Dreams Demolished...

Okay, he is not cooling this Big Cat down...

Late night purrs, my stay-cool Pussycats... yep, yowsa, hot on the tame prairie today... but, not quite as steamy nasty... ohgosh, the Kougaress might yet get some yummy tomatoes... her renegades plants are blooming and forming little green tomatoes.

More huge storms on the way, according to this Big Cat’s intuition. Take, my darlings.

BTW... did you know that Washington DC was built on top of ancient dwellings? The Kougaress thought it was just a drained swampy area.

An impromptu scene...

Dreams Demolished...

“Dreams demolished,” she whispered. “All of my dreams demolished.”

She stood unmoving, barely aware of her surroundings. The rust-colored, parched land stretched for miles around her, flat as a table top. Dwarf trees and sparse, succulent-leaf vegetation dotted the landscape, sucking up water from an immense aquifer.

She thought to move -- a foot, her arm, even a finger. But, she didn’t. She couldn’t. Likely shock kept her paralyzed.

Only her breath moved in and out of her lungs. Her thoughts dashed madly, though, zigzagging like a chased hare.

She remembered each demolished dream, vividly reliving the horror of when hope had crashed and died an ugly death. So many dreams... so many...

She swayed, and before her mind’s eye, she saw herself crumple to the ground. Somehow, she remained upright, standing, even though nearly every drop of her energy had deserted her.

Once, so very long ago, she’d been filled to the brim with bright and great dreams for the future. Once, she’d burned with aliveness. Once, she’d believed. Simply believed in herself.

She’d made plans, and followed her divine path. Confident she could achieve the desires of her heart, and live the truth of her soul, she’d braved every struggle. And, despite how impossible things had appeared, she’d persevered.

Now, she stood abandoned. The descent of the sun seemed to reflect the loss of her own light, as if her life force bled out.

Yes, after the death of each dream, she’d grieved terribly yet moved onto the next dream... now...

In truth, she was a mere shell of herself. Empty. There had been so many dreams inside her, she’d thought they would never end. But, they had.

After all, the world had collapsed. The future she’d been promised as a child had evaporated just like raindrops before they could splash on the desert floor.

Suddenly, her legs moved. Slowly, she walked deeper into the parched land... either she would die, most likely... or, she’d find others like herself. Those who had already escaped the dark oppression that was taking over.

"What Do You See In That Stone?"
by Serena Shay

“It was only a dollar fifty for fu…”

“Silas! Don’t you dare finish that sentence.” Ally’s patience was wearing thin with her son’s anger and foul mouth. Her fear of the ever increasing mountain of shit she knew was nearing the point of collapse and her constant refusal to agree to any bit of fun for her kids was sending her natural mother guilt in to overdrive. Silas was right, not that she could tell him that, but it was a dollar fifty cone for fucks sake—a simple cone she could not provide.

“Fine, but it was just a stupid, plain cone. I want one. I’m hungry!”

Support Matters!

Ladies, make sure you’ve got a proper fitting bra, and gentlemen, make sure you’ve got the right fitting belt. What the heck am I on about? I’m talking about support.

We all need it. Even if it’s just a little bit. None of us do well for long when we’re out there flailing around or riding low. Hence those bras and belts! It doesn’t matter what size you are, this is a one-size fits all kind of deal.

Central Indonesian volcano erupts; residents flee

TOMOHON, Indonesia (AP) — A volcano in central Indonesia spit lava and smoke high into the air early Friday, sending thousands of panicked residents racing down its fiery slopes...

Mount Lokon, located in northern Sulawesi province, unleashed its first powerful eruption at 10:46 p.m. Thursday, said Brian Rulrone, a disaster management agency official. That blast was followed by a second just after midnight and a third at 1:10 a.m. Friday.

Glowing lava cascaded from the mouth of the crater, triggering forest fires along its western slope, said Ferry Rusmawan, an official at the nearest monitoring post, adding that activity remained high and another eruption appeared imminent.

The 5,741-foot (1,750-meter) mountain continued to rumble late Friday morning.

Are you thinking of continuing on with her story?

Serena, he is... I get the middle tingles as I call them whenever I see his pic.

I've thought about continuing... but it seems like it would be too much of a 'downer', but maybe not...? What happens next did begin to unfold... the hero is on the horizon.
