HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) – State and city authorities are planning a full closure of the H-3 Freeway next week to help facilitate surge COVID-19 testing efforts on Oahu, the Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
The multi-agency effort will involve the closure of the freeway in both directions from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1 and Thursday, Sept 3, officials say.
Testing stations will be set up inside the Harano Tunnel, in both directions of traffic, to maximize the number of individuals who can be tested.
Once individuals have been tested, they’ll be required to continue on to either end of the H-3 before using alternate Koolau routes, if necessary, to continue in transit.
“This surge testing will help us flatten the curve once more,” said Gov. David Ige. “We’re all working together for the health and safety of our whole community. Use of the H-3 will provide space to allow as many people as possible to be tested.”

Prior to shooting three people who were attacking him, Kyle Rittenhouse was offering free EMT service to injured protesters regardless of their political ideology.
In the footage, Rittenhouse offers first aid to a diverse group of protesters walking by and aids one of them who was shot with a rubber bullet by police.
“I am an EMT, if you are injured come to me,” Rittenhouse tells protesters.

Rittenhouse was likely one of the few trained EMT techs inside the riot zone given that police were simply keeping a perimeter around the rioting.

The Black Lives Matter protester in Kenosha who was shot in the arm by Kyle Rittenhouse says that his only regret was “not killing the kid,” a statement that will do wonders to help Rittenhouse’s self-defense argument.
Gaige Grosskreutz, who was caught on camera pointing a gun at Rittenhouse before the teenager show him in the arm, made the comments after doctors were able to save the limb from being amputated.
According to his friend Jacob Marshall, who is pictured with Grosskreutz, the BLM supporter’s “only regret was not killing the kid and hesitating to pull the gun before emptying the entire mag into him.”
In the Facebook post, Marshall also admits that Grosskreutz “drew his weapon” before he was shot by Rittenhouse.
“Well this literally shows INTENT TO KILL, so Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense lawyer just got an early Christmas present,” tweeted Mike Cernovich.

Rittenhouse has excellent legal representation now that Lin Wood has agreed with Rittenhouse’s family to represent the 17-year-old.
Wood is famous for representing Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandman, forcing CNN to settle for $275 million dollars after the network defamed Sandman over his confrontation with Native American activist Nathan Phillips in January 2019.

Pennsylvania State Police reported Tuesday afternoon that there was an “exchange” of gunfire between property owners and Black Lives Matter “activists” during the shooting incident in Bedford County on Monday night and “a shotgun, shotgun shells, a semi-automatic pistol and 9mm casings were all recovered at the scene.”
The “protesters” yesterday acted as though they were all innocent victims.
“The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop G Bedford station was contacted by a property owner on Monday, August 24 at 11:18 p.m. regarding a group of people in a private business parking lot. Troopers later learned the group was comprised of approximately 30 activists who are traveling on foot and in vehicles from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Washington, D.C. At approximately 11:35 p.m. at the same location and before state police arrival, the property owners confronted the activists. The confrontation escalated, and gunshots were exchanged between the property owners and the activists,” police said, as quoted by WTAE.
“One of the activists was struck by birdshot from a shotgun. The man was treated and released from the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, 1086 Franklin Street Johnstown, Pennsylvania,” police said.
“A shotgun, shotgun shells, a semi-automatic pistol and 9mm casings were all recovered at the scene.”
Police are still investigating and say no one has been charged at this time but charges may come at a later date.
Meanwhile, the roaming mob of “protesters” were involved in another shooting on Tuesday evening in the parking lot of a hotel in Bedford.
As I documented yesterday, there is plenty of evidence to suggest these “protesters” may be armed illegally.

The couple who shot to fame after defending their home from a trespassing mob with their legally owned firearms warned Tuesday that if Democrats come to power they will enable criminality and the destruction of American suburban life.
In a keynote speech at the second night of the RNC, Patricia and Mark McCloskey spoke of the recent incident at their St. Louis home, warning that it will become commonplace if Joe Biden manages to become President.
“What you saw happen to us could just as easily happen to any of you who are watching from quiet neighborhoods around our country,” warned Mrs McCloskey.
“Whether it’s defunding the police, ending cash bail so criminals can be released back out on the streets the same day to riot again, or encouraging anarchy on our streets, it seems as if Democrats no longer view the government’s job as protecting honest citizens from criminals, but rather protecting criminals from honest citizens,” added Mr McCloskey.
The couple, who have previously donated to both Republicans and Democrats, explained how they remarkably were treated as the guilty party after the mob invaded their gated street.
“Not a single person in the out-of-control mob you saw at our house was charged with a crime. But you know who was? We were,” Mark emphasised, adding “They’ve actually charged us with a felony for daring to defend our home.”
“On top of that, consider this: The liberal activist leading a mob to our neighborhood stood outside of our home with a bullhorn screaming, “You can’t stop the revolution!” Just weeks later, that same activist won the Democrat nomination to hold a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives,” he further noted.
“The radicals are not content just marching in the streets. They want to walk the halls of Congress. They want power. This is Joe Biden’s party. These are the people who will be in charge,” McCloskey warned.
Patricia further explained how Biden’s policies related to American suburbs will secure their eventual destruction.
“They’re not satisfied with spreading the chaos and violence in our communities. They want to abolish the suburbs all-together by ending single-family home zoning,” she warned.
“This forced rezoning would bring crime, lawlessness and low-quality apartments into thriving suburban neighborhoods. President Trump smartly ended this government overreach, but Joe Biden wants to bring it back,” Mrs McCloskey further urged.

COVID lockdowns designed to inhibit children’s education
A mom in Georgia shared a heartbreaking photo of her 5-year-old son frustrated to tears as he struggles with the new virtual learning curriculum.
In the photo, the young boy is sitting at an office desk in the family’s kitchen with an open laptop and pen and paper, as he uses his shirt to dry his eyes.
His mother, Jana Coombs, says the photo was taken just after her son had set his head down on the desk and cried, largely due to the confusing transition from in-person to online learning.
“I just took that picture because I wanted people to see reality,” Coombs said, adding, “And then he came over and we hugged and I was crying right along with him.”
Coombs, who has two other children also enrolled in online classes in addition to a seven-month-old, said it’s been overwhelming setting up the new online schooling.
“Juggling a household, having an infant in the house, getting 5,000 emails a day from all their teachers, trying to keep up… different apps, different codes, different platforms, some links don’t work. You’re running from one laptop to another,” Coombs described.
Speaking to WXIA, 11Alive.com, a spokesperson for student resource organization Sylvan Learning said they’ve heard from several parents frustrated over virtual learning.
“I get calls from parents in tears all the time saying, I don’t know what to do because I’m not a teacher,” she said.
While the technology and teachings are an obstacle, Coombs gives credit to teachers doing their best under the circumstances.
“The teachers have done an amazing job. They’re really organized, they’re doing everything they can, but it’s pretty difficult to get a Kindergartner to follow along and keep them engaged,” said Coombs husband, Luke, who also says kids need face-to-face time with teachers and fellow students.
This is just a snapshot of how the arbitrary lockdowns and lack of personalized instruction are socially isolating children and robbing them of the benefits of in-person learning.

The US Marshals Service Missing Child Unit has rescued 26 children and confirmed the safety of an additional 13, while arresting nine people for child trafficking-related offenses in Atlanta and Macon, Georgia.
The children rescued were aged between three and 17 years old, and 15 were confirmed as victims of sex trafficking.
The massive sweep concluded the two-week-long Operation Not Forgotten, as officers cleared 26 arrest warrants in total, including charges for sex trafficking, parental kidnapping, registered sex offender violations, drugs and weapons possession, and custodial interference.

Incident nearly devolves into full-blown riot
Footage captured a group of Black Lives Matter protesters confronting an elderly man after failing to block him from pumping gas at a local station where police shot a black man last week.
Video from Monday shows BLM in Lafayette, Louisiana, forming a human-chain to prevent a driver from accessing the pumps at a Shell convenience store.
Despite more than seven people linking arms to deter the motorist, the man driving a giant Ford F250 proceeds to lurch forward, upsetting the protesters as he reaches the filling station and exits to pump gas.
“Racist! Racist!” many protesters shout, as they bang on the truck of an elderly white man, who looks confused as he looks through his wallet to refill his gas tank.
One reporter comments protesters were upset because the man didn’t respect their plan to “stand their ground.”
“This is the type of foolishness that we’re talking about!” one protester yelled at a KATCreporter on the scene.
“This man took his vehicle and tried to pass it through a peaceful protest and tried to kill us! That’s exactly what happened! This is why when we try to tell you we’re trying to keep this damn city calm and this is what is happening!”
“A racist,” another protester adds. “They’ll run their cars into you, act like they didn’t do anything wrong.”
The man was reportedly able to pump gas and drive off after police arrived.
“Police then asked the protesters to move off the property, so they relocated to a nearby shopping center where they continued their protest,” reports KATC.
The gas station protests stemmed from the police shooting death of Trayford Pellerin at the same location last Friday, which was captured on cell phone video by a bystander.

Historic exodus as companies leave riot-ravaged Portland

Businesses are rapidly exiting Portland or moving outside the city center after months of violence and rioting, according to a major property owner.
Greg Goodman and his family have been one of Portland’s largest landowners for decades.
In stern letter to the Portland City Council and Mayor Ted Wheeler, Goodman warned a historic exodus of businesses is taking place after nearly 90 consecutive days of rampant lawlessness.
Along with hordes of smaller companies, large firms are reportedly beating a hasty retreat from the city center, such as Daimler Chrysler, Banana Republic, Microsoft, AirB&B, and Saucebox.
tandard Insurance, downtown Portland’s largest insurance business, recently relocated its employees to a suburban campus in Hillsboro.
“Google, who leased 90k SF in the Macy’s building has stopped construction of their improvements,” Goodman wrote in an email obtained by local media. “The list goes on and on. If you know a retail or office broker, give them a call and ask them how many clients they have are trying to leave. The number is like nothing I have seen in 42 years of doing business in downtown.”
Goodman claims the mass departure has “nothing to do with Black Lives Matter movement (which has been a positive) but does have most everything to do with the lawlessness you are endorsing downtown.”
“I would encourage each of you to walk around downtown Portland in the morning. Goodman urged councilmembers to meet with affected business owners and hear their concerns.
“Ask what you can do for them,” he said. “Let them know you care. As importantly, get going on cleaning things up. Get the streets swept, double down on sidewalk washing and cleaning, replace the burnt out newspaper boxes, paint the light standards, get the parks in order, etc.”

Downtown Portland is now too unstable for the ‘Banana Republic,’ a clothing chain named after politically unstable countries.
Yes, really.
The clothing retailer is leaving downtown Portland due to the ‘lawlessness’ of ongoing protests in the city, according to Fox Business.
“The months of protests and riots in Portland have prompted some businesses in the city to opt to move out completely or relocate outside its central district, according to a report on Monday,” the outlet reported. “Greg Goodman, the co-president of the Downtown Development Group, said in a letter to Mayor Ted Wheeler and members of the Portland City Council that the exodus of companies wasn’t related to the Black Lives Matter movement ‘but does have most everything to do with the lawlessness you are endorsing downtown.’”
Other businesses include Airbnb, Microsoft, Saucebox and Daimler Trucks North America.
In other words, it’s impossible for these companies to conduct business given the instability of downtown Portland, as would be expected.
Goodman also said it was the largest exodus of businesses he has seen in over 40 years, and, across the country, New York City is also experiencing a major exodus as residents flee the Big Apple for more relaxing destinations.
The term ‘banana republic’ was often used for countries suffering from uneven economic development, which is what Portland is facing after months of mass rioting and extended Covid-19 businesses have shut many businesses down, some for good.

Gangs Set Up Road Blocks in Swedish City

Gangs have set up road blocks in a suburb of Gothenburg, Sweden, amid a surge in violence between warring criminal networks, according to reports.
Vehicles passing through makeshift checkpoints in the Hammarkullen neighborhood of Angered have been inspected by gang members, sources told Sveriges Radio.
“It is completely unacceptable, it is the police who are responsible for order in society and not criminal networks,” said police chief Erik Nord.
"Yesterday we did not really get there before they withdrew. We take this very seriously as it creates a great deal of insecurity.”
The checkpoints were reportedly established following multiple shootings in the area, which authorities believe may be linked.
“We have drawn connections between the events and we believe that it may be part of a serious conflict between criminal networks. That is why we have gathered forces to combat acts of violence,” said Nord, explaining the crisis has been classified as a 'red mode' emergency.
“Now it has turned and there is a conflict between a couple of criminal networks that is escalating. We have a red status with a clear risk of further violence. Red is a situation where there is an immediate and high risk that it may erupt in further violence. And there we are now. It's a serious situation.”
Gang warfare has become an extremely serious issue in many Swedish cities and 'no-go zones.'
The migrant ghetto of Araby in Växjö exploded in violence over the weekend amid a rash of shootings, explosions, car fires, and beatings, according to Fria Tider.
One woman told local media she had fled war in her home country, but was encountering similar circumstances in Araby.

The Washington Post reports that The White House has been prompted to compile a dossier of ‘false’ claims by reporters about President Trump, after the Post itself published a story with the headline “Room rentals, resort fees and furniture removal: How Trump’s company charged the U.S. government more than $900,000.”
“The Washington Post is blatantly interfering with the business relationships of the Trump Organization, and it must stop,” said Deputy White House press secretary Judd Deere.
“Please be advised that we are building up a very large ‘dossier’ on the many false David Fahrenthold and others stories as they are a disgrace to journalism and the American people,” Deere added, referring to the Post reporter.
The story claims that federal agencies have racked up bills totalling almost $1 million at Trump Organization properties since President Trump took office.
Nancy Pelosi admits Joe Biden is no match for President Trump in upcoming debates.
The report also claims that the Trump properties repeatedly charged the Secret Service for “resort” and “furniture removal” fees, as well as doing deals with government agencies to block book rooms for a fortnight at a time, in case Trump needed to travel.
The insinuation in the report is that Trump is using his Presidency to line his pockets by staying at his own hotels and hosting Republican events there.
Deere told the Post that the claim is nonsense and that Trump “turned over the day-to-day responsibilities of running the company though he was not required to, [and] has sacrificed billions of dollars” by concentrating on his Presidency rather than his business interests.
