Dazed and Amazed... not the good kind...

A little Labor Day weekend relaxin'... oh, yeah...

Saturday into Sunday yowls, my precious and prescient Kittens... a bit of nice rain on the tame prairie, and it certainly brought the temps down... yay! Now, for the high strangeness portion of this post... this Big Cat has heard several loud, loud sounds recently, outside, that sort of sound like thunder, but isn’t... at least, not any kind of thunder the Kougaress has heard before, and there’s never any stormy weather around... also, it doesn’t sound like a sonic boom either... as this Big Cat remembers them.

Dazed and Amazed... this is a phrase one lady eloquently and pithily used in a written statement about the poor quality and the endless stupidity of news reporting these days... good gosh, it’s just a casino of bright-flashy, soap opera, mindlessly inane stories that have little to do with any current reality, but is based on some kind of bizarro myth that has been propagated, since, at least, World War II times... many Europeans, and those who live in other countries ‘laugh’ at Americans now because the news here is far more controlled than in Russia, and throughout the rest of the world. Yes, there are intrepid, outstanding reporters and investigative journalists. However, often, their stories are suppressed, or relegated to where most folks will never find them. So, how many Americans know we are now the laughingstock of the world in this regard? Guess, that hasn’t been ‘reported’... huh?

Like spices? Check this out, my darling KitKats ~

Eating meals laced with paprika and cinnamon ‘protects your body from effects of fatty foods’

Eating a diet rich in spices such as turmeric and cinnamon can protect you from the physical damage caused by fatty meals, say scientists.

A team from Penn State University has found a blend of antioxidant spices can reduce the stress that high-fat foods can place on the heart.

Note: the Kougaress has always adored certain spices, and has a yen for spicy food at times. It’s been well known for the past couple of decades that using cayenne and hot spices, for example, prevents cancer, especially stomach and intestinal cancer. Cayenne also feeds the heart, improves circulation, and has cured some folks, so they don’t undergo bypass surgery. Spices, in general, contain substances that are good for your health. Most over the counter and prescription medications are based on the use of spices, but adulterated which causes the side affects. Tylenol is based on the spice, turmeric. Gee, why not just used the organic spice, especially since turmeric has been lab-proven to be healing in ways the use of medication never could. ~shaking kitty head~

NOTE: Interesting idea, but who hasn’t thought of it? But then, of course, thinking of an idea doesn’t get it off the ground, necessarily.

Words and music: should books have soundtracks?

~ guardian.co.uk/books/booksblog/2011/sep/01/books-soundtracks-booktrack ~

A new company, Booktrack, is devising book-length soundtracks for novels and non-fiction. Is it a good idea? Or do we risk losing the serendipitous soundtracks that already accompany our reading?

The Virgo Sun Magnifies Jupiter's Good Luck!

September is off to a wonderful start as the hard-working Sun in Virgo shines a friendly spotlight onto fortunate Jupiter. You'll feel a boost of enthusiasm and confidence that is sure to get you moving in the right direction this month!

When the Sun and Jupiter meet, you're pretty much guaranteed to have a good day. There's potential to turn that good day into something amazing, but usually Jupiter inspires just enough laziness that we tend to sit back and enjoy, rather than working for something better. However, on September 3, the Sun will be in Virgo, which could give you the motivation you need to take the day's good fortune to a whole new level!

Jupiter is currently in Taurus where it usually wants to teach you a lesson about money. So keep an eye on where your money comes from and what you do with it. Seek out a happy medium without being too liberal with your spending or too tight-fisted. Again, Virgo will be there to help you find that balance.

This focus on Jupiter will also incline you to be more generous and idealistic. Go with it! For the most part, only good can come of trying to help those in need or following your ideals. Your instincts will be sharply honed on this day, and once you figure out what you want, you'll be able to stride forward with confidence!

~drool~ Oh my, I'm having a hard time moving beyond that pi-pi-picture! ;)

Oh man, I wish that rain drenching LA and MS would move over and hit TX. I've got friends desperate for some precipitation down there!

Serena, that pic is exceptionally drool-worthy... oh, for some of that eye candy right here on the tame prairie.

Oh, I know I have some friends in Texas who desperately need rain. Also, on his show out of Austin, Alex Jones was saying the same thing. He wished the hurricane would come and sit over them, and drench Texas.

If we all give a mental shove, maybe some of that system will move on over to Texas.
