Meee-oowwws! What a brain-twisting day of formatting for Indie-publishing SANTA BABY, SEVERAL STARS AWAY. Yeah, the Kougar made some good progress... but really the formatting hoops are ridiculous in this Big Cat's opinion... and, no, she's not ready for uploading anywhere. Well, the PDF file looks okay. So, now the Kougar is attempting to download the Calibre program on dial-up... oh, snarking whoopee!

Sally sniffled and reached for the steaming cup sitting on the bar. Two hours into her shift and a snowstorm from hell was blowing outside. Her head felt like someone was practicing bongo lessons in and on it. Two days of sneezing and light malaise had lingered longer than she anticipated. Trying to get the ten blocks to the walk-in clinic was out of the question. Every time the bar door opened, all she could make out was white swirling outside the door and the howling of the wind before the door closed.

Ugh, sounds like formatting is a pain in the tookus! Good luck and keep at it, I bet it will be worth it in the end. :D
Serena, if you have a natural bent for it, I don't think it's so bad. However... I really do doubt I'll be able to pull it off because some of it just doesn't make sense to me. I've never used the Heading feature. I mean why? If it's just a mss? Center and bold the Chapters. And I don't want pages because on ereaders pages really make no sense.
Sorry! This is beating my butt but good.
I wonder if the heading feature is so that the chapter stays fixed rather than possibly resetting itself. Headers are more stable than center and bold only.
If there's anything I can do to help Savanna, please let me know. I'm more than willing to do whatever I can. :)
Serena, that makes sense about Headings, or Heading Style. I've never messed with that feature.
Plus, there are several ways to convert mss for upload using various programs, and what works for one author doesn't necessarily work for another, which is one reason I remain badly confused.
And, then I don't a program that I can read .prc, etc. on my monitor, and I'm not certain what download would work best for that.
HOWEVER, I got the final cover for SANTA BABY, and I love it, even if it's not someone else's cup of tea.

I'm persevering, how I'm not certain... lol...
Yeah, I don't usually use the header feature either, when writing, but I've used it on other projects.
