An armed homeowner in surburban Chicago thwarted an invasion attempt after two men showed up on his doorstep in medical masks and gloves, according to police.
One suspect is deceased following a violent confrontation initiated by robbery suspects in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Doorbell video footage of the siege indicates Bradley Finnan, 39, and Larry Brodacz, 58, attempted to force their way into a home, only to be battled back by a male resident.
One suspect can be seen attempting to tamper with a camera mounted near the porch.

Kentucky’s Democrat Governor Andy Beshear has issued a draconian mandate ordering authorities to record the license plates of Easter Sunday church goers and then quarantine them for two weeks.
“Those who attend these gatherings can expect public health officials to show up at their doors with mandates that they self-quarantine for 14 days,” Beshear said Friday.

“If you’re going to expose yourself to this virus, it’s not fair to everybody else out there that you might spread it to. Understand, this is the only way we can ensure your decision doesn’t kill somebody else.”
Republican lawmakers slammed the decision, arguing that the authoritarian move clearly violates the First Amendment.

Even Kentucky’s Attorney General Daniel Cameron pushed back against the unconstitutional order, calling it “the definition of arbitrary.”
“Directing a uniformed presence at church services to record the identity of worshippers and to force a quarantine, while doing no such thing for the people gathered at retail stores or obtaining an abortion, is the definition of arbitrary,” Cameron tweeted Saturday.

Beshear isn’t the only Democrat on a power trip.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio also threatened to come down hard on Easter church services, saying if people gathered to worship then police would “have no choice but to shut down” the service.
“So, I want to say to all those who are preparing the potential of religious services this weekend – if you go to your synagogue, if you go to your church and attempt to hold services after having been told so often not to, our enforcement agents will have no choice but to shut down those services,” de Blasio told reporters last week.
“I don’t say that with any joy. It’s the last thing I would like to do because I understand how important people’s faiths are to them, and we need our faiths in this time of crisis, but we do not need gatherings that will endanger people.”
How many arrests or quarantines of Easter Sunday worshipers will take place in Democrat-controlled states? Only time will tell.

A video shows a police officer in the United Kingdom telling a family that they can’t be outside on their own front garden in another example of the erroneous enforcement of draconian lockdown rules.
The clip of the incident, which occurred in Eastwood, Rotherham yesterday, features a female officer from South Yorkshire Police warning the man filming the encounter, Mr Connell, to “stay indoors because of Covid-19” and that “the virus does not stop on your front garden.”
“You cannot come on your front garden. I’m recording [this video], you cannot come on your front garden,” states the officer, who is clearly oblivious to the law, which states that people can use both their front and back gardens.
However, when she is challenged on it, she asserts, “I cannot speak for anybody else. You know when you look around and there’s nobody out? It’s because you can’t come out.”
South Yorkshire Police have now apologised for telling a family to leave their own front garden. SYP says the plea was well-intentioned (via @grandad1975)
The woman also chastised the man for wanting to visit the supermarket twice, claiming he had already been and bought soft drinks, which she implies is a non-essential purchase.
“I’m asking you to go indoors, are you refusing to go indoors?” asks the officer, before leaving.
After the video was posted on social media, South Yorkshire Police issued an apology.
“This encounter was well-intentioned but ill-informed and we’d like to apologise for the way it was handled,” said the force, adding that they had spoken to the female officer.
“This is clearly not right,” remarked Alexander Stafford, the MP for Rother Valley. “Whilst cannot see full context of the video, people are of course allowed to be in their gardens – front or back – and should be allowed to continue to do. This is clearly an overreach!”
With the United Kingdom set to be bathed in warm sunshine over the Easter weekend, authorities have indicated that they will get tougher in punishing people who flout lockdown and social distancing rules.
As we reported yesterday, another police force even warned that they would start checking people’s shopping baskets for non-essential items, although were later forced to backtrack.
Such situations are occurring across the Atlantic too, as we highlighted with a story about a neighbor who called the police on a man for weightlifting in his own front yard.

Serbia Imposes 60-Hour 'Total Ban on Movement'

Serbia is preparing for extreme lockdown measures which require all residents to remain inside their homes for the entire weekend as the Balkan nation battles to cover lost ground due to poor government response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Starting at 5 pm on Friday, Serbian authorities will enforce a 'total ban on movement,' which will last until Monday morning at 5 am.
Residents will be permitted short walks to relieve pets during specified windows on each day, with no other exceptions aside from medical emergencies.
"Citizens over the age of 65 can leave their homes on Friday from four to seven in the morning, to buy groceries at stores that will operate on Friday, at the same time, from four to seven in the morning," B92 reports.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his administration have been accused of badly underestimating the severity of the Chinese virus, even joking and claiming it was 'weaker than the typical flu.'
Vucic has repeatedly praised the Chinese communist regime, calling them "the only ones who can help us."
"We are waiting here for our Chinese brothers," Vucic told China's ambassador to Serbia in March. "It has turned out that without you Europe can hardly defend itself."
A digital billboard situated outside the National Assembly in Belgrade now displays an image of Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with the message, "Thank you, brother Xi."
An Infowars source in Serbia has called the situation there "chaotic," asserting the "corrupt" political establishment has cost lives with ineptitude and inaction, which has given way to a frenzied overcorrection.
"As much as I hate being in my home all the time, I appreaciate this more than incompetence, pleading and promises that sound good but do not work," our Serbian source asserts. "The people here don't respect or listen to the ruling class so the only way to produce some kind of order is via this almost tyrannical approach."
"However, the shady practices of our government have thankfully made it possible for us to have all the food and resources needed. And they gathered plenty of respirators we otherwise wouldn’t have. It's somewhat like being friends with the high school bully."
The Serbian government has reportedly gone to great lengths to silence opposition and whistleblowers as the crisis has unfolded, even arresting a reporter who documented the unsanitary conditions of a key treatment center for coronavirus patients where doctors and nurses were not even wearing masks or gloves.
Plans for the 60-hour curfew were leaked ahead of time by a whistleblower attempting to warn the general public to stock up on necessities, which spawned a panic and run on stores.
Shortly afterward, the leaker was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison – via a short trial on Skype.
Serbia has recorded 2,867 confirmed coronavirus cases and 66 related deaths at the time of this writing.
