So, it’s looking like she ‘might’ have to get the dreaded Microsoft Word just to have a source document. So, not good. Since the Kougaress DOES NOT like using Word. It’s not compatible at all with her nature. So, this writing thing was supposed to be fun, at least, some of the time. You know, follow your passion. Of course, it’s not the writing, it’s the effing having to use a program you don’t like. Gee, how fun and creatively inspiring is that? ~~~~~~
Why blind us with white...? You know, the Kougaress has never disliked ‘white’. In fact, white is a wonderful compliment to color, and beautiful unto itself. She adores white fabrics, and snow, for example. HOWEVER!!! This Big Cat is so *sick* of looking at white screens on sites, she could scream and howl to the moon. She could claw and rip, and now in these past moments, she’s beginning to HATE the site of anything white. What initiated this hatred? This Big Cat downloaded the Smashwords Style Guide, and her eyes crossed almost immediately. She got a headache simply because of seeing so many white screens today, and then all that white on the document. Come on, you idiots out there in weblandia who design sites, and are considered to be the tech savvy. What the hell is wrong with you? Why blind us with white and more white and more white??? This Big Cat puts a color background on all of her documents so her eyes aren’t ruined. Late night frustrated mews, my talented and terrific KitKats... much cooler temps on the tame prairie, but this Big Cat can’t complain even if she does feel too chilly... not with all the extreme weather and earthquakes that have happened and are happening. Yowls, frustrated because of all the heavy-duty research and learning around Indie publishing. What happened to simple? As far as the advantages of the computer/cyber tech age? What happened to typing the book out, having a simple formatting application, and uploading? Okay, there’s the editing/proof-reading and the cover art, both of which can go well, or be complicated, too. There are all the decisions to be made about this, that and the other, at every turn. Then, there’s some evidence to suggest that Amazon is favoring the so-called established authors in an unfair manner over Indie authors. The Kougaress has to wonder when humanity is going to get the idea of ‘equality’, as in a fair playing field for ALL. Really, this Big Cat applauds those authors who are successful! ~~~~~~
Volcanic Cauldron... it’s a good thing... The Kougaress learned something verra interesting today about volcanos in the realm of health... when she was a cublet in school one of the history lessons had to do with folks farming on land enriched by volcanic eruptions because obviously the plants grew so much better. There are certain kinds of clay used for various healing modalities, and there are miracle testimonies. This Big Cat used a product called Living Clay and it really helped her to think much faster and more clearly. Clay takes out toxins and germs, sucks them right out. And clay is from volcanoes. Volcanoes also create what are called monotomic substances, also superior for health. Today, another piece of the health puzzle fell into place. An erupting volcano rejuvenates the Earth by creating a cauldron of necessary minerals for Mother Earth, and all the life beings upon her. Facing Your Soul as an Author... the Kougaress had another one of her insights today, one of those sudden deep knowings that is triggered by experiencing what is occurring in your life. Over the years she has done her darndest to be true to herself. She has done her best to live her dreams. In this quick flash of understanding, the Kougaress realized that her soul is satisfied and happy with the books she has written and published. Every single one of them. And, yes, the Kougaress wrote with soul. It felt good to know this, however, to feel it at this soul level. It still feels good. A warm lovely feeling that will always be there inside. Facing your soul is sort of like facing yourself in the mirror. Only this is a sensation of standing face-to-face with your soul, as seen before your mind’s eye, and knowing that what you did, what you’ve written was true to your soul. No, this Big Cat’s books aren’t as commercially successful as some authors. She’s not complaining, though, because she is commercially successful. And, heck yeah, she’s all for selling more books. In a way, now she has something richer now. A richness inside that can’t be replaced with money. This is not some monk-like thing advocating ‘no money’ or a vow of poverty. Not at all. Sure, the Kougaress needs money to pay for those things that everyone pays for. In fact, she believes in divine prosperity for everyone. Not as a social handout, of course. But, as a natural consequence of who you are, your talents, and what you can provide to others ~ products, services, art. This might sound like an excuse to some, this face-your-soul thing. Or, it might sound like a justification for not being as successful as some in this biz. Believe that, if you will. All the Kougaress can do is speak what’s true for her. And write what is pleasing to her and to her soul. And, she so hopes it’s pleasing to others. ~~~~~~
Authoress news and mews ~ So, the Indie education continues for this Big Cat author. The downside is all the time and energy expended instead of actual writing... still, the Kougar wants to re-release RED LIONESS TAMED and BLACK CAT BEAUTY as Indie ebooks for right now. Then, hopefully, at some point soon, she’ll have time finish the next book in the series. Who knows, if she can get the hand of this Indie thing... maybe... hopefully, it will get easier. ~~~
