Groovin' and Movin' to the Music

Sunday purrs, my groovin’ and movin’ Meows... another authorly whirlwind day on the tame prairie... not so tame last night with the strange storm that reminded moi of a Battleground of the Gods... is this why the ancients could so easily envision Thor throwing lightning bolts... or was it truly a battleground?

Groovin’ and Movin’ to the Music ~ the Kougaress was strongly reminded of how vital music is to all of us during the Aquarian Age while listening to an early disco song she hadn’t heard for a looong time. Yeppers purrs, she was shaking it to the rhythm, just like in the olden days of dancing fever. Tighten it up... by Archie Bell and the Drells ~ 67, 68... brought it all back in a soul-wonderful way. In this KitKat’s opinion, this dancin’ tune stands up to the test of time, and we should all be groovin’ and movin’ to this tune and so many others of that time period. What a super, get-in-tune-with-the-universe party that would be.

Mercury retrograde periods affect each one of us differently depending on the placement of this planet in our individual birth charts. The effect on Gemini and Virgo signs, ruled by Mercury, will be stronger, but for other signs it is a time of trivial irritations. Being forced to slow down and develop patience can, however, be a blessing in disguise. It gives us all time to stop, go inward and reflect. Sylva understood. If this was true, no wonder Bear Feather and Indyra sought their help. If this was true... ‘It is true,’ she heard Coon’s voice. ‘How do you know?’ she automatically returned, seeing Coon before her mind’s eye. He looked a whole lot less grizzled than when she’d first faced him down with her cowboy inside the front room of Zeke’s aunt. Sheesh and holy moly, what? Was she really inside a cyclone of time? ‘Snake and me was forced to help with our psi-sight. Your Earth has the time portal plans all drawed up.’ Somehow, Sylva didn’t doubt that.

Zeke let the scenario before him take hold. Digesting it slowly, he pondered, attempting to pull the bizarre-as-all-hell pieces together. ‘You got me twisted in a devil’s knot, Bear Feather. You mind revealin’ how we’re supposed to help out here? Course, I don’t want time travelin’ capability in the hands of Secret Circle. We got enough troubles stoppin’ their evil doin’ now.’ Indyra pivoted toward him, her hands in a position of prayer. ‘Are you not about to help the men you call Coon and Snake rescue their families?’ Zeke felt his Sylva jerk, almost as if she were flesh.

Battleground of the Gods

Hour of midnight meows, my Saturday super KitKats... the Kougar swears the night skies above her tame prairie have become the Battleground of the Gods... over four hours of lightning... banks of lightning flashing on and off, south, west, to the north, and above... banks of lightning with strange circular geometric patterns... what the heck is going on?

When the storm first moved in, the lightning became ferocious and there were blinding flashes. The thunder explosively cracked across the heavens, sometimes shaking the house. What was also exceptionally odd, there were about three instances where everything blanked to black, then looked as if re-started... like on a computer screen. It rained, heavily for a short time.

The Kougaress knows one thing. This is not the type of lightning she grew up with.

Part 600 ~

Sylva stared. Prehistoric creatures flew the skies. On the red desert, in the shadow of the colossal rock formations, she saw small herds of what looked like a type of antelope and a type of fierce sheep. The rams had amazingly curled horns with sharp deadly points. She didn’t see them until they moved, but two pumas as red as the land, crouched atop one of the flat-surface buttes, their gazes fastened on an area of sparse vegetation. The sensation of not being able to blink continued as she watched the tear in the sky lengthen and widen. ‘Oh, god.’

Zeke echoed his Sylva’s words. ‘How?’ he asked, as the slit of unholy light touched the ground. Apparitions poured through. At the same time, shadows in the shape of humans accompanied them. ‘An invasion from another dimension,’ Bear Feather explained. ‘It is brought about by the misuse of a time vortex on your world,’ he continued. ‘The Secret Circle is on the verge of using the Cern Hadron collider of your Earth, Sylva, to open of permanent portal to this Earth. Then, they will use that particle-wave technology to move back and forth in time. Their evil deeds to accomplish.’

Maows, my Friday-frisky Felines... the Kougar made it outside on this lovely summer day long enough to chop another path around her tomatoes... the plucky tomatoes are growing! And there was a new plucky treat... a different kind of tomato probably from one of the heirloom varieties moi planted last year... it was darn tasty! ... the only problem seems to be slow ripening which some say is because of all the overcast days and also an ash haze in the skies... that might be residue from the Iceland volcano... so not good news since this caused famine in the age known as the Dark Ages. Food crops didn’t fare so well because of the lack of sunshine and the shorter growing season. Still, this Big Cat is so happy to have her yummy tomatoes.

Oh, the little green frog... last night moi noticed a green sort of lump on her carpet... then it hopped... so endeavoring to save cute little froggie she got her trusty cottage cheese container... well, of course, froggie hopped staying about three feet away from moi... finally halted by a door, the Kougaress got her/him froggie wrangled and in the container... yep, and place outside, once again.

Sylva mentally blinked in surprise. Zeke did know Bear-man. ‘Or whatever the hell that light-show trip was,’ her cowboy continued. ‘It is what we call a splinter of time,’ Bear-man answered. ‘We will return you,’ Indyra mind-spoke. ‘It will be as though you were never gone.’ Sylva couldn’t say why she felt reassured other than Zeke’s protectiveness wrapped around her the same way his astral arms did. Strange how real, yet how different he felt in this form. ‘They say your Earth has altered their world’s timeline.’ Sylva explained. ‘In twenty of your years our world is destroyed,’ Bear-man communicated.

Zeke couldn’t help wondering when this stampede-wild ride he’d been on was going to start slowing down. Still, he dang certain didn’t want another man’s world ended because of his world. ‘Destroyed? How?’ Indyra waved her arm in a long arc. Suddenly the weird wall symbols wavered. Coalescing in some fashion he didn’t understand they formed a scene as if he looked at a big-as-the-sky screen. Pterodactyls covered the orange tinted sky winging like a flock of birds over a landscape that reminded him of high butte desert country. As he watched a rip appeared in the sky, and grew.

The net-neutrality ending deal with Verizon is just the beginning of Google’s plans to kill the open and free Internet as part of their takeover agenda to completely control the world wide web and force independent media websites, radio and TV shows out of existence for good.

Google’s agreement with Verizon to speed certain Internet content to users opens the door to the complete sterilization of the world wide web as a force for political change. Under Google’s takeover plan, the Internet will closely resemble cable TV, independent voices will be silenced and the entire Internet will be bought up by transnational media giants.

People who want to run a simple blog will be priced out of existence, online TV and radio shows will cease to exist as the Internet is swallowed up by the corporate borg.

Sylva nearly flung herself toward Zeke until she realized she wasn’t corporeal. Still, she rushed into his open arms. Somehow. The sensation of being sizzled alive took over in a good way. ‘Zeke.’ She nestled against him, feeling a strange state of sweet fusion occur between them. ‘The bomb?’ she thought to ask, then recalled she had a message to deliver from those who had called themselves Caretakers. Zeke didn’t answer at first, and it hit her that, of course, he didn’t know Bear-man and Indyra. ‘It’s okay, darlin’. Everything is okay, right now.’ Her cowboys caring warmth embraced her.

Zeke kept one eyeball, or whatever passed for an eyeball, on the diminutive woman with a greenish cast to her skin, and the man he recognized as a well-known elder on their regional Native American Council. If it wasn’t Bear Feather, whoever was a dead ringer. ‘Yes, I am the man you know as Bear Feather, Zeke Dhurago Vintorr. This is my wife, Indyra.’ Zeke gave a welcoming nod to the woman who smiled. Her face might as well have been light beams. ‘Didn’t know you was hitched, Bear Feather. Congratulations.’ Zeke paused. ‘There a reason you laser-flashed me here?’

Dreamtime... it was amazing in a writer’s banquet sort of way... moi has been ‘dreaming up’ another futuristic erotic romance that takes place in 2026... this one is dark and hardcore in an Armageddon sort of way... and the Kougar dreamed several sequences of what life is like then... for moawsa example: at the automated checkpoints there is a wave-tech machine that turns water into a poison by altering it. Moi might have dreamed this because the government now claims it owns your rainwater, and ‘they’ can make you pay for using it... *nope, this Big Cat is not making this up*... our precious world, our precious country... well, those in power have gone psycho-berserk. Of course, now moi must have rain barrels just for the sake of roaring-defiance.

Sylva definitely felt out of her element. Plus, frustration seared her molecules but good. She wanted Zeke. ‘Look, it’s not that I don’t want to help you. But, really...’ Bear-man held up a palm in a serene manner. ‘Let my beloved and I show you what our world faces.’ Feeling her compassion surface, Sylva could only mentally nod. ‘We have brought your man to our domain, daughter of two Earths, so that he may know and help us,’ Indyra telepathed. ‘Sylva! Darlin’,’ she heard inside her head. ‘Zeke,’ she shouted in return. ‘I am leading your Zeke here,’ Bear-man assured.

Zeke followed the miniature image of his Sylva. Someone certainly knew how to gain his cooperation easy enough. He mind-called out his woman’s name again, and hoped. Rewarded by her voice saying his name, Zeke wondered if a Trickster had him by his stud balls... hell, he wasn’t dang certain what form he was in... astral, physical? He moved as if he inhabited his body. In the back of his mind, Zeke worried about his father. Had he seen him disappear in a flash? The devil’s tail! He had no idea what happened. He knew one thing. He wanted his Sylva.

Finally!

It took a while, but I’ve finally finished typing up the second draft of my vampire story from the handwritten first draft. In the course of the typing I added scenes and rewrote some and discovered at least 3-4 chapters could do with a minor overhaul. Yeah, I said chapters; what I thought would be a novella at best bloated up into a medium-length book.

Sylva slowly unfroze her astral self, turning around. The man she’d witnessed morph, then walk through the door, gazed at her, his eyes gray and dark as Lake Michigan on an overcast day. ‘So, how am I supposed to assist you? And why is your world in danger from my world? And, do you mean my Earth, or this Earth?’ The grin that gradually formed took over half his face. ‘It is this Earth. That is why we are here. The cabal that is called the Secret Circle here, has interrupted the timeline in a manner which will be disastrous.’

Zeke took in the expressions of the other men before he stood. Intense with concern and speculation new lines appeared to groove their faces. Course, they were all bone weary. “If you’ll pardon me, I’ve got some personal business to tend to. You know where I am, if another emergency situation rears up like a rogue stallion.” Giving Van a nod, he pivoted to depart. Lightning penetrated his skull in the next instant, so it felt. Zeke blinked, stared down at his boots, then up his body. He appeared to be whole. Looking up, he gazed around the strange room.

Of course, that’s not a question I can fully answer in one blog. For one thing, it encompasses a lifetime of watching Westerns on TV and on the silver screen. And, yes, I went through a short period of reading western novels as a young teenager, Louis L’Amour being the king.

What a Character!-Flash

So for today’s flash fiction topic I thought I’d focus on character. In one hundred words or thereabouts, create a character that I want to know more about: a hero, a villain, a sidekick, a guy, a girl. I don’t care. Just make him or her interesting.

Moi’s Villain Flash ~

The time-wave portal closed behind him as he crouched, his clawed hand planted on the short-clipped lawn. With the scent of prey overwhelming, his muscles tensed rippling his chameleon hide, now reflecting the dark gray of twilight. Disciplined to a high degree, he didn’t obey his savage hunger. Instead, he listened to a nearby teenager’s music scream bloody murder, as he gradually rose upward morphing into a handsomer version of Adam Sandler. The comedian-actor appealed to his sense of humor. Fishing out his key, he strode toward the house his servant had rented. It was time to kill the humans.

Sylva wondered if the woman had transfixed her like a cobra, and that’s why she didn’t move. Yeah, she’d always wondered if the snake actually charmed the snake charmer... whatever, here she was. And not with Zeke. Hell! ‘My name is Indyra. I am from a world many light years away. I am what is called a Time Travel Priestess. I have arrived from the future.’ Sylva knew words were there to speak or telepath, but... ‘Why are you here?’ she finally asked. ‘We are here to save our world from your world.’ The man-bear’s voice answered. ‘Please, assist us.’

Zeke absorbed Van’s report... barely. His gut wasn’t ringing alarm bells. Still, why was his Sylva astrally with that off-world woman? ‘Sylva. Sylva, darlin’,” he mind-reached out. “Everything is on record. In the data banks, gentleman, from the submersible. All I need now is your ‘sense’ of what occurred. And what it all means. Zeke, yer lookin’ antsy as a stud wantin’ to breed. You wanna go first?” Hearing snickers of understanding around him, Zeke straightened. “We got loads of trouble comin’ at us from these Secret Circle polecats. Since they’re in cahoots with other Earth groups just like ‘em.”

Oh, darling Felines, bad news about the Gulf of Mexico. Top scientists and professionals state, to paraphrase, that BP has threatened their livelihoods and attempted to buy their silence. These top folks in their respective fields are saying there a lots of fissures on the sea floor and that oil is leaking for six miles, at least. They further say that those horrible, horrible dispersants are being used to hide the oil plumes.
Sadly, so not a surprise. BP is known for lying about most everything. Too bad they get away with it.
