This royal purple velvet gown is similar to my Halloween-flash heroine’s gown for the Vampire Wine Tasting party she is attending. Only Shandra’s gown is burgundy velvet and more Victorian in design. However, the Kougaress will be donning this exquisite gown for tonight’s Witches and Wine-Tasting costume party. Of course, if the right hero would like to do a bit of witch-tasting on all of the Kougaress’s erogenous zones... let the all-night party begin.

So, as far as the ongoing saga of Aspen Mountain Press, the Kougar discovered TANGERINE CARNAL DREAMS is no longer available on Amazon, or ARE. Also, BookStrand’s offering of AMP ebooks is gone. While this Big Cat author didn’t discover, at that point in time, whether the doors have been officially closed at AMP, she did find a follow-up blog by Celine Summers ~ kaantira.blogspot.com ~

Since her book is no longer for sale at these vendors, the Kougar is officially reclaiming her author rights. It’s obvious the contract has been breached. As well, since this Big Cat author has nothing of value as far as being sued, she has nothing to lose by reclaiming what belongs to her in the first place. Her own book, TANGERINE CARNAL DREAMS, written exclusively by her.

What is it like to be a bull rider? I guess that can be answered a hundred different ways by a hundred different guys. I was never raised on a ranch and really had very little to do with rodeo while growing up other than watching a few of them. I did have a cowboy hat and was raised on Willie, Waylon, and Jerry Jeff Walker, so it wasn’t too much of a stretch for me to want to pursue the life of a cowboy. It all happened at a rodeo in Syracuse, New York of all places.

AUTHORS/ASPIRING AUTHORS ~ Good Advice About Excerpts

It's time for my excerpts speech. :P

Okay, it's not much of a speech. Actually just some points to keep in mind.
First off, if you want to post the entire first chapter, please feel free to
stop by my promo blog and post it there --
~ dreneebagbypresentsfirstchapters.blogspot.com -- I need the content
and then you can link to that rather than have the whole thing on your site.
Just click on the "Submissions" link to find out what to send me.

Now for excerpt advice:
#1 - Show interaction between the main characters
#2 - No climaxes, orgasms, or major character developments
#3 - Keep the reader wanting. End in a spot that will make the reader want
to buy the book so they can find out what happens next.
#4 - For novel-length books 1000 words is plenty. Obviously shorter excerpts
for shorter books.
#5 - Do NOT excerpt anything from the last chapter. Yes, I know this sounds
silly but I've seen authors excerpt the end of the book before. Don't ask me
why said author thought that was a good idea.
#6 - Don't give away the whole book. If you plan to have more than one
excerpt, don't end up excerpting the whole book or else no one will feel the
need to buy it.
