Happy New Moon meows, my adventurous and holiday-awesome KitKats... so hope the holidays are treating you right and the love you give is the love you receive... cold, but clear on the tame prairie... there was the most beautiful blanket of lacy clouds this afternoon... and all the birdikins were dining happily on bounty of seeds from moi’s summer-jungle of a yard... gosh, they are adorable flitting about... and a pair of cardinals made an appearance... this Big Cat so loves the nature she observes everyday.

Synchronicity Alert: Talbot’s Peak, Montana is the name of the town where the Guts and Butts Gazette is located, the serial flash story running at SHAPESHIFTER SEDUCTIONS. So, it was a bit odd to hear the name, David Talbot.

Fascinating program on Coast to Coast am ~ nighttime radio ~ featuring David Talbot, the author of DEVIL DOG, about General Smedley Butler, who said: War is a racket and wrote the 1935 book, WAR IS A RACKET.

Ian Punnett was joined by Salon.com founder David Talbot for a discussion on a new series of illustrated Pulp History books that he helped co-create. Talbot said the books present a "raw history" of events that most Americans have never heard about. Talbot's entry in the series, Devil Dog, reveals the amazing true story of General Smedley Darlington Butler, the most decorated Marine in U.S. history.

Butler joined the armed forces at sixteen and fought in numerous conflicts. A turning point in his life occurred during World War I, when he witnessed the "industrial level carnage" of that war and the government's abandonment of returning veterans, Talbot explained. Butler became radicalized after that and devoted the rest of his life to peace and veteran's rights, he added. According to Talbot, Butler was asked to lead an army of 500,000 armed veterans to Washington, DC to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Instead, he turned whistleblower and appeared before Congress to expose the plot, Talbot said.

And DO NOT give any publisher the right to print your books unless they are actually in the business of offering print books to readers, and have provided in the contract an approximate date for print publication. This applies to either traditional publishing or POD [print on demand].

And... on the authorly front, there appears to be somewhat of a backlash, by authors, against having to write only *one* character’s POV per scene, chapter, or whatever... some of the top romance authors like Rosemary Rodgers and Nora Roberts have successfully written ‘head hopping’ books for decades.

Sultry Sunday- Dr. Grace excerpt

My newest WIP is called Dr. Grace (tentative- till I can come up with a better title) is about a call-in sex therapist who deals with people's sexual issues. On a personal note, her and her husband experiment with all the ideas she shares with her fans and callers. From positions to locations... lots of humor and sexual tension.

I absolutely love the first sentence-

“It's perfectly natural to want to touch yourself,” Dr. Grace's sultry voice filled the radio station's broadcast booth as well as millions of kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms across the country.

We've all had days in when we've awoken grumpy, only to find ourselves cheer up for no apparent reason later on; and of course, the opposite has surely also occurred. There are also those strange days when we have just a couple hours of strong emotion, only to feel it fade away just as quickly as it appeared. This is not a figment of your imagination; it's the Moon at work. The Moon moves quickly through the signs and past other planets wreaking havoc, but also provides plenty of chances for joy and opportunity.

Sylva stared down at her feet. “I forgot about being barefoot.” Ginger’s hearty laugh had her swinging her gaze toward her. “Plenty of foot warmers downstairs. No one round here can tolerate havin’ cold feet. Come on, honey.” In a motherly fashion, Ginger twined their arms together. “I hear from Zeke you’re partial to hot chocolate.” Sylva figured Zeke and his father must be okay, or his mother wouldn’t be this calm. Still, his family was used to coping with this kind of taking-action lifestyle.“I do love hot chocolate. What happened?” Sylva asked as they moved down the stairway.

Zeke felt his gut instincts alert on their enemy. “Right over that next ridge.” He pointed, then picked up the zoom lens. “Yup, got something on screen. Whoever the yellow bellies are, they’re hauling ass away from us, traveling on the road toward Vernon’s Peak.” Van streaked them after the varmints that were most likely waitin’ on the return of the robo-plane. “Was there spyin’ equipment detected?” Zeke asked. “Nope. Another dart missile was detected.” Van descended fast as the robo-plane slowed and banked toward them. Lowering the lens fast, Zeke grabbed the joystick, locked onto the robo-plane, and fired.
