Let Slip the Dogs of War... arf, arf...

Spring is sprung greetings, my romping and ravishing KitKats... oh, the Super Moon was fabulously impressive, of lunar course... fortunately, the clouds didn’t interfere for the most part... and, a few strange moments occurred that this Big Cat can’t quite explain when she was gazing up at the moon... sort of a trance... not that anything weird occurred... at least, she didn’t wake up naked in the woods with remnants of fur on her arms.

Warm, warm on the tame prairie today... omygosh, the bullfrogs are rivet-rivet, oooowarrack, singing big time... the Kougaress heard the coyotes in the late afternoon, and the neighbor’s cows were bawling at the same time... the birdies are winging about, probably nest building... and, it appears as though the squirrels have calmed down a bit... yep, lots of critter doings happening.

Oh, and this Big Cat did receive her large bottle of Lugol’s Iodine solution, which means she can paint a protective dose on herself, and her loved ones, against any incoming radiation poisoning. And, hey, most of us don’t get enough good iodine in our foods, anyway.

Let Slip the Dogs of War... arf, arf...

From the Phrase Finder ~ phrases.org.uk/meanings/105600.html ~

Shakespeare was well aware of the use of the meaning of havoc and he used 'cry havoc' in several of his plays. The 'cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war' form of the phrase is from his Julius Caesar, 1601. After Caesar's murder Anthony regrets the course he has taken and predicts that war is sure to follow.

ANTONY:
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

Authoress news and mews ~

Okay, progress is being made on the final chapter of Kandy Apple and Her Hellhounds... however, due to unforseen circumstances, not quite as much as this Big Cat authoress would have liked. However, she is pleased with what she’s penned so far.

Romance begins with good chemistry
by Cara Bristol

We’ve all experienced meeting someone and feeling a zing of physical awareness. Physical attraction or chemistry is an invisible, but real force that strikes without warning or reason. It makes us aware not only the other person, but of ourselves and our own bodies. The attraction beckons us to move closer, to touch. We smile more, we giggle stupidly.
