Sylva glanced nervously toward the diner’s entrance. “Was your life that different?” Marina asked. Sylva jerked a nod. “It was very different. The Earth culture here is very different than the Earth I’m from.” Marina’s gaze blazed with more curiosity. “Where do I start with questions?” Sylva gave a shrug. “About anywhere. There are, apparently, a lot more women where I’m from, than here. Certainly, men don’t rope women to marry them. Or however that actually works. How did that come about, anyway?” Marina and Grant glanced at each other quickly. “It’s been a tradition since the West was won.”

Zeke prodded the Long Walker with his pistol. “The coin, how do you know?” The Long Walker shifted his body a bit. “Seen ‘em play poker using those coins. Only those coins. There’s different designs for all the families. But they all got the same snake eatin’ a snake circle. Ain’t that right, Ranson?” The Long Walker eased his arm downward with Ranson’s allowance. “Yep, it is. You got a choice, far as I’m concerned. Zeke here can put coin in your pocket, let you walk away. Me, you agree to work on my side...” A shot ricocheted above them.

Sylva embraced his final lunge to her core, and felt the raw pleasure of his orgasm take him. His entire body stiffened magnificently above her and somewhere in her center she sighed with a deeper satisfaction than the satisfaction of her sexual bliss. He was a man made for a woman. Those were the words that surfaced. She sensed their meaning within herself more than she could ever have explained them to anyone. “Silva,” he hoarsely called out, as if she meant the world to him. She knew it was probably only because of the moment... still, it was heavenly.

Zeke raged with ecstasy, his zenith a wild burning that swept over his body like a prairie fire. He knew the instant sanity claimed him once again, his bride had the power to possess his soul. He also knew she would only possess his soul with love. That was her spiritual nature. She needed to give him love, but would only do so if he respected what she gave him. The clarity of his realizations were so strong, he emblazoned it into his memory. “Sylva,” he rasped again. Lowering himself gingerly above her, he embraced her head between his palms.
