Eagle Feather Surprise

Hellbeast in disguise?

Saturday into Sunday roars, my freedom-loving Felines... oooh, definitely Fourth of July hot on the tame prairie... and thank you to all the shade trees around this Big Cat’s house... yep-meow, are the rebel tomato plants soaking up the water, but they are blooming.

Eagle Feather Surprise ... omygosh, what an incredible and utterly unexpected surprise! When the Kougaress trekked down to her mailbox, she stopped by the plastic container she uses for receiving packages... and right in front was this long, large eagle feather. In that moment, it felt like this tremendous gift from Spirit, and from Eagle Spirit. Yep, the tears flowed... and then, the Kougaress worried about the eagle who lost it, if Eagle is okay. So, she cried about that, too. There were no other signs of a problem. Still, this Big Cat so hopes the eagle is doing well, and all blessings to him or her. Thank You, Eagle Spirit. And, yes, the Eagle Soul is Rising.

MORE SEVER WEATHER ~

GRANTSBURG, Wis. (AP) — A fierce thunderstorm swept through a rural Wisconsin county that was packed with holiday campers, toppling trees that killed an 11-year-old girl, blowing boats ashore and injuring more than three dozen people, officials said Saturday.

The storm moved across Minnesota and Wisconsin on Friday, packing winds approaching 80 mph and hail as large as softballs.

In northwestern Wisconsin's Burnett County, at least 39 people went to hospitals after the storm toppled hundreds of trees and left several thousand utility customers without power. Authorities said most of the injured were treated and released, but three were in critical condition Saturday evening.

Heavy winds upended boats in the area and blew them ashore, while an airport hangar in neighboring Douglas County collapsed onto a single-engine plane. Searches were conducted. ~news.yahoo.com~

Phoenix sets record heat for day at 118 degrees

PHOENIX (AP) — About 4,000 homes in the metropolitan Phoenix area are without power — and air-conditioning — on a record-shattering day of heat in one of the nation's hottest cities.

Phoenix hit a high temperature of 118 degrees on Saturday, topping a 10-year-old record of 116 degrees for the date.

The National Weather Service say clouds from monsoon activity likely kept the area from reaching 120 degrees, but they say it's still the city's hottest day so far this year.

The monsoon brought wind gusts that toppled power lines and knocked out electricity to homes in Phoenix suburbs.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio ordered thousands of bags of ice to the county's outdoor jails, saying inmates could have as much as they want and for any use — including to sit on.

Authoress news and mews ~

Ya learn something new every time... at least, this Big Cat author learns something new every time she does edits. Instead of simply typing out an ellipsis, hey now, an ellipsis is inserted by extra clicking. So, now when the Kougar is writing is she supposed to automatically insert an ellipse instead of merely typing it... what an effing waste of time and energy... and what a way to lose the flow of a scene, not to mention the entire story. All this computer word processing stuff is supposed to make thing easier. In some cases, however, it’s more damn difficult. Why?

A Special Note Here ~ THANKS TO ALL THE EDITORS for helping the Kougar improve her pubbed stories, and teaching her good things to know. She really does appreciate it humongously, and overall, the Kougar’s editors have done a great job. And, yes, sometimes this Big Cat writer is downright growly and cranky, especially over the whole COMMA CRAP dilemma. Or, the belief that readers will get bent out of shape if ‘redfire’ is used as description. But, yes, it happened this time as well. The first editor took commas out, some of which are now back. ~throwing hands up, then eyebrows up~

Happy Freedom Day Shifter Style
by Solara

Josh looked at the flags draped from every nook and available crevice in the bar. Lord, there were enough flags and clan poles decorating the room to allow them to open their own united shifters nations meeting. “I guess the cold and open spaces brought folks together in ways we hadn’t thought about.”

The gift of an eagle feather is awesome! I'll bet there was a darn good reason it came to you this fine day, Savanna. :)

Isn't it amazing what edit can teach us...I'm always astounded by some of the changes that come back on mine. ~wink~

And yes, many heart-felt thanks go out to those editors!!

Bree, it's just been hit and miss as far as me figuring anything out... I should take online classes... but, geez, there goes that time when I could be actually writing.

Yeah, that's another thing. Why have to stop and insert a dang dash just to have it come out right? There's probably a program that changes that so you can just type, but I have no clue what it is. Yet.

Happy editing to all of us authors!
