Midyear Already... and First Mockup

Pic from Coast to Coast am ~ Sakkara Object Replica

I was recently touring the National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. when I noticed something rather intriguing. In a room containing aircraft and artifacts from the beginnings of flight, I looked at an exact replica of the Sakkara Object that was found in a tomb in Egypt dating back to around 200B.C.

After looking at the object and reading its information, I walked out of the room, looked up, and immediately noticed "Space Ship One" hanging from the ceiling in the main entrance. That is when it struck me. I grabbed my camera and made photos of Space Ship One, then I went back and took photos of the replica of the Sakkara Object. The "tails" of both craft are identical !!! What are the odds of the first privately funded, non-governmental craft ever to fly into space sharing such an important design characteristic with one of the first ancient artifacts of a flying craft ever discovered that helped launch the research into the "Ancient Aliens" theory ??!!! I would love to know why the designers and engineers that built Space Ship One chose that particular tail design, and the performance advantages that particular design gave their craft in high altitude / sub-orbital flight.

June purrs, my summer-seeking Pussycats... yes, before-the-storm warm and air-still on the tame prairie... however, it was a brief thundery visit with some rain... gosh, the weather is weird, even weirder than the usual weird... and, it feels so odd outside, this Big Cat hesitates to go outside at times... fortunately, the wild critters seem to be okay... and there was this large, gorgeous yellow-buttery butterfly with black-tipped wings flitting about before the brief thundershower.

Midyear Already... Redundant, boring, that is yowling about the hyperspeed of time... but, can you believe it? The year, 2011, is halfway over. ALREADY!!! Where does the time go? Into a convenient black hole that NASA isn’t telling the public about? In fact, it feels like 2000 just began, and now it’s already past the decade point. And, barreling toward 2012. All this Big Cat can say is GET READY for massive and blink-you’ll-miss-them changes. Earth-shaking land changes. Weather catastrophic changes. Societal changes that will be off the charts. Think Caligula ~ ever see the 1979 film? Riots, wars, rebellions. The flames of change are being stoked, and will become a wildfire racing across the globe. At the same time, the force of love will be amplified as never before. Hang on tight to each other, my darling Kittens.

Omygawd! The Kougar received a first mockup of the cover art for KANDY APPLE AND HER HELLHOUNDS from Amanda Kelsey... It is gorgeous, spectacular... ! The only thing is, a major decision is required about the heroine’s image. It is Kandy, however, she never put her hair up in the story, and her red gown is utterly amazing, and what she would wear, but actually doesn’t in the story... yet, where is there a better image?

“I know druidry requires a familiarity with nature, Uncle, but I really don’t know. Taking Shainnon and Ayden for a human style camping trip seems less about nature and more about insanity,” grumped Kincaid. “Surely there are other ways to teach that pair of hellions how to fit in to the human culture than a camping trip. The last time Shainnon went amongst them, it took two black lords to get him out of trouble.”

Sue Moorcroft: Being someone I’m not

When I decided to write Love & Freedom, a book about an American woman coming to England to find her English mother, I potted an obvious pitfall.

I’m not American.

I was born in Germany and carted around in the wake of the British army.

But ‘being’ an American can’t be all that hard, right? I see them and their country on my television every day, my brother lives in America, Americans speak English.

Oh, the mockup is amazing! I just need to decide on the image she used for the heroine. It's so perfect, except for two things. ~sighs~
