Twas the Night of Twelve Drummers Drumming...

What the Kougaress would wear if she was going *Holiday partying* tonight...
Big Kittens...the terrible chill has lifted, for now, on the tame prairie. And the Kougar is recovering from being under the weather...sniffle...
May you all be snuggy warm and truly blessed on this day before Christmas...
Guess *tail-twitching* what? Looking for a cover art font, moi discovered the BookStrand ad in Romantic Times magazine...and there was the cover of When a Good Angel Falls, in the midst of, and along with all of the outstanding authors’ book covers. Meow-wow and pow! What a lovely giftie for this Kougar girl...check out page #117 of the January 2009 issue.
Also, tomorrow, the Kougar will be blogging at Title Magic...find out about a naughty version of Rudolph, the Red Nose Reindeer...

Twelve Drummers Drumming...

Part Seventeen ~

Who was this man...this shapeshifter...this alien from the stars? The questions struggled against the staggering blissful drunk her mind had become.
“Dillon.” She heard her voice reach out to him, even though he could tell her anything he wanted. How would she know?
“Kaily.” His rough, but gentle purr covered her skin. Slipping his palms over her waist, he stroked over her breasts, then caressed the swells. Omygawd, what was he...her dream lover come to life?
She pried one eye open, and gazed at his strong taut groin. “Eleven pipers piping...gonna pipe me, with that pipe?”
“Your wish, my woman,” he growled softly. “One.” He seized her breasts, then lunged.
She moaned with the torrid pleasure, the rapture already simmering through her sheath and igniting her pussy mound.
“Two,” he growled savagely.
She gripped his forearms, luxuriating in the feel of his hands as a blaze of ecstasy shot up her belly.
“Three.”
The immense weight and size of his cock lit her up like a bonfire.
“Four.”
As he plowed his manhood deep inside her, she whimpered, and dug her nails into him.
“Five,” he roared. With primitive strength, he thrust inside her six more times.
Her orgasm flared into an inferno of rapture throughout her flesh, and Kaily felt him strike deep, then squeeze her breasts into cones. Groaning her name, he raised up, rigid with his orgasm.
Long moments later, he languidly rolled her on top of him, his embrace heaven.
“God, can your lord leap,” she praised, letting herself snuggle against his chest.
“Then, my pipe is pleasing. And remains pleasing in you.” She opened her eyes meeting his dark golden eyes.
He looked so smug, she muttered drily, “You’re not an actual lord, are you?”
His grin could have eaten a canary. “No, my beautiful gift, I am not a lord as you mean it.”
She waited a breath or two before asking, “What are you?” Her heart tripped rapidly, suddenly, as if some part of her knew.
“On my world I would be considered a King.”
Despite his sumptuous molding of her butt, her eyes flew open, and straight into the amused brilliance of his. Her heart pounded like a damn hammer. “What? The King of Beasts?” The silly words burst out the instant they appeared before her mind’s eye.
“The King of Vhayquexia. One of thirty realms.”
Nothing made sense anymore. She merely gaped at him, still as a mouse hiding from a stalking cat.
“There is no urgency. I am certain my brother enjoys ruling in my absence.”
“I’m sure I don’t understand,” she hesitantly whispered.
“I traveled to meet a bride I did not wish to marry.”
“A princess?” Kaily blinked, feeling like she lived in a fairytale.
“A ferocious and particularly vicious princess with claws like scorpions.”
“Why?” She had to know.
“As firstborn it was my obligation to fulfill the treaty. Even though I objected.” His gaze turned to smoke. “On the twelfth day of Christmas...”

Red Lioness Winner

We have a winner! Debbie Braaten has won moi's spicy sci fi novella, Red Lioness Tamed from Liquid Silver Books, in The Romance Studio's daily give-away contest. Purrs and Happy reading, Debbie!
In meow-truth, my Beautiful Big Cats, Debbie is the very first winner for one of the Kougar's e-novels. Remember ~ way back when, or a couple of moons ago ~ if you comment in 100 words or less on the Kougaress's blog with your character idea ~ and if the Kougar favors it enough, she will reward you with a PDF copy of either Red Lioness Tamed or All Shades of Blue Paradise ~ and if your character makes it into one of her future novels ~ yowl! We have another winner! You will be granted a free PDF copy of that novel. Not a claw-quick or easy contest. Growling-obvious, but fun for the Kougar, and an opportunity to cat-stretch your imagination.

On another prowling tangent, now that Helen Scott Taylor, winner of American Title IV, has revealed her cover art for The Magic Knot ~ moi is in love with the font and Celtic knot design especially ~ the pic is on Title Magic ~ titlemagic.blogspot.com ~ the Kougar will show off her new cover art for When A Good Angel Falls, coming from Siren-BookStrand. Roar-yes, December 21, 2012 is finally revealed, even if it's disguised as fiction ~ hehehe...

Today on Title Magic Evonne's guest blogger is Sarah Mallory, romance historical author extraordinaire. Take a leisurely stroll over and enjoy. Moi mew-sings below.
Sarah, how utterly fascinating. I always love to know how authors create and why. The whole matter of the weather and how that is worked into your novel as another character, wonderful!
BTW your cover art has a sensual sweet loveliness to it that I just adore.
Boy, do I know what you mean. I just submitted a novella to one of my e-publishers. But I have no clue if it's what they're looking for. Nerve-wracking time.
Thanks for being with us today. Like Evonne mentioned what a lovely contrast between you and yesterday's guest author. Being very eclectic in nature, I appreciate both of you, and the different types of stories/genres you write in.

Purring back to contests and being a winner. Yes, it's absolutely true! Dorchester has changed it's mind and will now sponser American Title V in the Romantic Times Magazine. Here is the official blurbage:
Due to popular demand, the American Title competition is returning for one last round. Dorchester Publishing has agreed to co-sponsor the contest, which pits unpublished writers against each other in five rounds of competition. RT readers vote online for their favorites each round, and the last contestant standing wins the ultimate prize: Their book will be published by Dorchester!
To enter, send the first three chapters (no more than 50 pages), a two- to seven-page synopsis and a cover letter (aka query letter) to: American Title Contest, Dorchester Publishing, 200 Madison Ave., Suite 2000, New York, NY 10016. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY JUNE 15, 2008.
For American Title V, we’re opening up the categories to include: historical, paranormal, romantic suspense, urban fantasy, etc. Sorry, no young adult, women’s fiction or straight contemporary manuscripts this time around.
Manuscripts must be completed prior to entering, and they should run 80,000 to 90,000 words. Finalists must agree to participate in each of the five competition rounds -- first line; hero and heroine; story summary; dialogue scene; romantic scene --and must submit copy for all five categories by Aug. 15, 2008. The entries are published in RT, and readers vote online for their favorite. With each round, the two contestants with the lowest amount of votes are eliminated.
Get your novel ready and you could be the next American Title champion!

A smooch to Debbie from the Kougar....

My Purty Lioness Girl

Big Kitties all, it has arrived! Da, da, da...drumroll please. The official cover of Red Lioness Tamed. Included here for your rumbling perusal.
Here's my purty lioness girl, Sun Rocket Kahoqua of the Windgrass Clan.
And here's her handsome loner space captain, Draxen Z of the Venture.
Yep, lust on love on the high dangerous cosmic sea.
Coming soon from Liquid Silver Books.

The blurb:
What does a lioness shifter do when she’s suddenly trapped in an unknown space cruiser’s cargo hold? Then, despite her ability to savagely defend herself she’s trapped beneath the handsome human Captain.
And next, cat-scratching ridiculously, she finds herself carnal-trapped, and meow yowl! bound by leather straps in his bed?
Answer: She fights tooth and claw. Problem: The loner Captain is nova-hot at seducing her.

Huge congratulations to Trish and Helen for being the top two finalists in the American Title IV contest in Romantic Times magazine. Now is the time to indulge your fantasies, vote for your fave love scene.

Beautiful Cats, Trish has written a great blog on the mighty or not so mighty impact of reviews. Take a leisurely run on over to Title Magic. Moi's meowings below.
Great perceptive blog, Trish.
So true, everyone, what's already been said, although, I must disagree about Tom Cruise, not that he's a particular favorite actor of mine. I think the bad rap he's gotten is highly over-rated.
But, actually, that's just a side issue. I'm having a thought -- what if I read someone else's reviews, and they read mine, and we acted like filters for each other?
From an objective perspective reviews are sometimes a writing art unto themselves, whether they reflect the quality and content of the book, or not.
Naw, I don't pay attention to reviews except as their own campy art, or if they hit certain themes in movies I like, or are the types of stories I'm interested in.
As Sylvia Day said, she goes for the story itself, not the rating of the book. That's me too.
It could be the highest-rated book since a Nora Roberts, but if it's got the secret baby them...forget about it!
With the caveat that there are excellent enjoyable 'secret baby' romances. It's just so ubiquitous, makes my tummy queasy.

A Lazy Kiss

Mew...rumble...purr...and a lazy kiss from the Kougar. Today I feel like rolling in the browning softer grasses of autumn. The winds are sweeping in beneath a blue, cloud-scattered sky -- warm winds today, instead of the chill winds of yesterday. Here, on the paradise plains of the Midwest.
The Kougar was writing-good yesterday. Yes, more progress on her Crescent Moon Press entry - the ever-rewriting, the scrunched-up brow revising...every word in its proper place, a poetic and savage flow of fantasy, of passionate ferocious romance.
And, yes, to all beloveds of the Big Cats...we, like the Kougar, have an inner mew...from the days of domestic bliss...long before the days of Atlantis...
Rumble...purr...a kiss just for you.
