the current ‘law enforcement’ system, that will make you guilty whether you are, or are not.

Meowsa, my frolicking and fine Felines... gosh, the Kougaress is enjoying the cooler dry-air weather on the tame prairie, that is, except for the allergens... these are precious blue-sky days here, since all too soon bad weather of some sort will likely move in.

Authoress news and mews ~

Well, nope, the Kougar’s short story, THE PANTHER AND HIS SAGE QUEEN, did ‘not’ make it as a finalist for ARE’s Just One Bite Contest. Onward and upward... as they say. This may be an ideal opportunity to try Indie publishing. Though, it is daunting, what all must be accomplished.... yeee-owwws!

The Kougar is posting Pat Cunningham’s blog, How to Grow a Series, for the Friday post at Romance Writer’s Behaving Badly ~

Eastern U.S. floods force thousands of evacuations

Big Cat Opening Commentary: The following article is nothing more than an absolutely disgusting demonstration of how a *payoff and a payout* works in the current mafia-like political system. Instead of fair-trade and free-market products that are of true benefit to all of us... oh no! It’s all about draining the life blood out of good Americans. Then ‘they’, the corp-gov whore parasites, have the brazen nerve to pretend they’re doing something about it by sending in the FBI, many of whom are corrupt to the core. Where are the GOOD VAMPIRES when you need them? That’s what this Big Cat wants to know. There’s a dining feast of bad guys and gals just waiting for you to sink your fangs into, and enjoy.

US agents search California solar firm

FREMONT, California (AP) — FBI agents executed search warrants on Thursday at the headquarters of California solar firm Solyndra, which received $535 million in loan guarantees from the federal government before filing for bankruptcy last week.

Agents executed multiple search warrants at the company's headquarters in Fremont as part of an investigation with the Department of Energy's Office of Inspector General, according to FBI spokesman Peter Lee. Lee said he could not provide details about the investigation.

Solyndra is a solar-panel manufacturer once touted by President Barack Obama as a beneficiary of his administration's economic policies. It announced last week that it was laying off 1,100 workers and filing for bankruptcy.

The company was held up as the model for government investment in green technology. In addition to the $535 million loan guarantee, it received visits from the president and other state and federal officials.

It filed bankruptcy amid hard times in the nation's solar industry. The price for solar panels has tanked, in part because of heavy competition from Chinese companies, dropping by about 42 percent this year.

Republicans have been looking into the Solyndra loan guarantees for months. The House Energy and Commerce Committee subpoenaed documents relating to the guarantees from the White House Office of Management and Budget.

The company is also being sued by workers who were abruptly laid off after last week's announcement. ~news.yahoo.com~

I know some authors who love the indie publishing route, but I don't know if I have the energy for all the promo! Good luck if you decide to give it a try.

Gumby? Seriously, if you're going to rob a place wouldn't you want a costume that would make the get-a-way easier? hehe I wonder if this was a dare rather than a real robbery attempt?

Blessings indeed to this poor soul...

Bummer about the Are contest. Indie seems to be a very hot iron right now... :)

Bree, thanks. I'm looking at ways to stick the toe in the water.

Serena, I almost couldn't believe that pic of Gumby. I had to stare at it for several seconds. But, mygosh, I owe that individual, because I laughed so hard.

Can you imagine if you're clerking at a convenience store, and Gumby comes in to rob you. Unless, he was aiming an Uzi, I think I'd just start laughing crazily.
