Christmas Songs in July

Very late night meows, my keep-cool Kittens... yes, the heat and humidity are baking the tame prairie... however, the midday clouds kept some of the summer baking away... another strangeling day for this Big Cat... nothing is normal anymore in dealing with the stuff of life, and extreme highs and lows come at a more rapid rate these days.

Do take care, my darlings, this level of heat is nothing to mess around with, especially if you’re not used to it.

Christmas Songs in July ... out of yesterdays wonderful ‘Christmas in July’ blog by Celia Yeary at HAPPILY EVER AFTER, this Big Cat got to thinking... yes, a dangerous activity in today’s clime, it seems. As Celia put it: ‘we had a little party’ with our childhood memories. A coming together in heart, mind and spirit... so, then the Kougaress had her lightbulb moment. What the world needs now is Christmas songs. What if we were singing Christmas songs together? Or, not to be particularly religious, what if we were singing any type of songs we had in common?

That is, what if we, as humanity, were joined in song? Would we be fighting? Would we let wars happen? No matter the provocation by the big corp profit mongers. Consider the following historical example that instantly sprang to mind. Of course, after this occurred the big mucky-mucks of war made this behavior criminal.

Why?

On and around Christmas Day 1914, the sounds of rifles firing and shells exploding fade in a number of places along the Western Front in favor of holiday celebrations in the trenches and gestures of goodwill between enemies.

Starting on Christmas Eve, many German and British troops sang Christmas carols to each other across the lines, and at certain points the Allied soldiers even heard brass bands joining the Germans in their joyous singing.

At the first light of dawn on Christmas Day, some German soldiers emerged from their trenches and approached the Allied lines across no-man's-land, calling out "Merry Christmas" in their enemies' native tongues. At first, the Allied soldiers feared it was a trick, but seeing the Germans unarmed they climbed out of their trenches and shook hands with the enemy soldiers. The men exchanged presents of cigarettes and plum puddings and sang carols and songs.

A BIG THANK YOU from this Big Cat to all those who put info on the web!!! The Kougaress didn’t know where to put the transmission oil, and sure enough the answer was in an article about transmission fluid for her particular make and model. There’s been several other instances where she found the automotive info she needed. Hug, kisses, thank you’s!

Hot Tub Fun
by Solara

Kazim watched as the scantily clad woman slid into the poolside hot tub. Her mousy brown hair stood out in spikes all over her head. While her fuller figure might make some men scoff or look away, she drew his gaze every time, he'd seen her since he and Stanislus had moved into the small apartment Dante had rented them.

Bree, the internet is absolutely amazing for tracking down info quickly. I just hope we can hold onto it as a true resource.

I love researching my random thoughts and essential needs on the internet. It's fascinating what can be found. I could spend hours on randomness and be a happy camper! ~wink~
