A Salute to Flipper's Kind

Late night greetings, my darling-est and daring-est Big Beautiful Cats... upper-fifties warm on the tame prairie today... but, wowser, does the sky become more and more different, more bizarre in appearance, not like it was just five years ago... this morning there was this odd, thin striation of clouds in the southern sky... hey, don’t laugh too hard at this Big Cat... because she’s not the only saying this, or observing it... in fact, there’s a woman, Susan Rennison, who has written a book about space weather, and the changes in the sky, based on scientific findings and metaphysics. Check out Revelations Radio at Unknown Country.com.

A Salute to Flipper’s Kind ~ ROARS OF THANKS!!! to all the dolphins and porpoises who have helped us humans, and who are helping us in ways most of us don’t understand. And, thank you, beautiful sea beings, for helping other animals, as well. This Big Cat loves you.

Doggy-paddling Doberman saved by 'Flipper'

When Audrey D'Alessandro of Paradise Township was on vacation last week in Florida, she and a team of rescuers came together to save a dog trapped in a canal near her vacation home. And who else made up that team of rescuers? Her husband, firefighters — and two dolphins.

It all started when D'Alessandro and her husband, Sam, walked out of their home on Marco Island, near Naples, to go fishing. Behind the home is a canal where "we saw these two dolphins and they were splashing and making this big commotion," said Audrey D'Alessandro, a 16-year Pocono resident.

Dolphins usually swim through the canal behind the home, as it leads into the Gulf of Mexico, but this time the dolphins weren't just passing through.

"They were just there, in one place, splashing water against the canal wall," she said.

When the couple went to investigate, they saw that an 80-pound Doberman pinscher had fallen into the canal. The dog was standing on a sandbar and was half submerged in the water. (It was low tide at the time.) The dog, which had gone missing from someone's home 12 hours prior, was too weak to bark, she said, and the dog couldn't get back onto land because it couldn't climb up the canal wall, which was several feet high.

By the time D'Alessandro, who works as a delivery and labor nurse at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, lowered herself into the canal to get onto the sandbar where the dog was standing, the dolphins had already gone.

Sam D'Alessandro, of the engineering firm RKR Hess Associates in East Stroudsburg, called firefighters who, along with his wife, helped hoist the dog out of the water. The dog, Turbo, was shaking and wasn't even able to the stand when he got out of the water. The dog belonged to someone who lived eight blocks away.

"The owner was putting up 'lost' posters when the cops told her that the dog was found," Audrey D'Alessandro said.

A few days later Turbo and his owner came over to the D'Alessandros. All are now friends.

The D'Alessandros, who have a yellow labrador of their own, said that other news agencies in Florida were contacted and for the rest of the time the D'Alessandros were on Marco Island, they were almost like local celebrities.

"People pulled up to us when were driving and said, 'You're the couple that saved that dog,'" she said. "I said, 'Yeah, sure.' But I think it was really those dolphins."

Iceland: Now it's Earthquakes!
Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Iceland doesn't just have volcanoes under its massive ice sheets, it has earthquake swarms as well. Since earthquakes often set off volcanoes, this makes sense. There have been over 400 earthquakes in the vicinity of the Krísuvík volcano recently, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

The Kougar was checking out the blogger stats for SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTIONS, cause she’s a curious cat gal, plus she likes to know what appeals most... anyhoo-mew, one of the search terms was *blade runner with bunnies*... really curious now, this Big Cat tried out the search term. Sure enough her blog, Blade Runner ~ Rabbit Shapeshifter, came up, but so did a t-shirt company called ‘blade runner’ that has bunnie shirts... so, shirts or blog... the Kougar had to wonder which one the individual wanted.

Happy Courtship on another Earth

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...

Part 794 ~

Sylva savored each bite she tried, except she wasn’t sure about one small pile of greens with tiny yellow pieces. With Zeke stroking her thigh every now and then, and the friendly banter taking place, she felt her uneasiness dissolve. Except, here she was staring at the only thing she hadn’t tasted. “Dandelion relish,” Marina piped up. “If you’re wondering what that is, Sylva.” Her head jerked upward. “I know dandelion is good for you, medicinal wise. I haven’t ever tasted it.” With a quick sweep of his spoon, Zeke picked up a tiny portion. “You might just like it, darlin’.”

Zeke grinned at the expression on his wife’s face. Caught between the desire to taste, and her revulsion, she stared at the spoon’s contents. “You weren’t raised on dandelion?” his mother asked gently. “No. I’ve heard of dandelion wine. Dandelion tea. I’ve even taken the herbal capsules.” Leaning toward the spoon, his Sylva bravely took the bite. “Not too bad,” she pronounced. “Capsules?” Marina asked. “Little gel capsules that contain the powdered herb. You just swallow them. I guess, it would be better to actually eat the herb. Like the olden days...on my Earth.” Zeke swooped down, kissing her.

SNARL AND SNARK ~

Yeah, snarls, in an effort to look like the good guys while eliminating the competition, the FDA gets rid of supposed medications that don’t work, but have never had a serious complaint made against them... while this Big Cat does ‘not’ use any of these medications, and never has, it appears as though, even if they aren’t majorly effective, they cause little harm when taken... so, the Nazi-nasty, horrific FDA is creating an atmosphere that says WE CAN TAKE ANYTHING OFF THE MARKET WE WANT, even when there are no serious complaints. How’s that for a mafia dictatorship. Like it?

Oooh, upper 50's that's like a heat wave here! I can't wait to see that again.

OMGosh, I love the story of the dolphins and the pup...they are awesome creatures, for sure!

Upper 50s is a heat wave here, too, but I'm not as much where you hail from.

It's a wonderful story. You have to wonder what the doberman and the dolphins said to each other.
