Dorchester recently let its field sales force of seven go, although Tim DeYoung remains with the company as v-p of sales and marketing.?The editorial team remains intact, although Prebich said the number of titles released monthly will likely be reduced from over 30 to 25. He said the schedule for 2011 is set and Dorchester has books in the pipeline through June 2012.Dorchester will continue to do print copies for its book club business and has signed a deal with Ingram Publisher Service for IPS to do print-on-demand copies for selected titles. According to Prebich, some e-books that are doing well in the digital marketplace will be released as trade paperbacks with IPS fulfilling orders; the company, however, will not do any more mass market paperbacks for retail distribution.Prebich said Dorchester’s e-book business has had “remarkable growth” which he expects to double again in the next year. Still, digital sales accounted for only 12% of total revenue prior to the company making the transition to the e-book/pod model. Prebich conceded that Dorchester will have lower revenues, but he expects margins to improve. He said the company is working out a new royalty rate with authors that he expects to announce next week. Editors are talking to authors now about the changes. “We hope they’ll stay,” Prebich said. Pic of the aurora ~ August 3, 2010 ~Evening mews, my frisky and feisty KitKats, a lovely chirping summer heading-toward-sundown day... the temps were cooler on the tame prairie and fat golden bales of hay are in the fields... there’s just something feeling-good about that. The Kougar finally got her courage up [she’d rather face a charging bull] and checked the Siren-BookStrand bestseller list about mid-day... Yes, NUMBER THREE for BRANDED BY THE TEXANS. A lot of stiff competition these days, so moi isn’t looking for a spectacular showing. Though, of course, she’d be over-the-moon yowling-happy about it.THANK YOU! This bloggie is interrupted for a Special Report: From around ten thirty pm to about eleven am this Big Cat has observed something that has permanently blown her mind, on par with the small triangular craft she once saw hovering for awhile, not that far above the trees... the craft she witnessed was most likely a black ops one, given it had oblong, wide strips of lights on it’s sides. But, just about twenty minutes ago... okay, it began when this Big Cat got up from her catnap and saw an amazing light show outside her window. Amazing is hardly the word... at first, since there are storms in the area, she thought it was just huge banks of lightning to the south, north and straight up above... however, she remembered the solar flare was due to hit, the second one... THIS WAS NOT ORDINARY LIGHTNING!!! Not by any means... whether it was also the aurora borealis, this Big Cat doesn’t know... what she DOES know is that in the repeatedly flashing immense bank of lightning to the south... there was hole, a dark hole, geometrically round [on the idea of a portal] that this Big Cat consistently observed,,, and there were disc shapes, at times, that looked shimmery and rainbow-colored... in fact, several different types of phenomena occurred that this Big Cat has never ever seen!!! Then, when she moved to the front of her house and stood outside watching the bank of lightning in the southeast flash on and off, in an assortment of colors, sometimes... well, here’s where it gets even weirder!!! The round-shaped phenomena continued, only now there were more spectacular variations. One of them reminded the Kougaress of that famous Mayan 2012 disc that’s popularly pictured. Another one looked like the sun when it goes behind a thin cloud or is in eclipse... the dark round center had a fiery rim. Some of this round disc-phenomena shimmered on and off at a rapid rate. And, then there was one disc that looked like a bright pulsing sun, or picture a Celtic Knot that is bright and pulsing... WHAT THE HELL? [Note: this Big Cat was not drinking. Nor, was she under the influence of any kind of drugs, prescription or otherwise.]~~~~~~

Part 584 ~Sylva rolled on her back, and once again, attempted to arrow her awareness toward Zeke. She traveled fast somewhere, finding herself above the ocean floor. Floating above what looked like a long jagged flow of energy, she followed the direction of the dark yellow-gold pulses. Quickly, she witnessed a familiar sight. The energy fed into the seam where the blackhole portal had been. She watched as the strip appeared to tighten, then re-weave itself. Moving closer, she witnessed the energy flow change to a steady glowing state, one that was a bright yellow. “It is done,” she heard above her. Zeke cocked one ear listening for an answer to his question. At the same time, he handled the submersible, continuing to keep the craft stable. “Damn! That sidewinder devil.” Benjamin thundered. “A natural undersea volcano is about to erupt. We gotta get out of here. Zeke, take her up slow and easy as a rockin’ horse. Damnation! Can’t tell if we got that bomb properly diffusing. But we can’t stay here ‘n find out. Nevada, what are you seeing?” Zeke began a gradual ascent to the surface.
