A Superman Sign of the Times...
Late night flight to the stars, my Springtime beauties... much warmer on the tame prairie, and windy blustery for most of the day... the Kougaress did a bit of puttering around outside... she so loves the outdoors, but doesn’t get to enjoy it like she wants to...
~~~
A Superman Sign of the Times... have you heard all the major hoopla over Superman renouncing his US citizenship? Yeah, comics, cartoons, graphic novels, what have you, are often used as the purrfect vehicle for political commentary because hey, metaphorically, or literally, you could get your head chopped off... and during these times of investigative journalists leaving our beloved country under the threat of death... well, along comes Superman... not that his current creators are investigative journalists... and, not that they are that wise politically... honestly, the Kougaress doesn’t know because, while she adored Superman as a kid on the TV, and, of course, what’s not to adore about Steve Reeves as Superman... well, she isn’t an afficionado of the current incarnation of Superman... however, and it’s a BIG MEOW however... what the far flung asteroid is going on?
Of course, that will shake out as Superman’s story continues to plays out. This Big Cat truly hopes Superman will not become an enforcer-shill for the UN instead of the US. While becoming a true world citizen for the people would be a wonderful leap over tall buildings by the sensational good-at-heart super hero, and bring hope to many, if Mr. Superman is duped by the mass-killing corrupt rulers of the UN... well, it will not only be terribly sad, but there must arise super heroines and super heroes who fight against the original laser-eyed good guy.
Omygosh, my darling KitKats, the Kougaress does not usually spend much time reading article comments simply because she doesn’t have the time to spend, or the emotional coin... however, if you want certain hilarity, measured doses of wisdom, and insights into the view the British people have about Americans... yeppers-meow, check out the comments here~ guardian.co.uk/books/2011/apr/29/superman-threatens-renounce-us-citizenship ~
Superman 'may end US citizenship', says Action Comics
Superman intends to give up his US citizenship, a story in the new issue of Action Comics declares.
"I'm tired of having my actions construed as instruments of US policy," the character says in a story that sees him flying to a Tehran protest.
Adopted by an American family, Superman decides he is better-off serving the world.
Though he only talks about his plans to give up citizenship, the story has been criticised by commentators worldwide.
The superhero, originally from the fictional planet Krypton, does not clearly renounce his citizenship in the issue.
Action Comics co-publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio said: "Superman announces his intention to put a global focus on his never ending battle, but he remains, as always, committed to his adopted home and his roots as a Kansas farm boy from Smallville."
The disputed story sees the hero standing silently at the protest, wanting to show demonstrators that they are not alone.
Superman's announcement comes after accusations from Iran's government that he has caused an international incident, in the nine-page story written by David Goyer.
"'Truth, justice and the American way' - it's not enough anymore," Superman says, "The world is too small, too connected."
This is not the first time a comic character has distanced himself from US policy.
In the 1970s, Marvel Comics' Captain America swapped his identity for that of the character Nomad at the time of the Watergate scandal.
Bunny Rabbit Tails to Butterfly Wings...
Meghan suffered a full body shake as she followed the trail of rust colored, fingernail-sized footprints across her beautiful white oak desk. Fear and revulsion hit her like a one-two punch to the gut when her gaze landed on the fluffy white, yet slightly red-stained poof, sitting in the middle.
She swallowed back the bile that was making its bid for freedom and took several cleansing breathes.
Note: the Kougar hasn’t had the opportunity to check this out. However, she thought it was worth knowing about for us authors/aspiring authors.
This is outrageous. This teacher is under fire for writing erotic romance novels in her spare time. Certain parents are calling for her to quit or quit writing.
Paw-quiet commentary ~ lest she be hung by the neck until dead either by word or deed ~ despite the so-called royal wedding, a ‘revolting spectacle’ in the words of amazing scholar, Webster Griffon Tarpley... yeah, the whole thing, which this Big Cat avoided at every turn, made her want to hurl her cookies just thinking about it, or catching a glimpse of the endless tabloid-hype-propaganda... during this time of the Aquarian Age, it is the end of the monarchy. Now, this Big Cat has nothing against royalty, as is demonstrated by her aristocratic erotic romance, ALL SHADES OF BLUE PARADISE... however, when royalty or anyone is of poor character, ala the words of Martin Luther King, and demonstrates the let-them-eat-cake attitude over and over again... and is partly responsible for the Gulf Oil disaster, as well as other monstrous atrocities during the past decades... well, she has not one use for them, or their command-performance star-studded spectacles. As was mentioned in the Superman comments, the British people were not allowed to comment negatively on the royal wedding, or face nasty consequences. Also, those who dared to peacefully protest the wedding were rounded up, and arrested. Who needs royals like that, unless you’re sadomasochistic, of course.
