Weekend meows, cool cruising Big Kittens, my oh my and the world goes on, sorta...and blessings to all caught in the ash troubles from the Iceland volcano... yeppers purr, still cooler weather on the beautifully greening tame prairie. So, what next? On the world stage other than all the drama currently, the kind that global conflict is made out of... like the events leading up to WWI... big kitty breath here and sigh... may real love and peace reign.Yeah, who wants to do it... not this Big Cat... still, all the baby trees that have shot up, had to go to tree heaven since moi has no way to replant them. Yep, out there with the big cutting thingie and chop, chop... the Kougaress absolutely hates having to do that sort of thing, not the physical labor, but chopping the little buggers down. And, there’s more to go. No doubt the fairies are unhappy. Lots of sighs...
Oh, and guess what? Mr. or Ms. Non-Poisonous Snake... about a four footer was obviously awaiting moi’s arrival... actually, this Big Cat has let go of a lot of her fear response, so she merely said ‘hi’, and watched. The snake took a look then did a leisurely slither around and gradually took refuge in a hidden spot. The Kougaress can only suppose the snake sensed no ill intention.Yep, an exciting day... *not*, except for the organizing the character list of KANDY APPLE FOR HALLOWEEN, and doing some penning. Oh, to be a witch with the heroine, Kandace’s powers. Yeah, that’s the tickets in these times. Anyone bothers you, zap! Turn them into the animal they most resemble, just for grins. Or, trip the bad guys who are charging toward you. Create your own lightball for seeing in the dark.
Course, there is the down side...keeping your powers hidden so others won’t panic, and so you won’t attract the wrong kind of attention from the shadow agencies. Nope, in these times, the dangers are big time for anyone who is paranormally powerful. Still, yep, the Kougaress would definitely rather have them, than not.Witchy snipped from KANDY APPLE FOR HALLOWEEN ~
Several women screamed. Shouts of ‘fire’ echoed behind them. In moments, a butler-type raced past, carrying an extinguisher. As panicked guests moved alongside them, their fear tangible, the three of them quickened their pace.
“Neat trick, H hound. But, is it going to get us out of here?”
Two of the big-mug thugs angled toward them, their gait lumbering yet rapid. Closing in, they reached inside their jackets. Kandace’s instinct kicked in. She blinked causing them to trip over their feet.
Crash-landing, the two gorilla types rolled with surprising agility. On their feet, they charged. By that time, though, the mansion doors were just ahead of them, other guests already streaming through.~~~~~~
Authoress news and mews ~Okay, then, e-authors, the Kindle from Amazon has been updated with new apps... evidently, it is now compatible with your PC or your Apple... with the iphone, the blackberry, the ipad and some other format the Kougar can’t remember. This would seem smart on Amazon’s part. However, moi is not the tech geek type, so she can’t meow about the future of the Kindle.~~~~~~

What if she messed up? Made a horrible mistake... what if... oh, god. “There’s new equipment at the center, son,” Nevada answered. “It will read the composition of the pistol. Been meanin’ to tell you about it. But, you know how busy we get at the ranch.” Zeke squeezed her hand reassuringly. “The Secret Circle hasn’t been active in our neck of the woods. We’ve been concentratin’ on other important matters.” Nevada glanced over his shoulder. “Looks like we’ll be landin’ shortly. No one’s on our tail.”
Zeke released a sigh of relief, silently. “One heck of a honeymoon, isn’t it, darlin’?” His bride’s worried gaze met his as he settled down before her. “It has been.” She smiled a bit and Zeke treasured the glint of light in her eyes. His woman remembered their marital passions. “You’re a great ride, cowboy,” she softly teased him. “I just wish...” Clouds darkened her sky eyes. “What, Sylva?” Tears glimmered her eyes. “I wish I knew how to use these... these abilities better. To help you.” Zeke thumbed a few of her tears. “Seems like you’re doin’ just fine.”

Autumn weekend purrs, my snuggly Kittens... a band of cherry red neon followed the evening-darkened horizon on the tame prairie earlier. Yesterday was the first sundown for several days as the Kougar said. Meow-yowl, it’s been stormy, rainy, cold and dreary drizzling gray for the past week.
When moi slid open her favorite window to view the sunset more clearly, the fresh and fecund smells of Fall... yes, lots of falling leaves around... saturated the air, along with the slight tangy scent of harvested fields.
The Kougar is gearing up for all the authorly Halloween celebrations on various blogs, especially HAPPILY EVER AFTER and Lindsay Townsend’s THE PINK BLOG. The next two weeks moi this Big Cat girl will be racing at the speed of a chased black cat trying to keep up, as she’s certain many authors will be, especially those of us who get all tingly-furry-excited over All Hallow’s Eve.~~~~~~

Just for the Halloween lovin’ KitKats ~ a Dining-snippet from KANDY APPLE FOR HALLOWEEN ~“Potatoes?” Zin removed the lid and the tantalizing aroma had them all inhaling deeply.
“They smell divine. I never thought I’d say that about potatoes. Good, tasty, delicious, yes, but not divine.” Kandace poised her fork. “May I begin?”
“Ladies first,” Zol crooned in a teasing voice.
Kandace delicately stabbed a slice of potato with her fork. A moment after she’d slipped it inside her mouth, she moaned appreciatively and her eyelids fell shut as she savored. Unable to take their eye off their witch for several instants, Zin finally raised his own fork, breaking the feminine spell she’d cast over them, enough to fasten his gaze on his twin.~~~~~~

Though, she saw no funnel clouds forming, she still shivered, goosebumps covering her flesh. “Dad said the stormclouds aren’t threatening yet,” Marina reported, “and the sky is clear.” They walked around another corner and Sylva saw the outside stairway to Zeke’s family apartment. “Looks like we’ll be heading back to the ranch, then,” Grant rumbled behind them. “You’d safer at the ranch,” Marina piped up soon after her husband’s words. “No worries, sis,” Zeke drawled, “remember the underground rooms.”
Zeke swiveled his gaze toward Grant for a moment, pausing. His low chuckle said it all. “I believe my precious wife does remember, especially the recreation room.” Grant’s purring tone teased as only a man can tease a woman. “Don’t you dare,” Marina hissed. “Of course, I remember, that’s where Dad stores the good wine and whiskey. Besides, as teenagers we’d play pool for hours. I’ll bet big brother played some mighty interesting games of pool, given the sounds I heard.” Sauntering forward again, Zeke tenderly rearranged his Sylva’s arm. “I recall a time I heard some interestin’ cat-yowling moans.”

The picture is from Amazing Spider-Man #371. The Black Cat is a comic book character that first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #194.Late night purrs, darling KitKats. It’s a spooky mist evening on the tame prairie, a perfect setting for Halloween, and the Kougar is authorly busy, meow-yes indeedy, in so many ways.
Okay, now that’s a Halloween costume this Big Cat girl wouldn’t mind wearing, if only... if only she could regain her looks. Tail-twitching hey, if the transporter in Star Trek is possible, it can obviously be set up to rearrange molecules back to a younger state. Yeah, beam me up, Scotty... do the right rearranging and this Big Cat woman is ready to party.
Now, there’s a story idea. Want your looks back, ladies, we’ll beam you up if you’re willing to pay the price... yeah, the price being sex with a space alien hunk who needs it to keep his testosterone levels at optimum levels, so crucial for his work performance aboard the vessel. How many of us Kitten girls are lining up?

Just for the Halloween lovin’ KitKats ~ a snippet from KANDY APPLE FOR HALLOWEEN ~Extending one of her slim shapely legs, she smiled as coyly as a naughty nymph. Both of them knew she responded to their gentlemanly manner, an incentive that caused them to approach her with a suave stride.
Matching each other, they kneeled before her, transfixed by her inviting expression. Zin gently place his palm on the back of her other foot and lifted. In unison, they unbuckled the one tiny strap of her heels.
“Oooh... clever fingers,” she cooed.
In concert with one another, they caressed one hand down the back of her black-stockinged calves, stroking her red high heels from each dainty foot. Setting them aside, they lightly massaged her feet for long moments and ate up her mews of pleasure like starving dogs.

Feeling protected, nonetheless, she followed his example, keeping her own eye out and her senses on watch. “A rainy day sounds perfect, about now,” Marina enthused. “Grant and big brother have been working long hard days, even with winter’s colder temperatures. It just turned mild this last week and there was a drenching shower a couple of days ago.” Sylva flashed back to her portal arrival. “Yeah, the mud puddle I landed in.” Ignoring her cowboy’s knowing chuckle, she asked, “Do you get much snow here?” Zeke led her around a corner. The sky boiled.
Zeke shot his gaze heavenward for a moment. “The blizzard from hell, now and then. Looks like one could be comin’ our way. Or a tornado. What’s it look like to you, Grant?” Sniffing the air, Zeke sought the telltale scents. “I’m thinkin’ either a tornado or thunderstorms direct from deep hell. Once we return, I’ll batten down the hatches in the barn and the other outside buildings. No worries.” Zeke nodded, grateful for his family. “Chances are Dad will already have closed everything up tight,” Marina added, “But it will give me a chance to pet our horses goodnight.”

Weekend Big Cat smooches, my autumn-romping KitKats, sunnier skies today... and the Kougar has been busy penning away on Kandy Apple for Halloween. With Halloween or Samhain mere weeks away, many of us author bloggers are preparing our spooky celebratory posts, especially if we have a published story that fits.
Maa-oowww... the Kougar’s BLACK CAT BEAUTY is purring for attention and moi is considering penning a new scene... maybe... depending on what she can get done.
Yep and yowl, HAPPILY EVER AFTER and Lindsay Townsend’s THE PINK BLOG, both blogs are all about Halloween, the two weeks leading up to and on the 31st.

Awesome Spiritual Power ~ the Kougaress just heard that phrase spoken on the Unknown Country radio show she’s listening to about Shadow People.
Isn’t that what we all need right now, though? Whatever your personal belief or disbelief as far as religion is concerned, don’t we all need an increase in whatever we consider spiritual in our lives, and within ourselves?
To this Big Cat it almost feels like sink or swim time. Elevate your personal spirituality and practice it to a greater degree, or the darkness of our current world consumes more of our light.
Elevate ~ meaning a natural growth or movement toward who you truly are, a spiritual being. Not a dogmatic approach that demands a certain way of doing things.
Currently, there are celestial forces reaching down to us, there to assist us as we allow. One of these forces can and is being measured deep down in caves where cosmic rays don’t normally penetrate. Yet, one is penetrating, what some call the Cygnus ray because it appears to emanate from the Cygnus star system.
Cygnus, the swan... or to other traditions the goose constellation. Still, it seems to be all about flight. Soaring toward our destiny as human beings who embrace our divinity more and more... or awesome spiritually-powered individuals, who choose our futures, rather than letting a dark future choose us.

Just for the Halloween lovin’ KitKats ~ a snippet from KANDY APPLE FOR HALLOWEEN ~Seeing the sleek curves of the unique black sports car, positioned near the bottom of the steps, Kandace halted for an instant. “My, how extremely talented you two are.”
“It’s always wise to prepare for a swift departure in the event escape is necessary.”
Kandace giggled, the sound simply erupting from her. She figured it was raw nerves and giddiness hitting her like champagne. “I can truly say this has been the most eventful evening of my life. And, that’s saying quite a bit.”
“The night is still young,” he intimately poured inside her ear, once they left the stairway and crossed the drive.
Handling her like a rare jewel, Zol opened the passenger door and settled her inside. Even though it had been designed for the Twin’s height, Kandace indulged in the gorgeous feel of the black leather seat. She couldn’t resist scanning the ultra spare interior, despite the danger they were in. “Dreams do come true... sometimes,” she muttered.

When her handsome cowboy smiled in return, she felt her heart expand toward him. How incredible was it to have a man actually pay enough attention to her that he could tell she’d been worn down? Still, she’d have to prepare herself for the those times when he didn’t notice. Maybe, Marina could help her with the ins and outs of husband management here. Not that Sylva liked that idea. She didn’t. Yet, there seemed to be some practicality to the notion. For now, the piled high Fudge Snowcap arrived.
Zeke grinned, amused by his Sylva’s eagerness for one of Marina’s favorite desserts. He knew Grant carnally relished watching his sister eat it as much as he enjoyed eating the creamy concoction, himself. Zeke stopped at imagining what they did with it in the privacy of their rooms. Now, all he cared about was watching his wife enjoy. Later, they could find other pleasurable uses for all the cold thick cream and gooey rich fudge. After thanking the server, Marina grabbed her spoon and squirmed with excitement. “Dive in, everyone, before it melts too much.” Zeke plunged his spoon in.

Curl up comfily, my beautiful Big Cats, it’s bundle up weather on the tame prairie. The rains finally moved in very early this morning after a mostly overcast day. It pounded off and on, then turned cold and changed to a steady rain for most of the day.
The Kougar spent most of the day, figuring out ways to bundle cozily and keep the pain at bay from her slowly healing leg. Well-meow, not exactly, she created a new promo for THE HAUNT chat loop. She also read three fab blogs on three vastly different subjects.
Plus, she finally reached *her creative mind needs a break* time, and had the opportunity to fully read Pat Cunningham’s COYOTE MOON. What a perfect, cleverly entertaining escape into the world of one werecoyote... more of a review later, however here’s one of the Kougar’s favorite parts ~

This great information gave this Big Cat author a whole new dimension for her black wolf WIP once titled, Kill the Black Wolf. That’s been changed to a chapter title with the tentative story title being ~ SAVAGE FOR HIS WOLF WITCH. Moi did further research into a name for this particular tribe of wolf shifters... created, initially, by an Atlantean woman, who is a revered specialist in genetically engineering animal species that adapt well to life on Earth.~~~
Last night, while listening to Coast-to-Coast am, paranormal nighttime radio... Big Foot was the topic. Especially intriguing is the interaction some people have had with these reclusive humongous creatures, who seem to have a taste for apples.
Still, yowls of accomplishment, the Kougar did get a lot of penning done on KANDY APPLE FOR HALLOWEEN... *shivers* the villains have arrived.

She sent a prayer of protection to Ranson. From what she’d experienced so far, this was a safer Earth in many ways... yet not without it’s major dangers. Sylva sighed silently, knowing part of her was exhausted from dealing with her desperate situation on her Earth. Now, it appeared she had so much more than before, still, there was a whole new set of concerns that took aim at her. Maybe, her cowboy husband was strong enough to handle them. She hoped.
Zeke quickly sauntered back to his bride. Her welcoming expression pleased him mightily. Yet, what didn’t please him was the sheer fatigue he witnessed in the depths of her eyes. Everything had taken its toll on her. “You know what I’m hankerin’ for,” Zeke slid beside his Sylva and embraced her shoulders. “What?” She smiled radiantly. “I’m hankerin’ for dessert, for a cuddle with my bride, then a long time of slumbering. We’ll get a fresh start on tomorrow. Time enough to figure out plans for everything that’s come up, darlin’. Besides, we still have our honeymoon. That comes first.”

Remember this can be a wide theme - it can mean paranormal. It can mean shifters. It can mean those eerie moments your character can get when something bad is going to happen. It can mean those flashes of insight and foresight your characters can get. it can mean when animals are spooked by something. it can mean a scene where the atmosphere is tense and rather off-kilter and strange.
It can mean terror or beauty or both.
If paranormal doesn't 'float your boat' then perhaps you can blog on the strangeness of realism. The whole truth is stranger than fiction aspect. Super-realism, if you like. The grittiness of it.
Of possibly do a spooky flash fiction piece?

The monstrous black dog had two heads, each of them dripping a rain of fire from their massive jowls. Raging orange blazes filled the huge orbs of their black eyes. The beast looked as if was ready to spring and tear her throat out, then fling her hapless bloody body into the painting’s hellfire pit where several other bodies already boiled and burned.
“Hellhound.” The name burst from her throat.~~~~~~

Her appetite appeared out of nowhere. Glancing up, she watched everyone’s food placed before them and waited for the right cue to begin eating. “I’ll say our thanks,” Marina announced, once the servers had departed. “Great Spirit of One and All, we are always grateful for your bounty and we look for ways to provide Your bounty to everyone who needs it.” She performed what appeared to be a ceremonial wave of her hand above their plates, then grinned. “Time to chow down.”
Zeke made certain his Sylva took her first bite, then dug into his stack of buckwheat pancakes with gusto. “Everythin’ good, darlin’?” he asked, after a few large bites. “Amazing,” she murmured. Ranson paused before devouring his forked piece of meat. “Yep, amazing. Never can get enough of a good steak.” Grant gave a nod. “Once Zeke and his bride come home to the ranch we plan on a buffalo steak BBQ as a welcome.” Grant winked at Sylva. “It’s our family tradition,” Marina explained. “Zeke threw me and Grant a huge ole welcome home BBQ after our honeymoon cruise.”

X-Serial Flash in Two Hundred ~ Sylva and Zeke’s story continues...Part 273 ~Sylva welled up with a newfound happiness. No man had ever treated her with such care. She couldn’t help but hope it would continue. She smiled widely at her cowboy husband and made a silent wish he would see the appreciation in her eyes. Not that Sylva believed their relationship would always be so congenial and cozy. She had a huge feeling fireworks and not just passionate fireworks would occur at times, simply because she knew her own nature and she was beginning to understand how strong and highhanded he could be. Still, now was now. Sylva wanted to enjoy.
Zeke wandered around inside his Sylva’s brighter-than-the-noon-sky eyes with his gaze. “Did you get that, sis?” Tearing himself away, he glanced around at everyone. “Yep, got it. Mine and Grant’s are ordered,” she replied. Zeke grinned at Ranson. “What are you havin’?” Ranson answered with his own good-natured grin. “Long night ahead, looks like. I’m goin’ for a rare steak and all the trimmings. Plus, a good-sized mug of coffee.” Letting the menu roll back into a scroll, Ranson faced Zeke. “You and your bride will have to visit my home in the Smoky Mountains. Got some horses you’ll appreciate.”

“You two aren’t time travelers, are you?” Kandace hoped her voice sounded light-hearted and joking. It was hard to tell, given their huge testosterone affect on her.
For a brief moment, they glanced at each other, easy to do since they towered above her. Tiny golden vibrations emanated from their foreheads and Kandace wondered exactly how telepathic they were.
“We’re not time travelers by common definition,” the evening suit twin answered.
“But, you do travel through time,” Kandace persisted. Why not? If they knew about her, why shouldn’t she know about them? She took a nervous sip, hardly tasting her drink.
Again, the twins trained their gazes on each other.
“We have. However, not by our own power, little witch.” Mr. Tuxedo’s sexy croon had her turning toward him.
“Witch. You say that as if you believe I’m an actual witch.”

It was better than worrying over Zeke. “Solar magnetics. I assume energy from the sun and the use of magnets.” Marina nodded. “I’m a horse and ranch woman. Don’t know much about the mechanics or technology. All I care about is whether or not it works. Big brother could explain it, though.” Sylva smiled. “I bet you could tell me about the anatomy of horse and how it works.” Marina’s entire countenance brightened. “I could give you a science lecture. But it’s better to learn by watchin’ and riding.”
Zeke scrutinized the Long Walker as Ranson moved before him. “You get all that?” he asked. Zeke gave a nod. “I was hopin’ that would occur. You satisfied with lettin’ him leave?” Ranson cast a glance at Matt. “Yeah. I got my ways of checking up on him. I can always use an inside man.” Zeke asked the question he dreaded. “Your father?” Ranson flashed a smile only Zeke could see. “Dad has his ways of finding out what the Secret Circle is plannin’. He’s a crafty ole buzzard. How do you want to play this out? Do I follow?”
