“What the heck is so funny?” Not looking around, Dash entered a screen with bubbly tubs.
“You. The image of you being a complete and thoughtful gentleman while you pump your breeding flesh inside her tender little rose.”
“That ain’t funny.”
“Yes, it is.” Dono looked closely at the screen. “Admit it.”
“That’s why I like smashing my fist into your face. Your sense of humor is pathetic, smelly as rotten potatoes.”
Restraining himself from goading Dash, Dono scanned the selection of tubs.
“I think I’m gonna find me an actual tuxedo,” Dash continued after several moments. “I’ll dress like a proper gentleman for her, seduce her with dinner and champagne. Then I’ll do a proper romantic exploration of her beautiful and yielding body, which I will conclude with a long dip into her tender little rose.”
Dono sat back and let his laughter rip. His hands clutched his ribs. Hearing Dash join in, he guffawed louder. Both of them pushed away from screen, their sides heaving uncontrollably.

Part 140 ~Sylva decided to pursue the anti-aging conversation with Zeke. That cowboy owed her some answers and she was going to collect. She smiled at Lydia. “Thank you, for explaining. I shouldn’t be long.” After Lydia’s polite nod, Sylva drew up her skirts gliding toward the open cubicle. Once inside she slowly turned a complete circle while the door automatically closed. Wow! Hardly covered it. Luscious shades of pink and coral subtly gleamed. There was a lavatory, an elegant pedestal design, beside a vanity guaranteed to make a woman feel utterly feminine. Tiny pots of cosmetics were reflected in the mirror.
Zeke returned the Judge’s solemn gaze. “I do. I know the area like the back of my hand, if that’s what your asking.” Carlson nodded, chomping down on the end of his cigar briefly, before removing it. “I have commissioned a blimp flight over the suspect area. I won’t say when. However, it should provide some preliminary answers by the time we enjoy an evening together. Shall I send an immediate invitation?” Deep in his own speculations, Zeke gave a nod. “I’ll give your invitation priority. I’ll also begin a discreet investigation if that doesn’t interfere with your efforts, Judge.”

Eight whirly giddy kisses from the Kougar...
Have an especially lovely weekend, my Big Beautiful Cats... yes, this Big Cat is rather bemused, but tail-flipping excited. HER INSATIABLE DARK HEROES has spent a week at #2 on Siren-BookStrand’s bestseller list. Many purrs of thanks to everyone who has purchased a copy and rated moi’s bookie. Purr...rub... purr... rub... purr... thank you.
Today was a grocery stock-up trek for this KitKat and she is tuckered out... it was muggy and hotter than usual, a prelude to the storms that hit this evening. Cracking thunder exploded several times, the kind that sounds like it’s ripping the heavens apart.
On the way down two young hawks swooped close to the Kougar, winging toward the windshield, yet not in a dangerous way... still, surprisingly close. On the return trip, another hawklet soared above a field, riding the blustery winds. All three of them looked very similar. Three hawks... what is the Animal Spirit message?Oooooh tonight on Jaw Leno, Sassy Darling Cats, a seven month old Cougar cub... this darling fierce baby decided the furniture was his playtoy and attacked with fang and claw. Was he ever an absolute beauty and a cutie! Jay Leno finally got him off the chair with Cougar Cub’s large blue-ball toy. Woweee... My Kittens, was baby Cougar ever delightfully ferocious and powerfully rambunctious as he hung onto the ball and attacked.

The Kougar has found herself in a situation where there are several options for her mss, STALLION OF ASH AND FLAME... which way to go? That is the dilemma currently.

Part 139 ~Sylva felt several pairs of eyes on her, even though she doubted her conversation with Lydia could be heard. Resisting the urge to glance around, she kept her attention on the petite woman as she explained. “It’s called an Ion Cleansing Unit. The air is charged in a way that cleans your body and your garments. Quite harmlessly, I assure you. It also reduces the bacteria that causes aging.” Sylva felt herself gape for a moment. Had she heard what she’d just heard? “It’s anti-aging?” she asked. “Yes, the scientists, here, discovered around the 1900's, ways to reduce this bacteria.”
Zeke flicked the ash from his cheroot into the brass stand’s caramel-colored sand. His spine tingled with the warning that what Carlson had spoken about so far was true. If the republic was endangered in any way, he would be on the front lines of stopping that threat. He nodded at the Judge, who had paused, his gaze piercing as a bison about to charge. “Two, your knowledge about Death Valley. There have been tentative recent reports about an immense underground facility and tests using particle beam weapons. I’m told you set up an equine endurance race there every Spring.”

Hey everyone! Judah Raine here, and to celebrate our "Animal Week" here on the Pink Blog I thought I'd open a little window on Africa's unusual "poets"... Theirs is a language all their own, separate from the things of man, beyond the reach of what we call civilization.
They talk of things past, things ancient and beautiful and wise, when the puny footprint of man had yet to come to this vast continent. Beyond the memory of time and human vision, they walked in peace and ruled this place with gentle wisdom. If man would but pause to hear their silent voice, he would learn much of the bonds that hold together, the loyalty that joins forever, and that real strength lies not in size but in the simplicity of quiet confidence and communal care...

Tonight the Kougar is wearing out fast... probably because she actually did a little gardening today and will hopefully have some cherry tomatoes one of these days.
Meow-though, she got a lot of good claw-penning done on BRANDED BY THE TEXANS... including two of the brothers, Dono and Dash, begin creating the brand for their future wife.

They glimmered with a film of pale pink stardust. Beyond the arches were shell pink cubicles, large as walk-in closets. The door to one of them slid open invitingly. “Does that mean...?” Sylva asked. “It does, Wife of Zeke” Lydia took a step back. Sylva glanced around. “Where do you wash your hands?” she asked. Lydia smiled graciously. “There is a personal cleansing unit and a lavatory inside.” Sylva’s head whirled a bit, and since she wasn’t desperate... “What’s a personal cleansing unit... Wife of Bryce?” Lydia’s expression was amused.
Zeke took a long draw on his cheroot. He surely didn’t like the Judge’s tone. It meant something politically evil was afoot. “Why me, Carlson?” The Judge smiled with good humor, but there was a hard grim glint in his eye. “You and your bride.” Forestalling Zeke’s rearing challenge by holding up his palm, the Judge continued, “Your bride’s Earth could tell us something about what we’re facing. I need you for two reasons. One, your lovely wife seems to trust you already. Thus, you could guide her answers providing us with every chance to discover what she does know.”

The Kougar rarely thinks in terms of heroines and heroes, except while penning her romance novels, and reading romance novels. In meowing fact, when moi was a cub kidlet in school she never quite got the whole ‘who is your hero?’ question. As this Big Kitten grew up she came to understood the concept of having heroes and heroines, yet it still never really resonated.
~ The exception, and there’s always an exception... the Kougaress believes every woman who has walked this Earth is a heroine at some level... some being at a higher level of heroine-hood than others... only this feline’s humble opinion, of course. ~
That has changed. The Kougar has a heroine, Dawn Welch.

Sylva watched Lydia’s lovely light brown eyes sparkle before she answered. “The third time we meet, I will speak your first name. For now, it is the proper etiquette for me to address you as Wife of Zeke.” She smiled, taking the edge off the formality of her words.. “Then, I am to address you as Wife of Bryce?” Sylva asked. Lydia gave a dainty nod. “May I show you the lounge?” Sylva figured that was definitely to her advantage. “Please, Wife of Bryce.” Her tongue nearly tripped over the unfamiliar way of speaking. “The ‘use’ area would be great.”
Zeke knew the game. The Judge wanted to talk with Sylva, but he also wanted something key from Zeke, or perhaps, from both of them. “I’ll have a proposition to offer you. One I’m still gathering information about.” Carlson puffed enthusiastically on his cigar, his thumbs hooked in his jacket lapels. “Care to give this cowpoke a clue or two?” Zeke perused the diminishing length of his cheroot, keenly aware he needed to be careful about how much time he spent away from his Sylva. “We have a situation brewing that requires cool heads to diffuse. I’m countin’ on yours.”~~~~~

Blessing kisses to Dawn from the Kougar...
Yes, my Loveliest Kittens... the Kougar is celebrating... mew wahoo, four days at NUMBER TWO for HER INSATIABLE DARK HEROES on the Siren-BookStrand’s bestseller list... whew, what a ride, stressful but exhilarating, too.
Okay, today was a wild bronco ride for part of the day. A huge hardwood shelf fell off the brick wall it had been bolted too, by the former owners of the house. It narrowly missed the Kougar’s mommy and two of her baby doggies, landing at an awkward level on top of other furniture. Thank the Great Divine, there were no injuries whatsoever, just a huge mess and a lot of figuring out how to solve moving the shelf without causing a calamity. Yep, finally achieved and this Lucky Cat was worn out!
AND, A BIG THANKS TO GEM SIVAD, author of the western erotic romance, INTIMATE STRANGERS. Gem helped moi out with one of her manuscripts. And this Big Cat is very roaring-grateful.
Oh, darling slinky kitties, the Kougar has gotten quite a bit of writing done on BRANDED BY THE TEXANS, her next Siren Menage Amour... which is why this bloggie is posted so late.

Part 136 ~
Sylva gradually swept her gaze over what appeared to be a gown-repair and fashion section, an enchanting area where several women were being attended to, their gown skirts smoothed or their sleeves fluffed. Sylva blinked, feeling astounded. Seeing another archway, she decided that was the actual ladies room. Moving in that direction slowly, she was intercepted by a perky smiling woman, who was petite and dark-haired. “May I be of assistance to you, Wife of Zeke Dhurago Vintorr? I am Lydia, Wife of Bryce Nathaniel Otorro.” Sylva blinked, absorbing her situation. “Nice to meet you. Can you call me, Sylva?”
Zeke accepted one of the cheroots he enjoyed on occasion from the Judge’s son, Kemp, and lit up. After savoring a few puffs, he eyed Carlson directly. “Judge, you only want an evening with my me and my bride, so you can politely grill her about the parallel Earth she arrived from.” Carlson tapped the ash from his cigar into the tall brass stand designed for that purpose. “You’re darn tootin, you rowdy lucky dawg. And if you’re half-smart as your father you’ll take me up on dinner. I promise a highly entertaining evening.” Zeke savored his smoke. “Half-smart, Judge?”

Yay, it was a good day. The new blurb for MURDER BY HAIR SPRAY IN GARDENIA, NEW ATLANTIS was happily accepted for the coming soon print book. That is ultra exciting for this author kitty because this story that was an ATIV finalist and deserves to be in print.
Tuesday, moi is penning two bloggies... her Intro bio post for ShapeShifter Seductions... and an expanded blog of her Baby Bobcat story at Lindsay’s Pink Blog... which she still needs to work on.
This evening the Kougaress watched some TV, a one or twice week event these days. Moi despises most of the inane and insane commercials. However, as she was up and roaming about during a commercial break she heard *Read your Romance on a Kindle* or some variation, thereof... yeppers, peppers, with the current economy Romance reading is on the rise... and this is proof positive... hey, who pays for prime time unless they expect results? It is now tv mainstream to read Romance... at least, on your Kindle.
This Big Cat authoress hopes this means mucho sales for all of us romance authors.

Part 135 ~
Sylva picked up her skirts, drew in an enormous breath, released it and straightened her shoulders. Pink paradise surrounded her, except for the sumptuous white leather couches. Three other women stood before large mirrors rimmed by glowing round crystals, applying makeup. Having no idea what was considered polite, she moved toward a gorgeous pale pink archway, thinking that would lead her to the actual bathroom. “With my luck,” she muttered, “Merlinda will be in here. Un-roped.” After passing through the archway, Sylva halted on her toes. Lounge was the word. In one area there was a beautiful glittering liquor bar.
Zeke moseyed toward Carlson, one thumb hitched in his belt above where his holster would normally be strapped. Given the prominent territorial judge was a fair man and incorruptible, Zeke decided to honor his summons despite being on his honeymoon. Carlson puffed on his cigar with style, then gave Zeke a broad knowing grin. “Vintorr, if you aren’t graced by the Divine Lady herself,” he heartily greeted, offering his hand. They clasped hands for a few moments. “You must join Prudence and me for dinner one evening once your bride is settled in.” Zeke eased his mouth into a wide grin.

A BELATED HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY !!!
Yes, my darling Big Kittens, at the last check this afternoon, HER INSATIABLE DARK HEROES was holding at the #2 position of Siren BookStrand’s bestseller list... oh, the gnashing of teeth, the longing to pace nervously... but, no, the Kougar has too many writing irons in the fire, plus a rejection to deal with, one that totally confounded her because of the reasons given.
Alas, moi thinks she’s figured it out, at least, partially. For some people owning a gun like my heroine does equals immaturity and no depth of character. However, consider if you will, my KitKats ~ you are rancher riding over your land on your trusty horse.... all of sudden, hiss... rattle... hiss... you catch a glimpse of a rattlesnake’s tail... now, if you’re lucky enough to be far enough way you can escape. If you’re not, you can attempt a communication like an animal psychic and hope Mr. or Ms. Rattler responds in a positive manner. Or, if you have to ~ to save your horse or yourself, or anyone else close enough to be attacked... yep, you shoot because you’re a damn good shot. Somehow, I doubt pepper spray or a taser would work on an attacking rattlesnake. Although, a taser is supposed to neutralize the venom.
One other note, a personal preference only. The Kougar is not into the whole ‘flawed’ character thing. Nothing wrong with it. A lot of wonderful and exceptional romance authors pen stories about their flawed heroes and heroines. That particular story device just doesn’t purr this KitKat’s romantic nature, the exception being when it is truly organic to the story as in Gem Sivad’s fantastic INTIMATE STRANGERS.
So... on to greener publishing pastures.
Today, on the Liquid Silver SEx blog, Nina Pierce, incredible erotic romance author, braved Mother’s Day with the theme of flowers. Some intense flashes and lovely flower flash-ings, my Kittens, if you want to stroll over for a glimpse. Oh, and moi stole her pic... the one up above.

For, pairing and coupling in my world is devoted to the creation of magic, the constant generation of life.
Every breath of every creature and plant depends on what is called the Vigorous Magic between a woman and a man in union. Such love as I dream about within my innermost soul, the desire for love which beats inside my heart like hummingbird wings, is considered vital, yet not of highest value. Passion between Mates ~ the fire, the water, the wind, the earth in their most passionate expression, that is what spins our majestic world and maintains the delicate balance where all beings thrive and evolve swiftly. Still, I hope. Though, I know it matters not much at all.
In truth, I fear I will be matched with a man who blazes my sun-fiery temper... a husband who will raise savage storms within my breast at his pleasure... a mate who will cause my flight through the magnificent skies to become ever fiercer, ever faster, a competition to the wind itself. My flesh is painful with its own rapid breath. “As I desired.” His deep-timbered voice appreciates the site of me. “You are the loveliest of the Goddess’s creations.” I shiver, for I know his voice. He is a Dragon Mage, a black-red dragon shifter of extraordinary power. “Come, take my hand and be my One,” he invites. I cannot.

Sylva leaned forward feeling like a supple temptress as she slid her hands over the wickedly hard muscles of her cowboy’s chest.“I’d better go in,” she whispered, once their lips parted, “before I cause a scandal.” His hands settled over hers and pleasure coursed through her like shocks of electricity. “How do you do that?” she asked. His chin rested on her forehead. “Do what, darlin’?” Sylva pressed her cheek against his irresistible chest. “Make me feel so ridiculously wanton,” she answered, snuggling closer. “It’s the family lineage, all of us men are virile as stallions at breedin’ time.”
Zeke eased his arms from her as she wiggled to gaze up at him. “Is that so, all of you?” she softly challenged. “Okay, you,” she granted, then smiled bewitchingly at him. Turning toward the door, she gripped the handle. “Later, cowboy,” she sassily crooned. Zeke watched her enter with a lovely swish of her gown, then headed for the Gentleman’s Lounge. Dang, he walked on springs. Entering through the fancy black door, he inhaled the heady aroma of cigar and cigarette smoke that swirled through the fan-circulated air. “Zeke.” Carlson hailed him with a wave of his trademark cigar.

The one downturn of the Kougar’s lips... someone gave her Dark Heroes a ‘one’ review. Although, the FIVE’s are the highest, currently. Now, moi is forced to wonder if this the notorious person who loves giving menage’s and other good authors a ‘one’ rating, or is it a reader who truly didn’t care for the story?
Whatever the truth, the Kougar strides on, claw-penning her erotic romance novels and knowing you can’t please everyone... as Taige Crenshaw’s blog at the Liquid Silver SEx blog discusses... here’s the beginning of excellent bloggie... and the comments, so far, including moi’s mew-sings ~
A rousing debate

I’ve mentioned a few times at various places I enjoy a good natured rousing debate when it comes to books. Since me and my friends are avid readers we have these talks often. If we like a book we can go on for hours about it and each get something different from the story. Anyway back to this current debate. Since I went to RT last month. I came back with books from various authors I have not tried. I had a good natured debate about a book a mutual friend and I had both read. She didn’t like it and I loved it.

A reader of my book Intimate Strangers told me the other day, that Ambrose Quince was a real s.o.b. in the first scene and it took her a long time to forgive him.
That was the nicest compliment she could have given me.
Trina Lee’s Once Bitten is a stride through a tough neighborhood, all defenses on alert. Adrenaline is pumping and I’m there too with Alexa. I get to be an armchair urban woman in a werewolf world.
Savanna Kougar is erotica zinging into ribald humor and back to spicy poignant. It’s incredible how one or two of her sentences paints picture so vivid that I have to stifle my own moans.

I’m not finished with the e-books, couldn’t even begin on the print…
Alanna Coca starts her magic before you turn the first page. Even the title, Wyoming Solace, I’m already having that finding sanctuary…ahhh…kind of feeling. I’m in the country…*grin* and Alanna lets me smell the clover.
When I go back to the city, it’s to read Born of Fire, about a Phoenix. Before i read the book i can’t imagine a shape-shifting bird being sexy. As soon as i finish the book, i’m ready for its sequel and rush to buy Hailey Edwards From the Ash.
Books that i love are books that make me change my mind, grow new awareness, push the limits of my imagination. FEEL.

Interesting topic, Taige. My main book debate partners are my daughter, my son and two of my sisters. I think the last time we all agreed on a novel was the last book of Harry Potter.

Taige, thanks for bringing up this topic and presenting it so well. Yeah, apathy is a killer. If someone doesn’t like my book, okay, I got it and understand it, especially given my style of writing. If they do enjoy it, of course, I’m in seventh heaven.
Gem, you have such a phenomenal way of expressing yourself about the books you’ve read… ‘course, being human, *I think?*, I’m tingly happy over your words about my writing.
Ever think of being a reviewer… unless, you already are… or, if you have the time… that’s my downfall. I enjoy reviewing. I just run out of time.
Emotion. Yep, I remember a clear point of awareness, long long ago, where I knew what I wanted to do was have readers *feel* my stories, experience them. Not merely read them.
I think that’s one downfall of so-called ‘literary fiction’ … you can’t live it, or it’s simply aimed at wrenching some emotion out of you. But, did you get to live the story?
What I particularly adore about Gem’s writing, is that I’m right there. Back in that time, getting to live it as if I’m time traveling… not to mention I find her characters fascinating and deeply complex, which I enjoy. Shallow doesn’t do it for me in a book, unless it’s just a fun romp of a story ~ which is also a good thing.
I won’t go into details about other books I’ve fiercely liked and disliked… what I will say, is that as an oldster, I find a disturbing trend toward immaturity in the heroes and heroines and in the story itself. Also, often, in the writing style itself. It’s as though I’m suddenly stuck back in kindergarten, that level of simplistic thinking… what’s sexy about that? It’s fine if it’s a novel about kindergarten children… but, romance?
On the other hand, what I find wondrous and off-the-charts wonderful is the wide variety of subgenres. It revs up my happy excitement juices seeing, reading and learning about all the different kinds of stories there are now, and all the styles of writing that are emerging. I adore that level of creativity and revel in it. More, please.

Sylva mentally shook herself. Here she was, apparently, in the modern-day land of the chauvinistic cowboy. The words, ‘since you are my wife’ bounced around inside her like an old-fashioned pinball machine. Boing... boing... boing... Yet, and it was an enormous ‘yet’... there was how her ‘husband’ cared for her, so far, and appeared to cherish her. Not to recall their scorch-the-sheets passion. She blushed, involuntarily shivering a bit. “I won’t be far away,” he purred, his hand stroking hers. They neared a grand double door in pearly white. Gold trimmed the scrollwork while ‘Ladies Lounge’ was spelled using emeralds.
Zeke furrowed his brow. His bride was skittish as a filly loosed into a corral by herself for the first time. He comforted himself with the thought that she would soon learn his ways. Pivoting to her, he embraced the side of her face with his palm, then bent to her willing lips. They kissed with a languid intensity that made his head spin, as if he’d indulged in too much strong fine liquor. Ignoring the stud-eager lengthening of his cock, Zeke leisurely tangled his tongue with hers and encouraged her sensual enjoyment. Her hand stroked up his chest, passion-bold.
