Piles of dry crackly leaves carpet the ground...

Late night mee-yows, my sweet and spicy Autumn Kittens... oh-so cold last night! And chilly today on the tame prairie... the Kougaress got some yard work done trying to prepare for winter... she’s been looking at alternative ways to heat the house in case there’s a power outage, like a propane heater... but, gosh, then you have to worry about enough ventilation... and while she would like to have a wood stove, it’s not like this Big Cat is going to turn into Paul Bunyan anytime soon... and even if she tries to go solar, with all the overcast days, is that really going to work?

Nothing about the upcoming winter feels easy... sighs...

Piles of dry crackly leaves carpet the ground becoming black gold, soon to nourish Spring’s new growth.

Bedazzler UFO update: So, the Kougaress is still attempting to figure out what the Bedazzler is... it doesn’t act like a star except when it dims to a white bright point in the sky... it doesn’t move across the sky like a star, even though there are changes in position, although not always similar to the previous night... also, the Bedazzler has been hanging around when the stars are out, and when they’re not.

Could it be what is being called an Echelon Platform? This is a huge black-ops type of platform vehicle thing, discovered by UFO enthusiasts, that uses solar power and hangs above Las Vegas and other cities. According to what they discovered, every type of electronic communication -- computer, cellphones, ipad, etc. is monitored from this platform, and the data stored. License plates are read, so, yeah, big-brother sky net is on the job evidently. The Echelon platform is sort of like an ultimate spy-info collection device.

Speaking of sky net, the scuttlebutt is from insiders that there is an AI, low orbit satellite that is capable of turning against humans and taking over. So far, several of the engineers working on it have been killed by this satellite... according to the rumors.

Authoress news and mews ~

Promo, always promo, my darlings.

However, the Kougar finally got to continue reading/revising her short shapeshifter erotic romance, SANTA BABY, SEVERAL STARS AWAY. The way things are going now, this Big Cat ‘might’ try formatting herself, although, she is NOT looking forward to that.

What follows is a small list of words that made their presence known... likely to used in an upcoming WIP.

turbulent
caustic
encumbrance

Central Casting
by Pat Cunningham

It took me long enough, but after close to a year of writing (and avoiding writing, but that’s another blog) I finally finished Legacy, my sequel to Belonging, and sent it off to Siren, who were kind enough to accept it. I’ve never denied my male leads were inspired by Sam, Dean and Castiel from Supernatural – or, in my version, Jeremy, Wallace the vampire, and the mysterious slayer known as the Preacher. (I chose that particular photo because the Preacher favors black. Tan trenchcoats tend to stand out in the dark.)

Prescriptions Kill More People Than Cars
Thursday, November 17, 2011

Did you know that drug deaths now outnumber traffic fatalities in the US? In 2009, they killed almost 40,000 people nationwide.

While most major causes of preventable death are declining, drugs are an exception. Prescription pain and anxiety drugs are potent and highly addictive and are especially dangerous when combined with one another or with other drugs or alcohol. Prescription drugs now cause more deaths than heroin and cocaine combined.

The death toll from drugs has doubled in the last decade, killing one person every 14 minutes. In contrast to this, traffic accidents have been dropping for decades because of huge investments in auto safety, such as airbags and anti-lock brakes.

In the September 18th edition of the Los Angeles Times, Lisa Girion, Scott Glover and Doug Smith quote public health expert Linda Rosenstock as saying that the liberalized prescription of pain drugs "may in fact be the cause of the epidemic we're now facing."

They quote police official Laz Salinas as saying, "The problem is right here under our noses in our medicine cabinets."

The authors quote researcher Amy S.B. Bohnert as saying, "It's a wonderful medical advancement that we can treat pain, but we haven't figured out the safety belt yet."

Oooh, those are some great words, Savanna! I really like caustic...it just sounds guttural coming out of ones mouth. :)

Oh, I know. I think we definitely need more 'caustic' repartee in these times.
